I'm finding this channel to be a fantastic treasure for Fujifilm shooters. Others as well, but it's great for Fujifilm users to have this learning resource.
Just fell upon your channel and so happy I did! You are the only Fuji video instructor I have come upon that literally shoots similar to what I do, and you have been a great help to me! I have watched 3 so far and see much more that interest me! I just traded my Nikon D810 system in for the X-T3 system, now 2 full weeks in with the X-T3! (it came to a great shock to everyone that knows me) Do I miss the full-frame 36MP beast? NOPE! It's like when I had my long hair and just got out of the barber shop having cut it! LOL! Thanks for all the real down-to-earth information..I'm with ya!
Another brilliant and hugely informative video Ian - well done. As a fellow Fujist, I now very much regard you as one of THE essential resources. Thank you.
Good Stuff as usual Ian! Good tips that I'll try out next time I'm out shooting with my XT-2! Oh, and when doing a cheesy shooting demo you might want to take the lens cap off!! LOL!!!
Thanks- good video. I'll watch again and note some of your settings, and watch some of your other videos. Could you do a personalized menu to store your walk around landscape settings?
Another awesome video Ian. Thank you! I really like how you've set your camera up. Very well thought out there. I may copy you for the most part (except I like back button focus). Cheers again man.
Thanks Niko, Glad you found it useful, yeah I used to use back button focusing all of the time on my nikons, never done it on the fujis though. Not sure why, just the way things have panned out. Thanks for watching as always mate 😃👍
Hi Ian, as the heading was geared towards Fuji shooters I wasn't going to watch but as I am sat here having a cuppa I pressed play and let it roll. To be honest there was some good tips on general shooting which could be applied to many cameras - not just your Fuji. Listening to you saying about shooting video and 120 fps etc I would be interested to see you do an edit video going through your process for putting a vlog together - something I wish I could get my head around - its the one thing that stops e trying to get more content out. atb Alan
Thanks for watching Alan even though you do not own a fuji. I pretty much used the same set up on my Nikons so you are right it is fairly general. Yeah, that would be a good idea for a future video, I might look into that 👍👍
I've had dead pixels on 3 X-S10's and on my X-T3 in FHD. And Fuji was absolutely no help. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem but I am also disappointed that FUJI is not as good as I thought.
Hey Ian - at 3:45 you describe setting the rear command dial to Focus Check. I have been trying to set this up on my X-T3 but for the life of me I can't get it to punch in (zoom in)! Any thoughts? (I 100% have the rear command dial set to Focus Check).
Hey bud,, yeah it's a busy summer, got 8 in July and 6 in August. Most are both video and photo, so thats alot of editing to get through. Rather be busy than quiet though. How about you, are you doing many this year?
Hi, thanks for the amazing video here, I have a question, on the single shoot mode, in the screen there is a small square that limit the capacity of my picture, I mean, instead of having the full picture I have a have it reduce a little bit and I notice when I saw the result of my picture. I have a Fujifilm XT4. Thanks for your help.
sounds like you have your focus assist mode set so it shows the full picture and a smaller zoomed in part of the image. You can change it in the focus assist menu. If not, i'm not sure to be honest. 👍👍
Well, as mentioned when on the tripod i'm focusing manually, so its not relevant. When using auto focus, as mentioned, i'm using single point, etc.... etc....
Thanks for this straightforward video. Just found your channel and have immediately subscribed. In your focus stack video which is also the very helpful, you use an L bracket...what type is it? Thanks in advance for your reply.
Really enjoying your channel since discovering it, it making me fancy dabbling in the world of fujifilm too, since you've used the xt2 and xt3 for a while now do you feel there any real benefit to the xt3 for landscape photography over the xt2? Would be interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks for making these great videos 👍
Hi Bud, Thanks for watching. The only benefit i can see for landscape photography would be the slight increase in megapixels, but it's such a small amount its negligible really. So not much difference at all, Video on the other hand, the cameras are worlds apart . 😃👍👍
@@ian_worth Thank you for the response, ok cool that's good to know. I realise there are other benefits to the xt3 but just wanted to see if there was much difference in the image quality. I'm half tempted to take a punt on a xt1 as 16mp is still plenty for my use. Thanks again 😃
Hi Ian, just found and subscribed to your channel. How big du you print landscape shots? I want to go from FF to Fuji, but I am concerned that I cannot print really large, like 70 cm at the widest edge. Do you habe any experience with that?
Hey there, thanks for watching. I tend to only print up to A2 which is about 60cm. They look great. I can't see why you couldn't print 70 cm though. The bigger the print the further back you will stand to see it all, so i'm sure the quality will look great. 👍
Are you referring to the auto iso for my walk around settings. If you are, you may be getting a little confused. Setting the max iso to 12800 doesnt mean thats what you will be shooting at. Auto iso, will always select the lowest available iso without dropping below your minimum shutter speed to get the correct exposure. Meaning if you are shooting in daylight, which I normally do, the iso will always be fairly low, providing the aperture is not set to something silly like f16. I hope that clears things up for you. As an aside, if you have a questions you would like to ask, please ask politely. I'm trying to keep the comments section a positive space for people to share their thoughts and knowledge.

