I have always admired and loved Stevie Nicks. Her Bella Donna album was my go to music in the early eighties, during my first year in the Air Force. I have never seen her in concert, although I have always wanted to. Even now, since I am a “grown-up,” the ticket prices for her current tour what is left of them, are astronomical. I wish she could perform at a more intimate music hall, such as The Birchmere, VA, Wind Creek, PA, and or Scottish Rite, NJ. Her songs never get old or tiresome. It is that raw emotion and energy that jumps off the recordings, that stops you, and makes you listen.
Always loved Stevie Nicks. She seems like a pretty decent human being that's made her fair share of human mistakes and lived through it enough to enlighten people with her life experiences.
I’m glad I saw them twice, once with MvcVie and they were amazing! One of best bands. Glad they’re still going and hopefully McVie’s passing doesn’t stop them.
No chance. The best singer in FMac was Chrissie McVie by a million miles. Listen to a track by McVie and another by Steve Nicks. Nicks whines when she sings. Her value to Fmac was in songwriting and production. It certainly wasn't her signing voice.
This interview so touched me and let me know that you are really in touch with who you are and what the value is of people that have made your life what it is today. It was a nice little chit chat. Love that Stevie got to tell Lindsey what she wanted to after 3 decades!! Sometimes it takes a while to say what you want to say or need to say. LOVE STEVIE NICKS!!
@@davidrice3337 yup, I don't think some of the people here realize that this interview was from 2013, 10 years ago. Since then, Lindsey Buckingham has been fired and according to him, it was Nicks that had him thrown out. She gave the ultimatum that the band choose her or Buckingham. So I don't know where this "forgiveness" stuff is coming from.
Stevie Nicks called herself stee-dee as a toddler which later became Stevie ! Her beautifully written song " Dreams " was the only #1 Billboard 100 hit for Fleetwood Mac. It is about the up and down relationship she had with Lindsay Buckingham . The song " Landslide " was about the death of her grandmother . It was also the FIRST song by Stevie and Fleetwood Mac to hit the Top 10 .. Her song ' Rhiannon " is considered one of the Top 500 songs in Rock history by Rolling Stone magazine . She is the only woman inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice ( once as a solo artist and as a member of Fleetwood Mac ) . When Stevie and Lindsay joined Fleetwood Mac , they were considered the originators of the " Soft Rock " genre of music . Stevie designs her own bohemian type wardrobe . She mainly wore white in the 70s and 80s to exemplify her angelic persona and mysticism . She mainly wears Black to make her appear slimmer . People ! Magazine has a special issue dedicated to the Rock Goddess about her life and times up to turning 75 in May 2023 .
I lover Stevie! She is so pragmatic! I miss listening to their albums and singing into a cassette deck with my sister and cousins when we were young! We didn't have internet or social media, but we did have fun!

I love Stevie. But these women are so annoying. They never let Stevie finish a sentence. She's trying to tell a story (about a question they asked) and right before she can finish they chime in "and what happened?!" or "and what did he say?!" They are so frustrating! They are the type of people that can never listen, just wait to speak.
Loose Women in a nutshell. It is truly a dreadful program full of awful female role models who promote artificial beauty over intelligence and character. Stevie sits in such a stark contrast here.

