That’s an interesting angle. The only real reason that the clone wars was even close was because the separatists were never supposed to win

@@cassielov3 and got rid of the majority of Rebel states before the empire was even born.....leaving the peace loving hippy rebels (eg naboo)
Nah, the Republic was seriously hamstrung by Palpatine as well. The clones were used so that planets wouldn't begin raising their own military and industrial development for their defense. Similarly the major industrial backers for the separatists were allowed to continue operating in the Republic even as their armies marched. In an actual war the Republic would hold the vast majority of the industrial power and manpower reserves and be capable of cutting the separatists off at the knees. It would be a galactic war and stretch on for decades in all likelihood but the republic would almost certainly win.
The empire was supposed to win not the republic or seprirst

Technically some of them did. I'm pretty sure poor Greivous actually tried to win the war. He didn't understand what Palpatine meant when he said "The end of the war is near"-he meant the Seps were gonna lose-Greivous was confused as the Seps were getting their asses kicked and Dooku was dead and Greivous thought Sidious wanted to actually help him win.
I kind of feel bad for Grievous, he was basically killed fighting for his peoples independence and the Jedi slaughtered his people because their enemies tricked the Jedi. He then get manipulated by Dooku who blew his ships up almost killing him, then he fights a war he is losing even though he is trying incredibly hard to win it.
@@toby1061
Yea, Greivous's entire life was just the universe fucking him over. His planet fucked over, his body destroyed, his mind chained, his one last driving goal doomed to failure.
Appletank8 And when you think of it, he probably committed less war crimes than Anakin. He also had a family, and he was fucked by the Jedi because they fought for some corrupt species who were in the senate, when that species murdered Greivous’s best friend and family. Him wanting to kill all the Jedi is highly justified since they literally massacred his people.

@@roberthawkins4524 I see where you are coming from, but you may have unintentionally moved the goal post. I stated that he would get clapped in a duel, I did not say he would get clapped in a lightsaber duel (Though taking down three masters until he was 1v1ing Windu is a feat I don't believe Dooku could achieve but that is just my opinion.) If it were just lightsabers, Dooku would have a much better chance. However, seeing as Sidious in his duels as shown is not portrayed as limiting himself to just a lightsaber I don't believe that he would limit himself against Dooku either.
It's interesting to think that one of Count Dooku's probable conditions in a peace scenario might actually be the balkanisation of the Jedi Order as the Count himself wanted to reform a new order in his liking.
Dooku could have just exposed Palpatine as the Sith Lord after the battle and publicly revealed the whole plan to play both sides. Also Count Dooku still wouldn't have been able to take on Yoda on Geonosis by himself. Maybe he would just run after the battle before challenging Yoda. Then after exposing Palpatine he could try and join Yoda and the council to go deal with him.
TFEA A Not really, Yoda was way stronger in the force and his lightsaber skills were some of the best. Dooku was a good duelist but Yoda was way more powerful in the force.
@TFEA A Nope. He was being outfought prwtty much the whole fight, hence why he had to distract Yoda by making him hold up rhat giant pillar while he escaped...
The battle between Obi-Wan and anakin wore him down, two back to back fights can take a toll especially when one of them is a formidable opponent.
Eddapults Tab Both Obi Wan and Anakin are formidable, Obi Wan took on Dooku in a 1v1 in Geonosis. Obi Wan also beat the guy who beat Dooku so I would say he was just tired from fighting two of the best duelists.
@@toby1061 they are capable jedi, but it was easy to tell that dooku was toying with them. At that time the padawan While talented and powerful had little discipline and composure, qualities needed to compete with a seasoned veteran like dooku.
The thing about Count Dooku is that he wasn't really a Sith Apprentice. He was really more of a anti-hero then a Sith. Mostly because he just wanted to rebuild a better version of the Jedi Council and the Republic. Because the Republic was a corrupt government.

I imagine Palpatine had a contingency plan for just about every scenario. Including his apprentice betraying him. I would expect that to be one of the first things he planned for.
Its likely, and a huge betrayal of the Sith philosophy established by Darth Bane, with the Rule of Two. "The Sith lineage must never end with you", and "If that thought (that the apprentice must inevitably kill their master) frightens you, then the Sith have already suffered a fatal infection" are quotes that come to mind. Maybe if Palpatine didn't have such an obsession with old Sith myths, and a equaly great disregard for one of their most important rules, maybe he wouldn't have nearly ended the entire Order in the first place
Ya, shut down codes, back channels to important figures in the CIS, and perhaps personally taking him out seem like good options. I mean he force choked him from across the galaxy. Wonder if he could fully kill him that way.

