That voice and that guitar - timeless combination. Just brilliant.
This song always gave me ' chills ' . She has a very ethereal way of singing , rather haunting actually , and that is what makes it a great song for me . I totally agree about the ' timeless combination ' . Music carries so many memories for everyone ; a wonderful gift .
they may not have been good for one another, but God, they were 'perfect' together.
Perfect comment.
Absolutely
indeed

It's already been said here a few times, but worth saying once more. Lindsey Buckingham is a supreme guitar player.
My fav is oh well part 2
eh how that voice is recording in the recording make merry wonderment the guitar gets musical great thank you Stevie
It has been said too seldom. Lindsey Buckingham is indeed a supreme guitar player
When Fleetwood Mac is on tour and Lindsey is not part of the band it takes two guitarists to replace him.
Finger Picker, very difficult to master!
When she put her hand on his back during the solo, you can hear Lindsey really dig into the strings more. Powerful love.
Yeah I teared up at that moment.
I love how they alway do this with each other.
No matter what their live will always b there❤
Their LOVE
She's acting like a prison guard with this little power play. He's best without her.
This song never gets old. It is perfect. The lyrics, the guitar, the voice. Brings tears to my eyes every time.
Imagine getting tickets for Letterman thinking you're going to hear jokes and a couple of interviewes and you get treated to this.
I was at this taping, it was unbelievable.
Yeah, wow
You got that right!!
Thank you Stevie for a lifetime of countless warm and happy memories listening to your voice! You are a legend!!
Lindsey loves her so much, and Stevie loves him, too.
They way she walked around behind him and put her hand on his shoulder and then she turned to the left and looked him straight in the eye for just a moment. Talk about non-verbal communication. That was just precious.
WOW!!!!!
Sometimes, you just can't mix business with pleasure. Can you imagine the he'll they went through? I'm sure it was painful for both of them for a long time. Such gifted musical talent.
God Bless Them
Love this song…..good to see the chemistry never really left Stevie and Lindsey…..
This is a timeless performance . Just as good as for a stadium full . She sings the song just the way she recorded it . She has her stage act polished years ago and brings a bit of a vamp act with her look . Lindsey Buckingham is one hell of a guitarist . He doesn't change one note . He recorded a perfect part and that's the way he performs it live . Some of their earlier concerts he gets to stretch out playing live , and he is a virtuoso player . He has lots of class and so does she . A class act together .
Her voice is just amazing! There are so many covers online of this song and only Stevie Nicks can make you feel like she means it.
There are a couple of Shorts which showed up tonight, reporting that the Smashing Pumpkins and The (Dixie) Chicks covered this song, but as you so eloquently stated, only Stevie can make you feel the depth and emotion of this song, as she wrote the lyrics.
Lindsey playing two parts, simultaneously and seemingly effortlessly. People know he's good, but I don't think most people get *how* good he is.
What 2 parts?
@@TheLochs LB plays rhythm and lead melodic lines, two parts. Not that LB is not superb, but that's fairly standard for finger picking guitarists.
This is what you call fingerpicking and really nothing special.
@@peterg.1940 Creating something this timeless and beautiful is really something special. I can fingerpick some of his songs, but never in a million years could I have created them from scratch. Big difference.
I know how good he is😊
I'm 42 years old and this is one of my favorite songs ever. It reminds me of my mom and Aunty Linda 🕊❤ R.I.P.
David Letterman presents Stevie Nicks. You ain’t dreaming’, life was this good.
I don't think many ppl realize what an incredible guitar player he is.
Pick up a guitar you'll find out quick, for sure.
No
Most people know he’s an incredible guitarist
Always one of the best underrated no picks
Tbh most people do actually know how amazing he is. 😂
I do😊
The moments she sings with no accompaniment, it takes real talent to do that. Just her voice ringing out to all of us. Thank you Stevie for a lifetime of beautiful music!
One of the greatest songwriters of our era, Stevie is a rare talent. And Lindsay can pick a song or two.
I agree she is an impressive lyricist with a unique vocal style. Does she compose the music, or does Lindsey handle that side of it?
@@GCKelloch Stevie in her own words writes skeletal melodies - then Lindsey works his "magic". She said she played Landslide for him, then he played it for her and she cried because he made it so beautiful. He's only ever taken co-writer credit on Frozen Love because of it's 4 minute solo.
Aside from their amazing voices and songs, what I love most is that with simple gestures, Stevie retreats and allows the spotlight to be on other band members when she's not singing, giving others the solos they deserve. Either she turns her back to the crowd, disappears out of the spotlight or in this case, kind of hide behind Lindsey. This clearly shows the love and respect she has for him and showcases his talent.
