I haven't had regular coffee in over 10 years. I remember when I quit, I had withdrawal symptoms the first few days and around the 3rd day I got a nose bleed. After 5-7 days I felt better than ever before. I no longer got random headaches throughout the day, no longer woke up feeling dizzy, and my energy was evenly balanced throughout the day.. no significant highs or lows. My skin also started looking better and teeth got whiter. My joints felt more lubricated. Now I wake up already feeling energetic and don't need a jolt from coffee. Not being a slave to coffee is probably the best thing I've done for myself aside from never smoking. Occasionally, on a cold or rainy morning, I'll make some decaf coffee. I don't consume anything with caffeine including dark chocolate and certain teas.

*Every single negative side effect* you listed I experienced exactly. I had developed a tolerance and was getting lethargic, jittery, experiencing hypertension, dizziness, inconsistent body temperature levels, lack of focus and drive, depression, just overall feeling very sick and gross and nearly passing out on several occasions. It felt like my body chemistry was very imbalanced and these symptoms would very often manifest at random times of day, and all I could do was put my head down and bear through it and wait for it to subside. It was so bad I was worried I had developed a serious irreversible medical condition.
Over time I scaled my coffee consumption back gradually and now I drink about an hour after I wake but not before I drink at least a full glass of water, staying hydrated through the day. At least 7-8 hours of sleep are vital. Any deviation from those habits and my symptoms rear their head again as if to say, _"Say hello to your little friend!"_
The video was a good reminder of keeping it under control. Thanks Doc!

Good advice. You confirm much of what I’ve been hearing about coffee, and added some new things, like the function of the adrenal glands, and the fact that coffee is a diuretic and the first thing you drink should be water.
If you had one cup of coffee per day, the most optimal time to have it is probably around 2:00 in the afternoon-you’ve had lunch, and you kind of slow down because now your natural hormones are at a low level. Your system could actually use a boost at that time.
    Anyhow, thanks!

Water would be the best. When you wake up, you've lost a liter of water and are dehydrated. Water is the best, healthiest re-hydrator. What I kept waiting for him to say how long we should wait before we have the first cup of coffee.
I drink water while I wait for my coffee because I am so thirsty when I wake up. For me, that's about an hour. I usually start the coffee about 20ish minutes after I wake up and I use a stovetop percolator which takes longer than a regular drip machine (but, it is sooo worth it!!).

50% of heart attacks happen in the morning and it's because the heart is dehydrated. Also always get up on the right side of the bed. The heart is on the left.
The first movement of the day can put a strain on the heart if you get up out of bed on the left side.