Now I want a "What If" novel or comic series about Dooku betraying Palpatine starting at the battle of Geonosis going forward... I think it would be amazing! Maybe even include Dooku getting a vision of Palpatine's betrayal as the reason he strikes out first.
I think palpatine had a plan. He probably saved some clones and told the kaminoan to only say 200,000 are ready when in reality a lot more were. Palpatine is a mastermind so I don’t think he was dumb enough to send his entire army out. The war would be more of a draw with palpatines plan failing but the republic ultimately winning whilst having peace with the separatists
an interesting thought occurred to me near the end of this video: with all the forces at his command during the battle of Geonosis, Count Dooku was basically the Star Wars version of One Punch Man. had he decided to, he could have ended the battle right then and there.
Dooku: "There's.... Too many of them."
Gunray: "What? No there isn't. We outnumber them 20 to 1. Not including the 2 million battle droids we have in reserve in orbit."
Dooku: "Right. We SHOULD send all available droids into battle."
Dooku thought he knew Palpatine like the back of his hand. It truly left him stumped
I just don't know how the jedi didn't know the war was set up when the template for their whole army was working with the enemy
He is a bounty hunter
You pay, he kills
He has no political ideas
One would also think the Jedi would be wary of a mandalorian clone army. Given how the Mandos are sworn enemies of the Jedi and the Republic in Kotor era. That peaceful Mandalore, whether Disney or EU, only lasted a few decades, and even then Deathwatch was still a thing.
@@Grivehn The New Mandalorians made a swearsies that Jango Fett was totally not a Mandalorian 😉

Like I always said, the Separatists are the true good guys. At least, for me. Also, this always make me wonder one thing. Isn't it obvious for Dooku from the very start that he will be betrayed? After all, that's what the Sith do most of the times. I can't believe that he actually was willing to go along with his master's plan and being rewarded with dead sentence.
He was too arrogant. He believed sidious could not succeed without him, which is true to an extent, but once the clone war ended he had no further use
i think he already know that he's going to get betrayed. why do you think he wants obi-wan to side with him instead of straight up kill him? and don't forget that when palpatine ordered him to kill his sith assassin ventress in the clone wars tv series he seems to not want to do it
He didn't know sidious wanted to replace him with anakin
It's difficult to not see the Separatists as the underdogs for me. They aren't even using people for the majority of their fights, they're using droids who don't have sapience....at least at first. That said, while their main goal is justified, they also committed tons of war crimes. Granted, they didn't start their war crimes until Anakin and the other Jedi & Republic were far into committing them.
I feel they're a symptom of a political problem within the Republic, but they're still really bad.
Palpatine is always several steps ahead of everyone. I'm sure he made plans to deal with Dooku if he ever had any big ideas for betrayal. We're talking about the guy who force choked Dooku through a holo during conversation and hunted down Maul and Savage like it was a quick trip to get milk.
hahahhaa
I can't believe you just called the Neimoidians "Trandoshans", you can't do that, shoot him, or something.
I thought he called Geonocians that.
There's really no difference between the two.
But as General Kalani once said that the probability of the Separatist Alliance being defeated was like 20 odd per cent.
Palps needed the Separatists to lose, for the Republic to become the Empire
Dooku never had the drive or ambition to try and rule the galaxy by himself and didn’t have the bravery to go against palp’s

@@dynamicheatwave9949 True. Palpatine would have taken out Dooku and then used Grivious atrocities to justify a conscript army, at least to win some time. During a year or some months the Rebublic could build their own battle droids and use industrial superiority to to negate the early numerical advantage of the CIS.
@@timmerk7363 How? The Republic doesn’t have access to the materials and factories in the Outer Rim. Nor do they have the raw economic power of the CIS, they had to nationalise the banks in TCW just to stay afloat. Furthermore, the populace just doesn’t care about the Outer Rim.
Dooku would very easily gain the support of Mother Talzin. She could find Maul for him. Maul, Dooku, Talzin, Ventress, Savage and an entire clan of juiced up, highly skilled Dark Side Night Sisters and zabrak warriors.