We know their history. Beautiful.
Also note how he expertly manages dynamics and phrasing, varying his volume with the mood of each passage and shaping his fills and ornamentations to enhance the vocal line.
Dave's shows always had the best music. So many amazing performances over the 33 years.
And BAND...
TRUTH 💯%!!
No. His shows didn't ALWAYS have "the best music". On this particular night, yes!
@@thomassicard3733 In the aggregate, yes, always the best music.
@thomassiYES..THEY DID. YOU JUST HAD TO KNOW
Sadest song ever. Brings tears to your eyes.
Sad but a reminder that renewal comes after an end.
Crawl a few miles over broken glass just to see her. Let alone see and hear her sing this great song. Might have to drag Lindsey along, just to accompany Stevie. One of the best clips/sounds ever!
This is what comes from great song writing, incredible vocals, paired with incredible musicianship. Classic.
This is a great live version!! Two very talented beautiful people!!
How perfect is this performance?
I get goosebumps when seeing these 2 wonderful musicians perform this song together. It's a shame they never stayed together......
But they did.Right there on that stage. Still together.
Stevie Nicks is simply fantastic. I love her voice and her distinctive look. Great hair and a really beautiful woman. A real natural treasure for the world.
What a great guitar player world class and Stevie well that voice just amazing x
Such a magical musical pairing.
Lord help us to handle the seasons of our lives, we need your strength, you will be there to see us through.
Thank you Stevie, Lindsay and Fleetwood Mac for sharing your gifts with us all, your music touches our hearts.
Perfect chemistry 💘
IDK if can say this right but they've performed so often it's not only a gift to hear them but it's humbling to watch how comfortable they are on stage in front of a mic.
Honestly, an iconic performance of an iconic song. Pretty special.
Our homegirl Stevie! Arizona loves you!
The sound on this is amazing. I feel this is the best live performance of Landslide.
Stevie sounds so clear and beautiful
Damn near brought me to tears. Seriously.
No formula here. Just a moment of pure magic.
Crying watching this, just beautiful.
What can I say about this performance? It brings tears to my eyes. It reminds me that my beautiful musical support system people are, also, only temporary. All the talent that we Boomers have been so graced with in our lives will still be here for as long as the following generations find them! This is one that I hope will be sustained for generations! Thank you, Stevie and Buckingham and all of Fleetwoodmac. May you be remembered forever!
You would be surprised at how Stevie influenced Taylor Swift, and how many "Swifties" know this song as well as any by Taylor. These twentysomethings and even tweeners love Stevie Nicks. She has that "something". That undefinable quality that lasts and passes through generations. I've been graced to see it in person, as I live in Nashville, where most young ladies are influenced by Taylor. But I've been privileged to see them have " Stevie Nicks" nights. Stevie Nicks- truly one in a billion.
2 Legendary performers !
Beautiful moment starting at 2:28 when Stevie goes behind Lindsey and puts her hand on his shoulder during Lindsey's solo interlude
Thanks for pointing that out I was multi tasking and listening not watching.
Pity she manipulated the band to kick him out after 40 years when he was the one who refused to join unless they took her too.
She always does that when they perform it live.
@@NR-rv8rz "Pity she manipulated the band to kick him out after 40 years"....what? 😂
She demanded that unless the band kick him out, she will quit. They chose to kick him out. Ergo, she manipulated the band to kick him out. He had been in the band for 40 years. Ergo she manipulated the band to kick him out after 40 years.@@bigelile07
Amazing. To watch Lindsey play is truly something special. So talented all of them. ❤
One of the most beautiful songs ever written. So visual are the lyrics and the tune is haunting. I ask myself all the time; Can I handle the seasons of my life? I don't know either. LOL.
2023: goosebumps from this.... perfection these two. Thank you for the gift of your talents and love ❤️
She played this as her encore in Chicago last weekend. Such a beautiful song.
My wife and I were at this taping, it was spellbinding and gives me chills to see it again. I believe Mick Fleetwood sat in with the band on percussion that night as well.
Damn. I'm getting older too... This is beautiful. Glad I found this...
You talk about the best love story of all time, Stevie Nicks an Lindsey Buckingham love for one another is most definitely apparent durng their live performances, especially when its just them two and a acoustic guitar ✌️😎
Love her!!! The landslide brought me down but we got up. God bless
Unreal. This song has been covered countless times.....and these original two still do it Best. & LIVE, as well.....!!