Stevie Nicks is amazzzzing! I truly believe she would be a force to be reckoned with, has had and still does have her frustatrations (hence the 'talk' she had with Lindsay 35 years later :-) , intimidating, smart and she makes me like who I am for having the fortitude to be a lot like her !
@@davidrice3337 Stevie talks about when she had wait tables and she supported her friends. How many people would give of themselves like that? Not many. @@toshikotanaka3249 that is a very condescending comment. A beautiful voice doesn’t need to have a wide range. What about Karen Carpenter? We all hear music differently perhaps that is why we don’t hear many Far Eastern artists here in the West or why we prefer British, European and American hifi too.
@@tonyjedioftheforest1364 "What about Karen Carpenter?" Carpenter was a contralto with a three octave range, quite impressive. Ask any vocal coach whether or not range matters. There is an entirely different world of professional singers besides those who sing rock or pop tunes. Broaden your horizons.
Mac were the consummate professionals. If you closed your eyes at their concert and just listened, you'd understand their greatness. They were flawless! Lindsay was the perfect front man and Stevie brought the mystique. Christy set up left of the stage mixing into the background for a majority of the show until the spotlight hit her! She was the change of pace that brought the crowd out of the trance Stevie put them in. Mick was always Tribal on the drums and lived on the edge of bizarre! Not many give him credit for being a great drummer but damn he was so original and next to Keith Moon used displacement and chokes better than anyone. He was a madman who delivered perfection every time out. So, while we enjoyed Micks penchant for the bizarre you know it had to make John's bass play a logistical nightmare when it came to picking up on the pulse of Micks drumming. John's ability to bide time by holding notes through Micks phantom strikes was amazing (Listen to the bass line on "Go you own way"). Without John's bass play that song wouldn't exist! He held it together while Lindsay and Mick were all over the place. Mac might make my top 5 let's see......... That's a very good summation of a great band. I would have no problem whatsoever listening to music with you as your taste is impeccable. It doesn't really matter but I would add a couple more great artists to the ones you have cited. I'm a big fan of many of the bands in your extended top 5 and would add Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band, John Fogerty and CCR, Pink Floyd, Jeff Lynne and ELO + The Travelling Willbury's, Supertramp, a couple of great pianist's and songwriters in Elton John and Billy Joel, great guitar players Carlos Devadip Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, and BB King, and I know I've probably missed at least a few other great musicians that will come to my mind later. I'm 66 years of age and my memory isn't what it once was. I can't imagine what my life would be like without music. At the risk of sounding political it is very hard for me to believe that there is a faction of people in Afghanistan known as the Taliban that part of their belief system is to ban the playing of all music. Amanda is Donna Summers daughter and her husband Abner taught her I think composition in college. They collaborated for a while then started dating. I won't tell you their best songs because there are too many greats to list. The have no genre as their songs vary from Garage rock to folklore to bluegrass to R&B to Alternative to Country. In the live version of a rockabilly song Abner drops in some Johnny Cash. It's great stuff. The are both lyrical geniuses. Next lets get rocking. Back in 2000 I was a Super on an MCI Worldcom project on the North side of 1-10. The cleaning crew was working late one night and I was getting antsy so I went up on the roof of the building (No windows inside). Mind you that by the time I got to where that voice was I had to cross 6-8 lanes on I-10 a feeder road and then travel 4 more blocks! When I got to the place there was a RED door that was locked so I knocked. The bartender opened it up and let me in. He explained that the establishment used to be the oldest whorehouse in Houston. I asked him about the singer and he goes oh who? Carolyn? he was so nonchalant. So as I walked back in the courtyard there wasn't a single soul around.. You know, the thing I always loved about Fleetwood Mac is that all of them had equal talents but in different ways. Stevie, of course, with her amazing style and singing ability. Christie McVie with her awesomely beautiful heart warming singing, the powering Lindsey with his untouchable singing skills combined with dynamically virtuoso guitar playing, The bass man and guitarist John McVie (lucky dude to be married to Christie), and the main man himself, Mick Fleetwood! A self-indulgent bitch who changed costumes on stage to keep the focus on herself, and used Lindsey to get where she was, fucking and snorting along the way and setting a lousy example for young women who looked up to her. I'm guessing there's a handful of abortions mixed in there too... She did write a few good songs (often self-indulgent)... what a fucked up legend!! If not for her unique warbling voice, she would have had to get by on her body alone, because her "unselfish, winning personality" wasn't going to get her anywhere. Unless she really knows how to suck a cock well, in which case she could even keep gaining weight, and still be popular in certain circles. That and the cocaine. I've never had a woman blow me after she snorted a line of coke, I bet it's nice. :O)) Just busting your chops about this overrated woman. Peace... LOL.
Serai3 I agree, she is. And a spoiled bitch, too!!! :O)) You shouldn't use such mean words in the same sentence as Jesus though, it makes it sound like you're not a good Christian!! LOL PS. The woman is a lousy role model, encouraging young girls and women to be selfish and into themselves, and her feminist leanings just make her that much more of a bitch, because she's trying to prove something. God knows how many guys she's fucked to get where she is, when it was convenient for her, and all the cocaine, that's an awesome role model for young women as well. Keep waving her flag if you want to... I'll pass. I'd put someone like Olivia Newton-John (who gives out more love, compassion, and encouragement to others, from her heart in one day, than Stevie has given anyone in her entire lifetime), over these spoiled, pretentious "it's all about me" feminist "role models", any day. I wasn't trying to be respectful to her, because I don't respect her type, and we need a lot fewer narcissistic, power and money-hungry women in America, not more. She did write a few good songs though, and she made a lot of money for herself. Have a nice day!!!

