    Snags do stink but they're part of fishing. Took son and his friend with no fishing experience fishing (beyond the bobber) and he studied up on your channel for all things ned rig during the 2 hour drive. He's now a new fan of the online outdoorsman. As we were on the river he said, "hey, you have a five minute fish talk sicker on your kayak, cool!"

      TRAVIS THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY! Thank you for always spreading the word about my channel. Speaking of, let’s touch base about the high school group again soon. Maybe we could do a live chat with just your class?

    I could not recommend enough the Rapala ultralight series of lures. Its more or less very light versions of classic Rapala models. They make a miniature popper that is phenomenal. It's only about 1 inch long. They also make several lipless crankbait models that are fantastic for suspended Crappies (Vertical Jigging). Once again, I would love to see you review one or two of these baits. Just found your videos. They are really great.

      Thank you a ton Quinn! Funny you mention this as I was literally thinking how I need some small rapalas this morning! Life is just so busy and I sometimes forget these excellent ideas. Thank you for the suggestion, I promise I’ll get to it at some point 🤣 I know them rapala originals would be good for trout in streams too and that just sounds plain fun!

    In details, what is the difference between Hop &Bounce and Swim, Glide & Shake? Thanks

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  4 года назад +1

      Hop & Bounce is bottom-oriented and uses much shorter hops. Swim Glide & Shake is more of a horizontal presentation focused on the swimming of the bait through the water.

    are you line watching for a hit or do you actually feel the fish hit the lure? This year will be my first year to try the ned rig. Thank you for the feedback!

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  Год назад

      Both! Most Ned Rig bites are detected in the line in my experience.

      @@FishAnything Thank you! I may have to get some hi-viz line then. I'm using the 2lb trilen sensation and I can't see it worth a hoot. Same situation with the 2lb SOS line in green color. The 4lb crappie maxx is much is easier to see.

    Dude, you are the Ned rig king! No leader kills my confidence 😒

    • @timothythompson2678
      @timothythompson2678 5 лет назад +3

      I never go without a leader, even at night. Seems that light braid gets cut on rocks easier than fluorocarbon or monofilament. That alone means I always carry a spool of leader material with me.

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  5 лет назад +1

      Yeah I probably should have brought more leader line but it was a quick trip! The confidence is fine as long as the water is dirty like that day. Also, Ned Kehde is the King, I’m a Joker at best 🤣🤠

    Hop and bounce is a lit bit difficulty for us who come from Non-English country, what is difference when you operate you rod? thanks

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  5 лет назад

      Basically just let it sink, reel it once or twice (or a hard rod twitch up) repeat. Pretty simple but deadly!

  • @stevestory8483
    @stevestory8483 5 лет назад +1

    Great video as always. Was curious what rod and reel you’re using? Are any of the other Ned Rig Retrieve videos coming. I love them. Tried a Ned rig for the first time today, didn’t catch anything but tried to use your techniques. Thanks for the great videos

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you Steve, I’ll be getting the rest of the technique videos done as soon as possible! And this rod/reel was a 7’ Medium action shimano rod with a shimano stradic reel. It works pretty well! And keep trying, I promise it will pay off soon and you will figure the fish out 🤠🎣

    I used the hop and bounce on some river smallies a few weeks ago and it worked well. I could see into the water and I could see the smallies react to the hopping and hitting it after it settled. Great job on the largies and the smallmouth. Sorry you lost 2 jigheads from snags, back to back. I hate losing lures 😡

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  5 лет назад +1

      I hate losing jigs mostly because they are lead and I feel bad 😿 but it’s part of fishing I suppose! Thanks Fitz 🤠

    • @FitzYakin
      @FitzYakin 5 лет назад

      Same year Ethan. Same when I get cut off by pike. I feel bad that they now have a lure stuck in their mouth

    Did you see the post from Strike King on Instagram the other day? They are "in the Ned game" the baits look good. That TRD HogZ is one of my favorites.

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  5 лет назад

      Definitely look like cool baits! Honestly, almost all big companies are following Z-Man to the Ned game now. I’m probably going to stick with Z-Man for 90% of my ned rig fishing for now but certainly will have to try out these new baits as well!

    Which retrieve is most productive ? My guess is Swim, Glide and Shake !

    What is the Action and length of the Spinning Combo you were using in this video?

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  5 лет назад +1

      It is a 7’ Medium rod with 20# braid and an 8# fluoro leader. Not my go-to rod for Ned rigs but it gets the job done! See my go-to rod here: ruclips.net/video/pBwr_Aio1s8/видео.html
