      How did the painting go? 🙂 Was it as easy as this tutorial makes it look?

    • @1306pendine
      @1306pendine 3 месяца назад

      @@SFuruli yeah, I’d say so. It’s a good starting point and then I started to adapt it to how I wanted them to look! Took me plenty of attempts to get it to a standard I liked.

    • @SFuruli
      @SFuruli 3 месяца назад

      @@1306pendine I haven't tried painting yet, but the video definitely gave me confidence to try. Were there any things you found to be particularly hard? To me it seems getting a steady and precise hand is a big part of it!

    • @1306pendine
      @1306pendine 3 месяца назад +1

      @@SFuruli that’s the biggest thing for me. I don’t have a steady hand but it’s got better over time. Glazing method was too hard for me… still is, so I don’t do that technique.
      Just know your first are unlikely to look how you’d want them to, but keep practicing and you get there! Anything is better than Grey :)

    Came across your channel. I really like how you break things down so that we understand WHY we are doing what we do. I’m not as new of a painter but I think newer painters will absolutely benefit from you because of this. You have a way of explaining it a 5 year old could understand. And surprisingly that’s a skill in this day.
    People like me, benefit from it because I’m always looking to improve and you have an excellent grasp of how to use colors. I need to start thinking along those lines and also! I still sometimes struggle with thinning paints proper and application.
    Best advice man “it’s best to take your time and make the investment cause you can really see the difference” because there will always be more minis to paint. Until there isn’t! So like food, enjoy it!
    Thanks dude. I look forward to learning more!

    Thanks for this tutorial. I followed it to paint my very first tyranids and fairly pleased with the results. I did feel some of the extra highlighting was a bit over the top for a beginner like me but I attempted it anyway and the results were ...okay for a first attempt. As you've mentioned in your video (not sure if this or a space marine one) you've got to start somewhere and may not be great at it to begin with but I certainly learned a lot and there would be moments of greatness when getting a certain line right etc. before doing something to cause a bit of a mess haha. thinning it down with the lahmian medoum really helps keep its ability to work like a wash whilst being quite thin. just apply it once and try not to mess with it and let it do its thing. just remove excess where its building up where you don't want it to

      I tend to change out my brushes every 2-3 months. i'll also have about 3 on the go and use a variety of brushes rather than one brush for everything, this helps them last longer and just make sure they're cleaned often. You can get some brush soap and use that on them every so often

    How many layers of base paint you ended up doing ? Me after 2 layers and can spray still seems gray ish under a magnifying glass

    • @TableTopReadyYouTube
      @TableTopReadyYouTube  Месяц назад +1

      depends on the paint, some paint has weak pigment and need a few more layers, just keep going untill you get a solid colour. I can do upto 3 or 4 sometimes, but as long as you've thinned your paint, you'll be fine

      I couldn’t say. There are so many different acrylics out there. If I wasn’t using citadel i would use Vallejo. But I would stick to paint that is made for models and miniatures

      Thats a tough one, it depends how confident your feeling. I always say its absolutly acheievbale to do what I do in the tutroails. Go watch my getting started with 40k video, that goes into more details and explains a lot more. I also paint a nid in that

    • @TableTopReadyYouTube
      @TableTopReadyYouTube  7 месяцев назад

      Wriathbone is a very high pgmented paint. If you find it too thick to work with just thin it down with a little more water than you normally would. thin muyltiple layers is always better

    This is really useful just starting out here however it is really annoying that the tyranids set with the termagents and ripper swarm that comes with paints doesn’t include the emperors children paint as this seems really important to the models. Will have to go back to my local shop

A little piece of advice, if you are looking straight in the camera it can feel uncomfortable for the viewer you can pick up a miniature and look at it switch your focus. Otherwise I great work that I will watch again and again until my army is painted!