Then the remaining Jedi would either kill/arrest palps with public approval or leave the Republic and go into hiding or something... Dooku should have been more Sith like he might have ended up ruling the Galaxy not just being palps 2nd fiddle under ideal circumstances...
Also I'm sure Palpatine must have explained the Rule of Two to Dooku early on so the first time Palps mentioned recruiting Anakin should have been a big red death flag! 😆
The reason why he looks so surprised is because Palpatine has assured him that he would step in when Anakin had him beaten
Maybe the reason why Sheevy Boy ordered the CIS to retreat was so the republic would have trust in the Clones efficiency therefore giving them no reason to find another army and then ruining Sheevs grand plan!

except we are shown them being easily shot down in the clone wars series by relatively small separatist ground artillery systems. they are big easy targets and little else in canon.
@@matthiuskoenig3378 That’s because their shields were probably a lot weaker down there than they were in the front or top. I mean, these are still artillery pieces; they’re not exactly small in calibre. Even then, they were only able to take down (and that’s a maybe) one Acclamator, which still looked pretty intact save for an engine. And this is just one battle. Judging the performance of a weapon and/or tool solely on a singular products performance is foolish and naive at best, and downright stupid at worst. And for your information, those “small separatist ground artillery systems” are used in the ships-of-the-line of the CIS fleet. So yeah, I agree with shepard1707 that these things were made for blockade running...although definitely en masse. With support.
@@banzeyegaming2234 But that doesn't make sense, if the ship was designed to land even under extreme resistance, their ships would be shielded below as well because that's where the enemy fire will come from when landing on the ground. On top of that, the only reason more ships didn't come down was because the Jedi pulled the cruisers back once they began taking damage, and even though the Accamator "looked pretty intact" doesn't matter because we see it instantly begin to fall the moment the engine was knocked off.
@@wayothefro3249 I never said they weren’t shielded, I just said they weren’t *as* heavily shielded down there. Also, you are completely ignoring what I said about them being used in the CIS fleet. And no vessel is perfect; I mean, to draw an example from IRL, the Yamato was essentially the perfect battleship, and it still sunk. And the cannon could have gotten a lucky shot in, like how how the Bismarck one-shotted the Hood due to sheer luck. Also, we never explicitly see the Acclamator crash. For all we know, they were able to stabilize it before it hit the ground.

I've really got to hand it to you. those puns at the start worthy of applause
These videos make me appreciate Dooku more and more as a character, or more specifically the unrealized possibilities of his character.
Also another thing, if Dooku decided to rebel later on in the Clone Wars, is that he was the one who made the order to the Kaminoans, so at any point he could've modified the control chips to not listen to Sidious, to attack Sidious instead on order 66 and all other sorts of things, and then wait out until enough forces were produced
Now I want to see an alternate timeline where Dooku does rebel against Palpatine and the CIS actually goes for the win. Dooku wasn't even a sith, he was a dark jedi with grey morals. he didn't use rage, he used class and charisma and at times genuinely seemed like he wanted the best for people.

I feel like the battle of Geonosis would have been too early for Dooku to rebel against Sideous.
I think one of the occasions where he had to test Anikains skills would have been the right moment to rebel.
Knowing of Anikains increasing skillset, the plan to covert him to the Dark side and the rule of two Dooku would have realised that he was about to be replaced with someone a lot younger.
Whilst Anikain was not as skilled as Dooku he got close as the war went on and given both his age and mediclorian level it was obvious that he would outskill him eventually.
At this point he could have used his knowledge about the grand plan and the clones to enact Order 65 via a proxy and remove Palpatine.
Getting Padme into the position of chancellor wouldn't have been too hard and given her connection to some separatist senators she could have ended the war in a peace treaty, leaving the Outer Rim open for trade but independent.
Glad you brought up the republic commandos bit. "QUADRILLIONS"
Knowing Palps he wouldn't have left Dooku just running around freely, the old fart had contingency plans for everything after all.
Count Dooku's hand-to-hand combat skills are unmatched across the galaxy.
What would happen if Plagueis survived/body-surfed Palpatine’s assassination.
According to the now non-canon novel "Darth Plagueis," after killing Palpatine he would have made Dooku his apprentice. Dooku was always his insurance policy against Palpatine, or in the event Palpatine did not meet his expectations. Plagueis had been watching Dooku for decades and he was very impressed by Dooku's dueling ability (he considered him a real threat, an equal in swordsmanship if not superior), knowledge and power in the Force. He considered him the strongest Jedi aside from Yoda. He knew all about Dooku's independent streak as well. So he was fully prepared to try to turn him.
Dooku's only real shot at becoming the Sith Lord master himself was to destroy his master with the help of an apprentice. Like if he had successfully turned Obi-Wan. Or, simply switching sides again and TELLING YODA WHO SIDIOUS WAS.
Dooku could've HANDled the clone wars so much better if he was allowed to.
Count Dooku would have a grip on the galaxy and Grevious would serve a a fiery warrior
Simple answer, they probably could. They had way more troops and technology and it was only because the Emperor rigged the game against them that they didn't.
I know this is going to sound like im trying to rain on the parade, but its confirmed in all versions of the star wars verse that palpatine had a deactivation code hidden away in the seperatist droid programing, just incase the very thing GT is describeing should have ever come to pass, and is exactley what he did after the "Clone Wars" came to an end leaveing the remaining sepratist hold outs with only their organic troops and officers left to be slowly be picked off and/or destroyed, or eventually become some of the first officers/troops of the rebbellion.
Do you have a source? I read that too somewhere but can't find it.