I love Stevie Nicks since the first Buckingham-Nicks LP came out before they joined Fleetwood Mac. "Buckingham-Nicks" still holds up today and for any lover of Mac is a must have. I have 3 of the LPs.
I sat in the 2nd row right in front of Stevie at a Fleetwood Mac show in Denver, in 1983 & she didn't disappoint. The whole band was in a grove that night.
My God, these women are so intelligent and classy. The View henhouse can't compare. And I love Stevie's conversation with them. She's smart and articulate.
She's a legendary rock icon and I can't understand why people take shots at the 'drug' culture that all rockers were a part of.... She admitted the coke problem many times over. Loved her song writing and performances and always will. The songs are part of my memories of the 70's and 80's, good times and bad.
I'd of agreed but as a professional musician many of us never touched drugs. Most have tried some weed or use it at least medically. Finally it's legal in most places in North America it's legal. Being a musician professionally on the road is extremely stressful. If the stress or life is not for you teach, teach lessons preform within a few hours of your home.
I didn't see a date requirement? I would add that Ann Wilson sings better today at 80 than Stevie in her prime. I could come up with five more without thinking. And oh yeah. Mist of graces career was not in the Sixties. Anne's has spanned every decade!
For all of you guys out there who saw this video, pay attention to the "talk" that she speaks about early in the interview. Remember that everything you do, every thing you do, is never forgotten by your female companion. 1958-2010, 50 years of keeping track of insults and injuries. Geez...... I have a new appreciation for Lindsay Buckingham. I got your back, bro.
LOLOL. Yeah, because you little boys NEVER remember the details of what your SO's do. Nope, you just let all that disappear. Go back to the sandbox, child.
See? You think "grudge" because she's a woman, but if it was a MAN, it would be "right on bro" and "fuck that bitch". You're a sad little child who only sees his own bitterness.
Somehow your using the words "nagging ho" keeps me from believing a single word you say about real relationships and all the rest of it. Sorry, kid, but you blew it, so you can quit the backpedaling.
Serai3 this may come as a surprise to you but I don't care what you think of me. You said that I wouldn't have the same feelings for a guy as a girl. You're wrong. A naggin Ho, or a whiny prick are all a matter of genitals.

absolute genious songwriting.....takes me to another universe....(the 70's!!!)
@James Sonatore thats amazing....gush
Always loved Stevie Nicks. She seems like a pretty decent human being that's made her fair share of human mistakes and lived through it enough to enlighten people with her life experiences.
She is an ungrateful c t. She would have been nothing without Lindsey
@James Sonatore I bet Lindsay corrects dumb typos in his writing tho
What mistakes? Do want the music or not? Lol
I’m glad I saw them twice, once with MvcVie and they were amazing! One of best bands. Glad they’re still going and hopefully McVie’s passing doesn’t stop them.
Perfect opportunity to tell her that her music is timeless 🎉thanks for the great music Stevie!!!
Always loved Stevie
never ever ever any voice like her. A poet and heartfelt singer.
Lanie Gardner. Same voice
so, Joni Mitchell
Just about any woman who catches a cold sounds exactly like her.
No chance. The best singer in FMac was Chrissie McVie by a million miles. Listen to a track by McVie and another by Steve Nicks. Nicks whines when she sings. Her value to Fmac was in songwriting and production. It certainly wasn't her signing voice.
Melanie had that voice before her
This interview so touched me and let me know that you are really in touch with who you are and what the value is of people that have made your life what it is today. Every person touches us in a way often is only seen when we have time to reflect. Time heals all wounds. I love you for sharing your heart and soul here.
Stevie is unique, for sure. I saw her on this tour. The whole band was really great. Lindsay is an amazing guitarist.
Lindsey was kicked out of the band... he literally made them and they kicked him out..
@@randpherigo9724 Makes sense, but it is just sad as he is so talented. The new series "Daisy Jones and the Six" is based on the personalities in Fleetwood Mac. Here's my latest single for you, Rand: ruclips.net/video/76OxSEgWN9c/видео.html. Hope you like it. Thanks! Take care.
It was a nice little chit chat. Love that Stevie got to tell Lindsey what she wanted to after 3 decades!! Sometimes it takes a while to say what you want to say or need to say. LOVE STEVIE NICKS!!
Forgiveness is magical, and our time on earth will always come to a finish. Good stuff Stevie!
Where you been ? She has refused to go on tour with him the last few yrs- this is an old interview - very old
@fatarsemonkey ummm - this was a long time ago - she has refused to work with him for yrs - good grief
@@davidrice3337 It's the drugs. Sorry!
I love Stevie Nicks sooooo much..
Seeing this is a wonderful treat for me because I havent seen it before and ive always idolise Stevie. ☮️🏴🇺🇲🏴🏴👍🤩🎸
No bs from Stevie. She's the real deal.
I cannot stand Janet Street Porter, period!
I'm English. Yes it is different in material ways to American but that doesn't alter my original view.
Unfortunately, every talk show host is the same. It is completely annoying!!!
They’re supposed to do that, in hopes of getting ratings by some salacious detail. I don’t like it either.
God I've been a fan of stevie when I heard her the first time I was hooked I will always be she's got soul in her music you can hear it. ♢♡♡♡♡♡♧♢♢♢♢♢♢.fan for life