Thanks Matey, your support and encouragement is much appreciated.. 👍👍
Watching back at these older videos, they were great… But you have come so far! Cheers mate!
Great video Ian. It would be great to see a video on your XT-5 settings for landscape.
I don't own an xt5 at the moment, but maybe I will in the future 👍

Good Stuff as usual Ian! Good tips that I'll try out next time I'm out shooting with my XT-2! Oh, and when doing a cheesy shooting demo you might want to take the lens cap off!! LOL!!!
Yeah I thought that lol, kind of adds to the cheesiness of it 😂 . Thanks again for watching buddy :) 👍👍
I am going to re look at how mine is set I like your ways
Cheers Paul, hope it helps buddy 😃👍👍
Thanks- good video. I'll watch again and note some of your settings, and watch some of your other videos. Could you do a personalized menu to store your walk around landscape settings?

you do make great vids man - hope you keep it up : )
Cheers man, I plan to. Although I may miss a week or two during the busy wedding period, weekly videos will keep coming. All the best 😃👍👍

Please make a night long exposure photo setting and tips for xt3
Cheers buddy, sorry i don't tend to do night photography at the moment, thanks for watching though 👍😃
Great video i would use the x-t3 more but the battery is always dead
yeah, the battery life sucks, one of the very few problems with this camera 👍👍
Which shutter do you use for landscapes mechanical or electronic?
I always use mechanical 😀👍
Hey Ian - at 3:45 you describe setting the rear command dial to Focus Check. I have been trying to set this up on my X-T3 but for the life of me I can't get it to punch in (zoom in)! Any thoughts? (I 100% have the rear command dial set to Focus Check).
Did you say a wedding a week till October? Wow mate :) I'm impressed!

@@ian_worth Truth be told, none :) It's been a slow slow wedding year. However I got other photography gigs so I'm not complaining :)
Cool man 👍👍

You could be in sports finder mode. Made that mistake myself.
What about the focus point single or area? Etc etc
Well, as mentioned when on the tripod i'm focusing manually, so its not relevant. When using auto focus, as mentioned, i'm using single point, etc.... etc....

Thanks for watching buddy. I have the sunwayfoto L bracket. If you look in the gear playlist you will find a quick review of it. All the best 👍😃😃
Ian, thanks so much for the great content. One question, where did you get your shutter button at 2:00
Hey Rob, glad you are enjoying the content. You can pick the shutter buttons up on amazon for only a few pounds / dollars 👍😃

Good stuff thanks. Do you use an L bracket, and if so why? Am wondering about getting one. Cheers 😁
Yeah I use an L bracket, I did a video on it. if you look around the channel you will find it. All the best and thanks for watching 👍👍😃

@@ian_worth cheers man ✌🏻🙌🏻
I've got the xt30, I feel this vid is a bit too advanced for me yet.
Thanks Archie, Check out my weekly vlogs for more tips 😃👍
Why not add the X-H1 too? the same set up as the XT2
Very True, You could use these settings on any camera really :)
12800 iso WTF?
