A lovely well spoken man who had around him a band that thrived on imploding and friction. Maybe that was their secret to success. Christine McVie was such an important cog in the clockwork of the band. Her input into Fleetwood Mac was a highlight.

@Jim Miller I have followed the Mac since they were the best Rhythm & blues band in Europe. Mick and John have had to reinvent themselves many times as "Fleetwood Mac". The lineup has changed many times with he and John as the anchor.
I would assume he is speaking with emotion at this time. But when the dust settles hes going to need to make a living and just being a session guy, though you and I might like it, doesn't pay near as much as playing as Fleetwood Mac with anyone in front of him

@@fredstriker2042 Only time will tell. Another thing is that Stevie Nicks and her band are really hot right now. She and Billy Joel are doing a few stadiums this year. Stevie has booked for herself shows in between the stadium shows. We are going to the Knoxville show and we can’t afford floor seats anymore. It’s almost like Fleetwood Mac is a step down for her going forward. I don’t want Mick to book something like he did in support of the Time album. @Tikneshia Beauford Sorry If I have offended you. Sometimes hearing an alternate perspective or negative opinion isn't easy to handle, but like you, i wont judge you. But willpoint out some facts..
      1. I have not said one negative word about Christine in any way or fashion.
      2. I have never said anything negative about Mick. Simply said he was "blabbing on". And he is, call it by another name if that eases the point, how about Mick is depressed from the loss of a friend and is acting "emotional"? That better?
The fact is. He is telling Is the average normie fan they are done when History, Logic, Finance, and Reality dictate otherwise. He is Mick Fleetwood, a drummer, and will slowly go broke otherwise.
It's OK to have a completely different opinion. Sometimes you can learn something by hearing one out. Doesn't mean I'm a negative person. Try debate rather or discussion rather than emotional assumption

So it's onyl logical for FM to end. Fom 1990 on, I saw FM every time they came to europe and I'll sherish the memories forever. When Mick said the band was done, it was both heartbreaking and expected. They had an awesome run, 56 years together, but it'll never be the same without Christine. Rest in peace Songbird.

yeah but that's how they feel right now you never know, what people never talk about is before Stevie and Lindsay Joined the music was fantastic, show me a smile a good Christine McVie song, their cover of For your Love is i think even better a song put out in (1973) Buddy's Song just to name a few. if you want to know how far back she goes in the band she played Piano on their 2nd album Mr. Wonderful in (1968) did the artwork and sang backup on Kiln House (1970) and joined as a member In (1971) for Future Games. not many know that she was there that long
cept for the die hard fans like me who listen to their early stuff before 75 when the White album came out

@@rolandofgilead43 Really? Perhaps there's a great deal more of us than you realise. Here in the UK, where EVERYBODY knows Christine Perfect from her Chicken Shack days, dating John McVie from John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and singing Etta James' "I'd Rather Go Blind" put out on the Blue Horizon label in April `69.
We had five national weekly music press newspapers here and streets ahead of the US in that respect and the FM were never out the news with August 68 being a bumper month with the release of Mr. Wonderful, the McVie/Perfect marriage and Danny Kirwin joining. Mrs. McVie also played keyboards on Kiln House, again uncredited. In 1969, Fleetwood Mac records outsold both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones combined in UK and Europe, whereas over in the US, it was Creedence Clearwater Revival who did exactly that, too.
I still fail to understand quite how Bob Welch has become a very distant memory as without him there never would have been that White album, which I never thought very much of anyway.

@@apollomemories7399 it's weird I agree but Mac was bigger in the uk than over here I wasn't around in the 60s. Mr. Wonderful if I recall never was put out here back than. What's weird is here across the pondrá you have the Beatles who were big but they had done 2 albums before hitting it big here. Their music was scattered all over lps as the actual albums never hit us until sgt pepper. The stones had albums come but until between the buttons which was the last to do this it was a different tracklist. I love that albums buy thr US versión sucks it's awful but the uk versión is brillant. The beach boys by 68 were jokes here by than but huge in the uk. Queen from hot space onward really did poorly sales wise but fared better in britan. Genesis also was bigger in the uk for the longest time for us and than there were three was big for them but in the uk they were huge.

@@rolandofgilead43 In the case of The Beatles' success in the US, they actually had to physically go there to be seen on TV for anything to happen. US record labels hated any success for foreign import records and did everything they could not to support them. Capitol did an excellent job with (and I'm being sarcastic) in not being interested in the Beatles earlier singles, hence, why thy went out initially.on mickey mouse little labels. That's the way it worked back then in that US label execs got to choose what tracks they felt were best for the markets they sold out to. Hence why Stones albums were peeled off with some black R&B covers and replaced with the hit singles - which did not appear on the UK albums, etc. Yes, we loved The Beach Boys and when you listen to these albums today, that's quite understandable. Personally, I gave Queen a miss after the mid-70's when it went one step too far with the Mercury flamboyant stuff. Genesis were indeed very successful here simply on the basis their records were brilliant. Their BBC radio sessions collection gets released early March. I cannot wait.

When something is over---it is over. These folks have simply gotten too old and too frail to continue. Poor Phil Collins not only couldn't play the drums on his final tour, he couldn't even stand up! Fleetwood Mac had a great run, but when it is time to retire, it is time to retire. By quitting now----they get to go out on top. There are worse things than quitting. You wouldn't want one of them to die on stage---and that is a real possibility at this stage of the game.

equally. Really, they ended the band when they "got rid of"