I really don't think she intended to have lice in her music!
Haaaa ok you got me
Yvonne Shearer don't you hate the technology that supposedly spells words right for you, lol!

I just couldn't resist! Thanks for sharing a laugh!
I can tell she has gone through hard times she's honest and to the point
What is your definition of " Hard times" - seems to me she has lived a life most only dream of -
@@davidrice3337 Stevie talks about when she had wait tables and she supported her friends. How many people would give of themselves like that? Not many. That had to be a struggle while singing and practicing music the rest of their waking hours. Later on she was able to live a dream life. They mentioned that she came from humble beginnings.
Classy lady! Have always enjoyed their music.
Magic with words. Thanks Stevie.😊R,R.
Great interview and always has something important to say. She is so no-nonsense and committed to the craft of music.
I always a big fan of Stevie nicks i love her songs and she also a good head strong and a heart of gold in person
I've just come home after seeing Stevie in concert! What an amazing beautiful woman best concert I have ever been to!! Xxx
She is so beautiful, my biggest respect to her :)
She is amazing! I loved her talk & knowledge!! True love 💗
What knowledge?
It's wonderful to hear the Wisdom she has gained.
What a treasure we have had. Why don’t we see more? Stevie could have her own talk show
Wow.. how amazing is Stevie Nicks..
Class act, this woman. I loved this.
Class act? 🤣 She did so much cocaine she nearly lost her nose, she was blowing coke up your rear end, she was so addicted. She's had 4-6 abortions, yeah not so classy.
Janet street porter? Class act? 😂
Nice to hear a wise person speaking from the heart and not worrying about the reaction. Right on Stevie :)
Amen..so did I in 2019
Wow perfect way to put it 💕🙏
Not only beautiful, talented songwriter but sings so great...too
The strange thing is, her sister is a better singer.
Brilliant Singer, Done it all, much respect. ❤
mamma loved her music. thank you for giving my mom so much joy stevie
For all she's been through it's nice to hear Stevie in these interviews now, so intellegent, so attractive, I admit I've had a crush on her forever, saw Fleetwood Mac in '77 in Mobile AL then again last year at the JazzFest in New Orleans, both wonderful shows.
You have good taste in women. I always wanted to be Stevie Nicks‼️ The way she sang and everything. When I lived in Hawaii in 1979-80 I was told by guys I looked like her. You can imagine I was thrilled 💕 We went to see Fleetwood Mac in Spring of 1980🎶🙏 Good ol'days ☺️
Outstanding artist, composer and singer. One of my very favourites with such a distinctive hauntingly beautiful voice.
Her voice is distinctive but she has a limited range. Listen to Phoebe Snow for someone that could easily traverse four octaves.
@@toshikotanaka3249 who is bothered about her range, she has a fantastic voice and that’s all that matters.
@@tonyjedioftheforest1364 It isn't all that matters. People that appreciate singing and what is required to be considered a world class singer are impressed by range. But it's fine if you wish to think your beliefs are all that matter.
@@tonyjedioftheforest1364 "What about Karen Carpenter?"
Carpenter was a contralto with a three octave range, quite impressive. And I wasn't the one who started the condescending comments, you were with "who is bothered about her range, she has a fantastic voice and that’s all that matters"
Well, you're wrong, it isn't all that matters. Ask any vocal coach whether or not range matters. There is an entirely different world of professional singers besides those who sing rock or pop tunes. Broaden your horizons.
My God, Stevie Knicks is Beautiful, and she's in her 60s, simply gorgeous, awesome singer and she's a class act, unlike what's out there today.
Does she own the New York Knicks. Wonder if they named the team after her
1979, my day would jam every weekend, every song from rumors was played over and over, we all loved it
Thank you Stephanie Stevie nicks ❤🎉😊
Beatles, The Who, The Stones, The Eagles, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, YES, Black Sabbath, Queen, Guns & Roses, B.O.C., Stevie Ray, ZZ Top, Bad Company, Rod Stewart & Faces, Boston, The Allman Brothers, Metallica, The Kinks, Billy Joel, The Band, Bob segar, Simon & Garfunkel, Elton John, Clapton & Cream, ELO, Journey, The Cars, The Romantics, Sublime, Pearl Jam, Disturbed, The Marshall Tucker Band, REO Speedwagon, Van Halen, The Steve Miller Band, U2, Styx, The Counting Crows, Heart, The Police, Deep Purple, THREE DOG NIGHT, John Mellencamp, Jefferson Starship, Offspring, Steely Dan, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Peter Frampton, Bon Jovi, The Boss, The beach Boys, The Knack, The Clash, The Outlaws, The Isley Brothers, Santana, Enjoy this, The most passionate rocker of my time R.I.P. ruclips.net/video/1wOa0EzfxTo/видео.html
What kind of a screwed up belief system bans music? Bizarre to say the least and bordering on not even being human is the way I see it. I thank my lucky stars every day that I live in a free country like Canada where I can enjoy music whenever I like.
@@richardwestmoreland4796 Richard I'm 58 going on 16 :0) Here are some places to go on RUclips.... LIVE AT DARYL'S HOUSE- He plays with everyone from The Ojays' to Joe Walsh. It's a super cool show and a class move by Daryl to preserve a memory of all of these greats. The best duet ever IMHO is a group that call themselves "Johnnyswim". As I walked to the edge of the South parapet wall I heard this booming voice. Just this pointy nosed little Firey Red head with a guitar in her hands and a voice like a more concise Joplin. I tell everyone that if Stevie Ray and Janis had a kid she'd be it! Her name is Carolyn Wonderland. Lastly look up Monte Motgomery and play a song called "When will I". :0)

