    The part that gets me is that the parents took one look at OP struggling at school and deemed him a “bum” not all people are good at learning how schools teaches and then are labeled “dumb” when in reality they are just as smart or more smart than others, they just need to be taught differently and/or have the right people.

    Story 1: If the parents were that interested in having a relationship, they're 32 years too late. The brother was genuinely surprised by the truth and seemed understanding. Maybe they will have an opportunity to get closer moving forward? I dunno. OP is 50 now so maybe he'd feel like it isn't worth the hassle. Just don't reconcile with the rest of the family, that's for sure. They just want money and another 'trophy' for their mantle.
    Story 2: Sister never cared about OP. She jumped on the STBXH like a beech in heat the first chance she got.
    Story 3: Yet another example of why when you get union and legal help and advice, YOU FOLLOW IT. I hope she can stick it back to them in some way but sounds like she may just let it go altogether.

    Kicking out your own child at the age of 18 without any actual reason other than them being an "adult", is something I will never understand. If you dislike children and are clearly not capable of being a good parent, don't have them. It makes life easier for everyone.

    • @stirrednotshaken4837
      @stirrednotshaken4837 3 дня назад

      Yep, to kick them out and then expect a hug from them as they walk out of the door is just crazy. I have 2 kids and my partner has 6. Over the years, we have had at least 2 of them live with us, but we didn't charge rent with the stipulation that they earn money and save it to get their own place. Mission accomplished. but the point is that parents should care about their children, even when they are grown adults...because something will always pop up and they will need assistance, so help them if you can.

    It's nice to see a story where the former Golden Child isn't a pos.
    As far as story 2 goes, I wonder if the sister was infatuated with OP's life, as well as her husband. Dumping her kids makes me think that not having the responsibilities of her children was part of the equation. The sister and STBX are both scum and fools for ripping their families apart for nothing.

    Story 3: why ask for advice if you aren't going to take it? I would have gone to work everyday with a smile and notebook I'd fill withexact documentation of every action. The lawsuit for hostile work environment, harassment, and retaliation would have paid for my daughter's education and down payment for a house at the vary least.

    Story 1 - I was going to go easy on op's wife if she ran her argument based on emotions and ignorance but I can't cut her any slack. It's so easy for her to go on about family values when she was raised within a loving family. She should have heard op out first and sided with him. It really wasn't her business why op is choosing to distance himself from his family. It's worse that she knew and still pressured for op to be around people he doesn't want to reconcile with. They had so many years to reach out but they obviously didn't care if op was dead or alive or struggling. Her saving grace was the fact she didn't double down and at least admitted she was wrong.
    Story 2 - A WEEK? THEY ONLY LASTED A WEEK. 😂 Wooooooow. What about the fact that they were supposed to be soulmates?? I was spinning by all of the gaslighting. Holy moly. This is why people don't really think men and women can just be friends.
    Sister sounds like she's becoming unhinged because she gambled everything to be with her sister's sloppy seconds and he didn't want to be hooked up with a crazy person who abandoned her children. Maybe she thought she could have do-over children. I like how op's ex husband wouldn't admit he just used op's sister for sex and threw her out when she thought they were a serious couple. The audacity for her to say op ruined HER happiness, lol.
    Story 3 - op was pretty naive in the beginning but she's NTA. op had a solid case to sue on the grounds of a hostile work environment and retaliation. This was an obvious attempt to slander op's reputation before she got the idea to make a fuss and get lawyers involved. At least op's daughter seems to have a better head on her shoulders.

    S2 - if sister is really concerned, she never would have been so close to OP's husband. Infidelity happens because 2-people-engage not because it just happens. IMO - she was baiting OP's husband until sis finally broke and leave and she swooped in. She worked hard for years to put a "crack" on that marriage. She's not going to let it pass by. I highly doubt they actually have so many things in common if OP's husband suddenly broke up with him in just a week. He must have been manipulated mentally and emotionally to make it seem like they have "unique connection". Narcs are actually expert at this. They are like chameleon that changes depending on their target-partner/victim. Once they have their victim in their grasp - thats when they show their true colors. There's a reason she have kids with no husband. OP's husband must felt like he was bamboozled so he kicked her out fast. Sucks to be him. LOL

    I hope the HR department in the 3rd story rots in Hell. Honestly, what they did was illegal and, like the OP said, it was 10 years ago at uni, which doesn't count as an affair, especially if they were both single at the time. Some people really need to learn that stuff that happened in the past is none of their business.

    1st story - These stories are all the same. If the OP would only have a backbone there would be no stories. Like why couldn’t OP tell his wife why he’s NC with his family? After telling her if she still wants to gaslight you then you can divorce & go NC with her since they’re so much more important to her than her damn husband.Having a backbone saves you lots of heartache & bs. So I don’t feel sorry for doormats because at what point do you finally stand up for yourself? Never? Because “family”? OP’s wife can eff right off.
