    I agree with every comment here; Chrissy has always been the embodiment of class, beauty, intelligence and talent in music since the early 70s; and he (Jools) just gives her the brush-off; about 20 seconds? WTF? She normally does not do interviews, this was a great opportunity to ask her some deep questions; (and I don't give a shit about Ed Sheeren) ; I mean...nothing? Explaining why she took 20 years off from touring simply because of her fear of flying?..That Mick talked her into coming back by just letting her play the piano at his house in Hawaii...That there was never any animosity between her and Stevie; they actually adored each other; that she still loves John MacVie and always will.....Maybe she told Jools ahead of time that nope..no questions...?

    • @yeahiagree1070
      @yeahiagree1070 7 лет назад +6

      scott FabT-Birds79 The show is for live music, not interviews. He always chats with the guests for literally a few minutes at most. I imagine she was comfortable going on the show for this exact reason. Just a little talking and spend the rest of the night enjoying the show without having to repeat her life story in a tv studio.

    • @ScottyColoradoKid
      @ScottyColoradoKid 7 лет назад +4

      Jay Wilk; Yer so right, dude....this is NOT an interview show; strictly performance-based content...and it is Great! and Jools knows everybody in the music biz personally, especially from the 70s; (But then why does he even bother with these 3-minute chats?) Hey lets credit him for providing a showcase for live music talent from every genre; Jazz, Rock, Blues, Funk, Soul, Indie, R&B, (and I will be honest & say that I really like it that he does NOT showcase Rap/Hip-Hop); But Its amazing to me how many people (mostly my fellow Americans) have absolutely no idea who Jools is, or his history in music; I got a little passionate in my last comment about Chris because I had just read Mick Fleetwood's book about their (FM) history and I would just so much like to see her talking about all these things

      What I appreciate about her writing the most is her melodies - they are superior, especially on the Tango album. "Little Lies" could almost be a Brian Wilson song. I also love the gorgeousness of "As Long As You Follow," which came a bit later. She actually got better as she matured, kind of unusual in rock/pop music.

      @@jcwhitejade "snarky and dismissive"... ridiculous sweeping statement. We have so much talent here that sometimes there isn't enough time to give everyone a long enough slot. Adele is a great singer I think, I just don't like her style of song she chooses to usually go with. Christine is talented, yes. Love FM ever since their early Peter Green/Danny Kirwan days, before she was even a member.. but she did tend to sing a bit sharp or flat. I think this explains why many FM songs even within the same record are at different pitch standards. OTOH she deserves credit for practically saving the band in the mid to late 70s especially like on Tusk she wrote imho most of the good songs

    My acquaintance with Fleetwood Mac began from songs like “little lies” and “everywhere”. As everyone I suppose, i started learning more about band’s history as i was getting more curious. And it appeared to me very strange, that everyone was mentioning Stevie Nicks, what a huge star she was, and not mentioning Christine. Because for me, it was already Christine’s voice that established image of the FM in my mind. Now that i’ve listened to many of their songs and enjoying their art more and more, i’m a bit upset that, Christine didn’t get as much of a recognition as Stevie did. Definitely, they are both very talented and charismatic ladies, but for me the heart of FM is Christine ❤️

    • @turdferguson7264

      Christine purposefully gave away the 'front and centre' role in FM. It was her that gave the blessing for Nicks and Buckingham to join. She never enjoyed being a focal point, and much preferred being off to the side with her percussion instruments.

    Still gorgeous at 70 and ever-talented. I guess even a minute is better than nothing, but I thought Holland's perfunctory interview was almost insulting to a lady who has 50 years in the music business in one of the biggest bands ever and who has written, sung and sung on some of the most recognisable songs ever recorded. Even when Fleetwood Mac was at possibly its lowest ebb (during the Dave Mason/Bonnie Bramlett era), she still wrote and performed some beautiful songs.

    Classy lady, always has been.
    Although when it comes to naming Fleetwood Mac songs she wrote, seemingly everybody fails to mention "As long as you follow" which in my opinion should be named as one of her best.

      That's a great one. My favorite Christine song for Fleetwood Mac is Brown Eyes from Tusk. Warm Ways is another great one that is not well known.

    • @cunard61
      @cunard61 7 лет назад +1

      "Say You Love Me" was one of her best ever. Her song "Why" was never released as a single but it should have been, it's the best song off the album "Mystery to Me".

    • @redletter2008
      @redletter2008 7 лет назад +2

      cunard61 - Why should of been on the Best of Fleetwood Mac collection.

    • @cunard61
      @cunard61 7 лет назад +4

      I agree about her song Why, Brown Eyes, Over and Over, and Honey Hi were also great songs. The Tusk album has a lot of forgotten gems of hers, Think About Me, was another. She's been a very prolific songwriter.

      +redletter Warm Ways is my favorite off of their self-titled album from 1975. Next time you listen to that song, note how similar the organ playing is to How Deep is Your Love by the Bee Gees, which would appear two years later!
