  • In this video, I demonstrate the process of removing stain from a deck using sodium hydroxide and brightening it with oxalic acid. While I handle the deck restoration, Matt takes care of a full house wash. After wrapping up the first job of the day, we head to a second job in the afternoon. Watch as we transform the deck, wash the house, and tackle multiple projects in one day!

How well does lye strip paint off of decks?

I assume vegetation around deck needs to be removed. Or can you work around it?

If I’m understanding your question correctly, we water down all of the vegetation implants before putting down any solutions. That protects it and then we wash it down afterwards as well.

The house wash & deck together for this client was $900.
Whenever I sell deck work like this (removing stain), I focus a large part of the selling point on the fact that it’s more of a “restore” rather than a “wash”.
We are restoring the wood to its original state (as best as we can). 👌👍

Lol bro, leaving the water running, no mask or eye protection, sped up video when we have those options. Think that acid got to ya. Lol jkjk
Do you ever use sodium perarbonate instead?

Lol & no I have not, I’ve researched it, but this works on a lot of other things as well like grease. So you get the 5gal pail and you’ve got multiples different uses for it not just wood

Just my opinion. Ditch the sped up video. Little annoying. Just make a regular video

I 100% agree. Felt like I had to keep my mind running at a million miles an hour to keep up. Other than that, good video

I disagree, you are wrong and you deserve the heat of a thousand suns.

Thanks for the constructive criticism. Definitely still trying to find my style when it comes to creating a RUclips video. The reason I speed it up is because I feel like no one wants to watch an hour long video or has the time…

Thanks, got some more videos on cooking up so definitely stay tuned and let me know your thoughts 🔥
