    Very clear and concise, thank you! I've been street shooting since the early 1970s (I'm 67) and swing between film and digital. Looking to master settings so I can just focus on the world at large.

    It might seem banal to you to go through your settings, but someone new to Fujis like myself it's good to see how I'm getting on with settling in to standard settings. Not quite there yet. Just the kind of video too for getting awareness of unfamiliar settings. Beginning to want to cut down the choices rather than leave them open for flexibility. It's reassuring to see someone who's established their craft and done something similar. I have to subscribe now because I've watched a good few of your videos. Many thanks!

    This was really helpful actually. Wrapping my head around setup for street has been a bit frustrating. I especially liked that last part where you described your process for focusing in different street situations. If you are on the move do you stay in manual focus mode and use back button focus? Or, do you set up zone focusing?

    • @TheLiamGordon
      @TheLiamGordon  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Charlie. Since making this video I’ve gradually switched to only using zone focus, as long as it’s day time. I’m generally set to f8 and about 7 feet on the 23mm, pretty much everything is in acceptable focus unless it’s really close.
      If I was to use a longer lens I’d stick with autofocus though.
      Simplifying things is tough when you’re still figuring it out, but enough fiddling over time and you’ll find what works for you ✌️

    Perphaps someone's already pointed out to you, but in case they haven't, lossless compression always means IDENTICAL to the original file - be it a camera RAW file or a song encoded in the FLAC format - so, 'good enough', given its inherent subjectivity, doesn't apply here. Just saying.

    • @TheLiamGordon
      @TheLiamGordon  2 года назад

      Yes someone else with technical knowledge said the same thing. In my mind it was like saying here’s a bus that seats 30 people but it’s half the size of every other 30 seater bus with no loss of space or comfort.

I then changed to CL and then dialed in iso and put on auto and shutter speed on auto and i got better results but still missed a few shots where people are close so maybe a Zone focus would be better do you think?

    • @TheLiamGordon
      @TheLiamGordon  4 года назад

      Paul Choccy T was the blur from a slower shutter or from focus? I tend to manual focus at f8 recently if it’s 23mm or wider. That way I can get everything from about 6ft to 30ft in focus at once. Although, with the xt4 you might get good use out of face detection. If it’s motion blur try setting the shutter to 1/500 or 1/1000, that should freeze most movement.

      The top dial is the master. But when you set it to “T” you can use the command dials. You can do something similar with ISO but when it’s set to “A”. You may have to enable it in the settings menu.
