Great info Steve. The wobble head is an awesome tweak to the technique. I really like the z-crawls. They are tiny but the way they fall is so nice and how they land with the pinchers up is pretty sweet. I do catch more small fish then big but I'll take whatever I can get 🤪
Steve I never used a Ned rig until 2 weeks ago and the second cast at contra Loma caught my pb 6 plus (no scale available ) I’d like to send a photo for your local catches. Cant wait for my boat to be ready in august to truly use your great finishing report! Thanks for that tip on spot light. I will definitely use it!

Yes, The giant TRD, and the Senko looking Z-man worm, I would like to fish T-rig and Wacky. for wacky, I use a Zappo inchy wacko jig head at about 1/8 oz, or 3/16oz. and pitch cast it out. I like the fall rate.. I never tried drop shotting a TRD wacky. Will have to experiment. I cannot wait till most slime on bottom is mostly burnt off though.

Another excellent video Steve, like you I just added the Ned Rig to my arsenal of baits, although I have yet to gain any confidence in it. At some point, and maybe you have already done this, but for us novices I would like to see how you go from braid to mono line and which situations call for this type of setup. I am terrible with knots in general so my biggest fear is that once I do attempt a braid to mono setup it will be on a day that I hook into my first double digit fish and lose it. Keep up the good work Steve.

Noticed you were using the swivel style drop shot hook but I don’t think there’s a weedless version... or is there? Also do you fish the drop shot on a casting rig? If so can you do it effectively with a 3/16 weight? Or generally are you throwing something heavier out there?

Hey Steve iam going to the Delta next weekend for a local tournament I've never been up there and where launching out of turner's cut not asking for your spots but do you have any advice how we should attack the delta this time of the year
Hi Ron - depending on the tide and wind. You can go heaver with the larger baits and they will still stand and float at the tail so start with a 1/4 oz and work your way up depending on the day. Good luck and let me know how you do and if you find a magic weight.
Great baits if you don't have the weeds to deal with while bumping along the bottom. Even with the drop shot you're going to pick up weeds, especially the Angel Hair weeds. Primary and secondary weed lines are a pain to deal with.
I have been using the worms with a in line worm hook on a carolina rig and it does really well in the weeds-still have to stay away form the Angle hair.
Like the video except the part about the ned rig for the Delta. I'm sure it will catch you fish but in the Delta with the tide movement/ underwater current i don't see that Zman worm standing straight up like you mentioned. Thank you for trying your best to inform the fisherman with your video's. I'll keep on watching. Tight lines
Thanks for the support Willie. Your right on the stand uppart of the ned rig but if you keep the hook fairly light and use the mag. size worm they will do the job. I will be trying some new ned rig ideas next winter and keep you informed if I find a better way to rig. Let me know how you do. PS with the mag. worm you will get bigger - on average fish - not as many - but larger.
I only use the standard (small) baits, but I like to use the cheb rig so you can go weedless. The standard weedless hooks make the bait lie flat most of the time. I love te nedrig fishing for big perch here in the Netherlands.
I found the same prob. with the baits laying flat - experiment with the larger baits - they will stand up the heaver hooks and look great - larger than the standard ned with more action.
I refuse to throw a Ned Rig, but only because I hear there is a high rate of gut hooking. Is there any way around this so I can finally try this hyped up technique 😂.
@@litaliano03 Well that's good to hear. I'll just go buy a sensitive setup for it and not let the fish sit with it to long. No need to wait around anyway when a fish bites in my opinion
Hey Steve, look at the Aaron Martens Rhino head, also use one or two strands of white rubber skirt on the end of the worm instead of marabou, use a sewing needle
I have seen the Rhino but have not tried them. As the water warms up I have been going back to standard rigs but I plan to go back to the ned when the fishing gets tough and do more experimenting - let me know what you come up with - good luck and thanks for the imput and support.
@@indeeponthedeltawithstevec5997 2.75-3.5" worm works wonders. Put it on a 1/16 or 1/8, weedless and crawl it on top of grass and weed. I've caught 5lbs+ working it slow. With the water clarity it has right now, motor oil and junebug works well.

I think the craws on a small wobble head can work - only so much time but experimenting with the craws is on my list.

I use a casting rig and spinning - one light and one heavy - no weedless drop shot hook that I know of and just got in from the river 92%.

Drop shot on the delta is amazing because it's closer to flipping, 5/16 is the best for a casting set up

Keep in mind Willie he was also talking about when the tides are slack and things are calm. Not when tides are moving in our out.
@@BnADaddy99 you alway have water movement below a few feet. There are pumps always pulling water, it not just tide movement.

With the white rubber, then cut the loop at the needle, this gives you 2 short strands that quiver and provide a strike indicator
Oops, put 1 strand thru a sewing needle the pull half way through the middle of the worm then cut at the loop