Awesome .insight into Mac. as well as that list.I hope I find someone to be in my band with that kind of insight..do you play or just a fan?
I listen to the Rumors album when I'm in my 'happy space'. I love this group.
I STILL love their music so very very much and always will!
I think that's what got them all back together, the admission that together as FM they became bigger than the sum of its parts.
this is the same date as my birthday, alway's loved stevie nicks, bought a ticket in the late 80's and the tour was cancelled because of bad weather, can't believe I am going to see them in June 2015 in Dublin after all these year's, but just loving and can't wait to see Stevie, on own,
In 1986 or 1987, can't remember, I was taking a car service from my office in Wheat Ridge Colorado to the airport, the driver had a message enroute and he asked if we could stop and pick up a lady passenger as her limo had car trouble and she was going to be late to the airport herself. That's how I met Stevie Nicks and have been a fan ever since
Even though my marriage only lasted a third of the time they were together, 15 years for us, I wish more people, including myself could just let bygones by bygones. What a lovely message of LOVE!!
Stevie is one Enchanting, Beautiful woman...

Ignorant ppl, doesn't know how to appreciate a true living legend, who LIVED, ROCKED and PARTIED like a Goddess, while we mere mortals just keep living our simple lives, doing the same things over and over again. Also hate when ppl judge and appoint other ppl faults, like they never did anything wrong in their pathetic lives. Stevie we own you a big deal of great songs, poetry and full entertainment videos. God Bless you. *
Your internet "White Knighting" is pathetic.

Your sneering is not only pathetic, but desperate and whiny as well.
Peace... LOL.
Serai3
I agree, she is. And a spoiled bitch, too!!! :O))
You shouldn't use such mean words in the same sentence as Jesus though, it makes it sound like you're not a good Christian!! LOL
PS.

It bombed though
I sat in the 2nd row right in front of Stevie at a Fleetwood Mac show in Denver, in 1983 & she didn't disappoint. The whole band was in a grove that night.
Those were the days in Denver. Forty years just vanished didn't they.

She's a legendary rock icon and I can't understand why people take shots at the 'drug' culture that all rockers were a part of....
She admitted the coke problem many times over.
Loved her song writing and performances and always will. The songs are part of my memories of the 70's and 80's, good times and bad.
its because they have done nothing
She did say she would NEVER have gotten into drugs had she known how bad it would be. She is older and much wiser.

Serai3 If your idea is about being a nagging ho, then more power to you. 50 years is TOO long to hold a grudge.
I saw her perform "Stop Dragging My Heart Around" at a Tom Petty concert. She was dressed all in sheer white dress and spun around like an angel...I instantly fell in love.
