I've been watching Power Washing videos like a madman recently. So many of them are people explaining business stuff and trying to sell $500 strategies or whatever. This right here just showed me wtf I'm actually supposed to be doing. Thanks

Thanks for this video. I am trying to sort out what I would need to be able to do my house (soffits & minimal siding) once a year or two and maybe a neighbor. So far the SH % coming out the nozzle is the hardest to calculate - every one has good info on batch mixing, but I am trying to figure what hits the wall. Regardless, thanks for sharing!
@@shawnp6653 sh coming out the nozzle is a little hard to calculate. I can put out a video in a couple days showing how to calculate if you’d like. Just let me know.
@@DownSouthSoftwash That's awful nice of you. I think the part I need to figure out is how much of the 'solution' is pulled in through the injector - I guess that is the bucket test. Anyways, I am still gathering info and building a shopping list :) I'll keep watching and learning.
Nobody ever seems to have a real instance of harbor freight equipment being awful. People just talk about it badly. Almost like how Chevy people hate Ford for no reason other than their daddy and grand daddy hated it.
Great job and review of your soft wash. Will the jrod work on a 3200 psi 1.2 gallon per minute pressure washer? (electric) Trying to to reach a 2 story house. If not what do you suggest? Thanks you for your time.
It could possibly work. You can downstream through virtually any pressure washer but the only problem is the height. To be able to reach 2 stories you’d probably need to be on a small ladder and even then it might just end turning to a mist and not actually getting up there. I would suggest buying a pump sprayer (15 oz bleach and the rest water.) you will still need a ladder to reach the second story but you will get a better stream out of a pump up sprayer at that height than a jrod of of a machine that small. To sum it up. The jrod will work for the first story of your house but the second story will most likely require a pump up sprayer. Hope this helps.
Do you have to do spray the grass along the house with just water to dilute the mixture so it don’t harm the lawn or anything? Thank you for the video!
I have that same set up with the downstream injector. I just purchased the X-Jet M5 Kit to downstream straight through the nozzle and have better control of my mixes. Have you used that?
@@strawhatgolf haven’t bought it yet because I was waiting til a roof job came up. Didn’t really figure I’d need it before that. How have you liked it so far?
I would strongly recommend an X-Jet and a quality ball valve as basic equipment for any pressure washer. The ability to switch out feed nozzles to change your mix ratio along with the extended reach are invaluable. Not to mention sparing your guns, hoses, and ball valves the wear and tear of running bleach through them is vital. The only drawback is that the xjet hose can be a bit difficult to manage, especially with a wand vs a smaller “detail” gun. I struggled greatly with hoisting a 5 gallon bucket with an unruly hose on it and trying to simultaneously spray down a driveway or wall. Ended up straining my rotator cuff more than a couple of times before I got used to the pacing. It GUZZLES chemical and the filter has difficulty staying down at the bottom of the bucket so beware. All in all great purchase but there’s a small learning curve to using it. I find it works best for walls set under a ladder to give the hose plenty of slack while you apply.
@@WelsHomEx Thanks for the tips. I’ve bought a lot more stuff since this video (ball valve, detail gun, down stream, new hose, etc.) I have an x jet on the way. Should be here tomorrow.
@@Ben_Dover_Say10 I love it. Best $150 I’ve spent since I started. It just throws SH a little heavy. Any tips for that? Maybe less PSI or maybe I had the nozzle open too much?
@@ffs3rich gonna answer both of your questions here. Xjet is 1000% acceptable for soft washing. You can do anything from a simple house wash to a moderate roof wash with it. Eh. Just hold your breath for a sec if you catch a big spray downwind and don’t huff your mixing bucket and you’re fine. Definitely wear a painter’s mask if you’re doing a surface clean though. The vapor rising upon the heat will 100% get into your lungs and mess up your breathing if done over a long period of time
Finally someone explained what’s different about a downstream injector vs the regular siphon port on a pressure washer. Thank you!
