Great video. I enjoyed the paint recipe but also the tips and tricks as you went along. Clear and concise narration and a skilfully painted model. Thanks.
Awesome and really helpful tutorial, this may come in handy in the future. Thanks for sharing 🙌. Do you mind sharing what colors you used for the bronze parts e.g. the sword hilt?
If I was doing a brown fur I would start with Rhinox Hide, Mournfang brown and then maybe into XV-88 or a 50:50 depending on how bright you want to go. I think this is a good starting point, you could play around with some washes over this or even add some cream colours in to lighten it up and give some variety across the models
great vid it helped me a lot to start painting my skaven blood bowl team :) only i have a questions, what colors you used to paint the skaven teeth? or any recommendations?
Thank you mate. Looking forward to seeing how they turn out. Any sort of yellow cream colour will work for the teeth to give them that stained look, you can even use some standard bone recipes with a flesh wash over the top and it should do the trick
The area where the fur and the skin meets looks good. Especially with no blending. How do you make such seemingly smooth transition? I think it is very difficult to determine where there is skin and where there is fur. Especially around muscles. Shouls they have fur? How much should a rat be used for reference for the skin/rat ratio
By adding texture to the fur it creates noise in those transition areas. This helps to create the transition and smooth out those areas. I think it's really down to your interpretation of the model and the sculpt. You can use real life references to help guide you but generally I'll always do the snout, hands and feet as skin and the rest as fur. Obviously there are some exceptions, rat ogres and mutants tend to have more skin
Thank you. I mainly Artis Opus Series S size 2 and 0 in this video. I've listed the ones I've used in the description and they come up during the video when I'm using them
It's part of the model holder. I use the rathcore mini grips and mini holders, heres the link elementgames.co.uk/paints-hobby-and-scenery/rathcore?d=10816 I think 70mm is a nice starting size