I’m pretty sure the CiS had a reactivation code and Dooku could always have all his droids checked to make sure their would be no tampering, I mean some Seperatist generals were able to block the deactivation code so it wouldn’t necessarily defeat the CIS.
I gotta hand it to you, great video. You make a compelling argument for what Dooku could’ve done if he tried to win it for the Separatists, but I disagree with one premise. Omg! At 00:45 I re-watched like 3 times! You crack me up man!
“I’ve been looking forward to this.”
I feel like in a world where count dooku didn’t try until after the first battle, like for example if he only realized what was happening after geonosis, the republic might have been able to have a prolonged war, maybe not as long, but kamino could have been expanded and maybe with that extra time they would’ve even been able to have a chance
it doesn't matter if kamino is expanded clones still take 10 years to make, all the clones in the clone wars were all they were going to have.
now they can recruit non-clones like in legends, but you end up with lower skilled troops and greater backlash for casualties. think a mixture of vietnam and ww2 eastern front.
@@matthiuskoenig3378 Canon fodder type of clones with low training and being prone to go mad can be made in a couple of months. Just produce them en masse and you're good, just don't let them live for too long, or they are gonna become insane
@@bizmasterTheSlav that still has the issue of lower quality troops, and you still have several months to make them. And they are still expensive compared to droid or conscripts.
Love all your hand puns XD
I have a cool idea for a video, how would the galaxy or the civilians of the galaxy be affected by another jedi sith war with war with all the new technology and super weapons. For it to be far the Sith would have a sort of clone army or droid army so they stand a chance
One key factor would be Dooku having an apprentice that he was confident was powerful enough to help him challenge sidous, maybe if he hadn’t help back on ventress, but the reality was that Palpatine would of found and killed Dooku as soon as he diviated from the plan. Similar to what he did to Maul in mandalor
From the beginning, Count Dooku should've just asked the Kaminoans to add Palpatine to the list of people who get shot during Order 66, since he single-handedly selected everything including Jango as the template.
He also should've taken more initiative in the production of droids, since the Techno Union managed to devise a Super Battle Droid prototype that was constructed with a metal alloy which was immune to both lightsabers and blaster fire, yet Palpatine decommissioned it.
that was a handy string of puns
Never thought of it this way
My master would never betray me.
I gotta *hand* it to you, your loyalty is admirable.
Too bad you didn't play your *hand* very well.
They practically *handed* you victory.
But I guess I guess Palpatine had too strong a *grip* on you.
@@tonystank3091 I may have lost my hands and head by Skywalker but still am able to type by the sheer will of the force
the change
Stop it, Allen. Those jokes on disarmed Dooku are getting out of hand. This is straight up bullying.
He's simply pointing out that fact how Dooku failed to grab hold the opportunity while it was within in his reach.
@@Connor.SG-1Ring Yeah, the situation slid out of his grasp.
Dooku jsut didn’t grasp the reality of his situation.
He got handed a shitty deal
I mean, his fate really wasn't even in his own hands.
Palpatine out here playing chess with himself
I love this theory. There needs to be a Star Wars what if and this definitely needs to be in it.
Can I just say, I would watch and entire video of just hand puns.
Just the roasting of dooku's fucking hands jesus
5:20 one theory suggests that “200 thousand units, with a million more on the way” was was only talking about Tipoca City, not the planet as a whole.
Unless Palpatine had a button on the droid army, it really does seem that Dooku could have taken over anytime he wanted.
In the end, Dooku lost his touch 😀
Wooow it's so great that you made this video
I'm actually making a what if choice based game where you play from Dooku's perspective, so I was wondering about many possible scenarios and Dooku rebelling was one of them
Great to see your perspective!
Such a welcome surprise that video was!
he kept replaying the scene when his hands were cutoff everytime he mentions something about a hand
I'd love to see this play out
