They really didn't do them any favors with this mixing.... This song is such a banger and they majorly underserved the band. They still rocked out tho!

I discovered them for the first time yesterday and that was my reaction as well. I don't care much for their live aesthetic but it's really nice to see a band come through where the aesthetic/vibes aren't 90% of what they do. These can really play, the songs are written well, the arrangement is good, the singer is phenomenal, the rhythm section is great, I really like the guitars. They're talented and competent musicians, which has sadly been a rarity on the UK indie scene for the past 15 years. I've just preordered their album, which is the first time I've done that for a debut album in about 10 years.
PS I think the exciting thing listening to them as well, is there's still definite room for growth too, these could be something really special. Also, I'd like to change my reference to the "UK indie scene" to the English indie scene because there's been some decent bands come out of Scotland that time.
Why does everyone have to hear a good song and immediately start describing it as revolutionary. Its drums guitars and keys nicely arranged. Chill.
This is such an incredible track. Abigail has some real Freddie in there, and I love every bit of her stage presence and vocal. Emily Roberts is such an amazing guitarist as well.
I've been trying to figure them out for a couple of days now and then all of a sudden I realized "Oh yeah, they're like Queen!"

@@Tophusification definitely some Brian May in Emily's tone and solo style. From Abigail I was getting more of a PJ Harvey/Nick Cave vibe from their Henry Lee video, more in the style than in the delivery though.

Jealous! I’m seeing them tonight & I’ve not been this excited for a concert maybe ever? And they’re playing at a bar, our local station is presenting them & the one DJ was basically like “this will probably be the last time to see them at a venue this small”. Cannot wait.

So much invention, so many ideas, so many layers. A total triumph in all respects! But Emily Roberts truly stands out. Is there a better guitarist anywhere at the moment??? I doubt it.
@@LiveInConcertUK Yes, there are lots, Tim Henson for one, but, what do you mean by better? Technically better, faster, those things can be measured. Saying someone is the best guitarist is usually nonsense, whats meant is they are their favourite, and thats all that really matters.

I'd imagine if you asked Emily Roberts about it she'd either say something along the lines of how there is no "better" because it is music and not the olympics or she'd reel off guitarists that she is inspired by so probably feels in debt to (Like any musician, really)@@LiveInConcertUK
Had to search this band out after they got a major award ,hell I,m 68 with a passion for music from many genres and this group is totally amazing ,so fxxking original , Brits can still produce the very best !

Saw live in Dalston a couple of weeks ago. I can honestly say I have not seen a more charismatic leading woman than Abigail. She is awesome.

I remember watching this episode on tv and when she started strutting around and dancing whilst singing as if it was nothing…I was gobsmacked. She was just too cool!!

Thanks Brian May. This is a good performance at jools Holland from last year. They are a good band. They are simply the new rock royalty according to the queen legend and he is right.
this band takes me back to the late 90's early 2000's the first modern indy band that has really excited me like i was back then as a student.

I saw them supporting Florence + the Machine in Cork back in June, and immediately regretted not having caught them at Glastonbury a few days earlier! Caught their own little show in Glasgow in October and they were amazing!
A bit of Siouxsie too. Saw them last week in Belfast (Hozier concert) and they were excellent.

They are without doubt a very good band,let’s hope they can live up to the hype that’s currently being generated for them.
The guitarist sound reminds me of Brian May,and of course there’s the Kate Bush/Sparks thing going on.I have no idea of their modern influences but there have been the last few years some great female bands who haven’t got the wider acclaim that The Last Dinner Party currently gets.Good luck to them and they certainly shine out in todays music scene.