Unbelievable performance. So tight, so intimate, so vulnerable. A great song performed to its fullest potential.
Just what I needed tonight, Stevie, Lindsey and Dave.! Thank you. 🙏
Such great artist
Those two make beautiful music together!
Her voice is flawless here. Great performance by both
This IS pure talent right here...what a team they once made.
🎸🎤❤❤
Such a great performance of one of my all time favorites.
Now that's how you sing with passion! Wow - that was so good.
Already a favourite song for me, but this performance was just amazing.
That was one loaded show.
Good lord I was thinking the same thing! Icons, icons, & more icons.
My favorite performance of this song.
Beautiful live! What a voice… nice!😊
So much talent! My favorite song
One of my first concerts in NZ love you still and always.💖
Lindsay is always been a brilliant guitar player and his musicianship shines in this performance, but in his prime he was actually one of my favorite male vocalists.
Buckingham the best finger style rock guitarist ever!
Her voice can sound haunting. (SILVER SPRINGS )🤠
In my opinion, the greatest female rock voice and the greatest guitar picker
They were amazing together
I don't think anybody will ever be able to explain to me how this song is so beautiful.
And I hope that they never will.
Perfection, so beautiful from two wonderfully talented artists... Yip, pity they can't sort out differences... Just never happen.. We love you guys..
this is simply....rock history...and perfection ❤....I'm weepy
A vocalist and a guitar player. Live. As good as it gets.
What a beautiful voice. The queen of a heartfelt ballad!😎
Love,perfect together ❤️
Makes my heart swell. Thank you.
Both are amazing ❤❤❤
So much nostalgia for me as we wore this record out in my first year of college! The memories!
The lyrics, the playing, the arrangement, always sends shivers through me.
Masterpiece!
So much perfection.
Stevie wrote this song after having a big fight with Lindsey. The lyrics are so raw and personal. What a great song.
Stevie & Lindsey are true soulmates!!! They are meant to be together.
Obviously, the chemistry and spark is still there!!
Deep down, they deeply love and care about eachother inspite of the petty drama.
I believe they will find their way back to eachother again someday. ❤❤❤
But didn't Stevie have Lindsey 'kicked out' of the band in 2018? Too bad.
Are you unaware that this clip is from 1998? 22 years ago. They most likely have deep feelings between them that's more so based on the music they've created, the many live performances, and that music's effect on their fans. But soulmates? No. I think she never got over what happened between them and has very complicated feelings toward him. He moved on, found someone else, and they had kids. Nicks wound up alone. You wanna talk petty drama? What Nicks pulled in 2018 is the very definition of that.
In the afterlife, perhaps.
Total nonsense; the two of them haven’t even had a meaningful discussion in decades. Lindsey moved on ages ago.
This is Music!!
No audience participation & THANK GOD FOR THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Listening to that is just beyond words ❤
Look at the way Stevie looks at Lindsay, true love of a soulmate
Always a favorite!!❤❤❤❤
Dave had so many great musical acts. this was 25 years ago! Lindsey is such a great guitarist. this song always goes right through my soul
Everytime i played this song the tears rolling over my cheek, so beautiful!
Love these 2 ❤
Magical🙏
A voice and a guitar, nothing better. Stevie’s lyrics and voice are timeless
beautiful song . awsome guitar work .. so classy ... it ages well
just perfection!
Amazing. Fleetood Mac alum: Two great singer songwriters. One great singer songwriter/guitarist/producer. And one of the greatest & most underrated drummers in the history of rock music.
What a tragedy that they can't reconcile their differences and make great music together again.
Stevie nicks is on tour tho so there’s that to look forward to this year :)
a tragedy is when people die in an inexplicable circumstance - This is hardly that
Lindsey is very HAPPILY married to whom he refers to as his “soulmate.”
Too bad is right. It didn’t help matters when she told the band that she wasn’t going to perform with FM anymore performing with Lindsay so they had to pick Stevie but damn what a shame she had to be so such a brat about it.
It is sad the band had become so dysfunctional ….great talent that ultimately outgrow each other.
There will never be a show like Late Night with Letterman! He was the best with his unique style and great musical guests!
To me, they're the First Couple of American Rock and Roll. Period. If they had only stayed together, can you imagine how beatitud and talented their children would've been? Sigh...
She never wanted any children and still maintains that
They sound so good, and Stevie is still one of the most gorgeous women alive.
There was a girl that hung out with me and my pals in college 40 years ago (we were musicians) that could have been her twin! But alas, she chose the drummer over the lead singer/guitarist. Still breaks my heart to this day 😢.
