It's crazy that you have to jump through so many legal hoops just to parent your own child as the father.

Some states are better than others about paternal rights. In this story it was because OP's GF moved states. If she had stayed where they were when she got prenant, he wouldn't have had all the paperwork and court case to deal with.

Op's ex: "you can't seriously want to be a single dad? Think about how badly that looks on ME. what about MY feelings?"
Screw her. That made me lose all respect for op's baby mama. Her main concern should have been how op planned to provide for this kid and not how op raising the child on his own would reflect on her. It says a lot about her willingness to go through with a pregnancy but not the steps making sure her child is going to be in good hands with the baby daddy that clearly wants to raise the baby.
Lol the mental gymnastics to claim op is a baby stealer when he stepped up after the baby mama was willing to ditch her responsibility. I think the real issue is baby mama's family doesn't want to admit baby mama is a deadbeat mom who threw away her child. It looks bad when the baby daddy is willing to step up and make sacrifices but not the mother of that child. So they're trying to damage op's credibility as a father and as a person.
Story 2 - woooooow. Op's father is garbage and op is the apple that dropped straight down from that tree full of trash. Op sucks. Her father caused the end of a 30+ year marriage and was indirectly responsible for the betrayed spouse to unalive himself but op thinks "yeah my dad still deserves an invite to my wedding". That's a really sick sense of humor, op. Op doesn't care about her fiancee. She only cares about her dream wedding. He was right to ghost op.

@@jacksonwhittier3646You SHOULD still be allowed to as a single parent... In states that don't support abortion, as horrible as the adoption system is, that's the only option for single mothers that can't support a child. I do agree the other parent needs to be considered first, but there needs to be a case by case basis for that to work.

    • @sweeety969
      @sweeety969 3 месяца назад +2

@@lildarkmatter8373 I mean in theory it seems like the right thing to do but what about cases where the sperm contributor assaulted the baby carrier or is in prison or is some sort of narcissist or sociopath who would use the baby against the birth mother and that's why they need to put the kid up for adoption, to protect it?
Like imagine a scenario where a 16 year old gets raped and doesn't want to keep it but her family is religious and forces her to carry it to term. And imagine she was assaulted by a family member who decides they want to keep the baby if it's a girl so they can assault it down the line. Now say she tells the police but there's not enough evidence to put the uncle or cousin or whatever away for rape. Now this kid is at risk of being adopted by the very same monster that created them because legally she has to make her abuser aware of her pregnancy and ask if he wants to adopt it? Nah.

@@sweeety969 This. It can be so easily exploited and frankly having to share personal details on these kinds of scenarios is re-traumatizing. I live in a state where abortion was banned and here's a more likely scenario; ex or whoever that was abusive and wants that kid as leverage or worse. This is why I said case by case BUT. I agree nothing ever works out as clearly as on paper, and I can see that system failing a number of kids.

You participated in activities that lead to pregnancy.

    It's not about you anymore
People are so friggin selfish. "My body, my choice? "
Yeah you chose to open your legs with someone you didn't want kids with.
What's crazy is that females want their baby daddies to pay child support and demand this and that from them. At the same time they don't wanna give the dad any rights to say yes or no to an abortion or adoption.
You want him to take responsibility for the baby and not put it all on you?
You gotta do the same thing. No one should be allowed to have an abortion or put a baby up for adoption without the consent of the father.
I saw a video of a man sobbing outside an abortion clinic. He was begging the girl "DON'T KILL OUR BABY!"
but no. No one cares about him. He has no rights.
    The women have rights right?
When you give your body to someone else and you get pregnant? It's not your body anymore

You were ready to have sex.
