  • Today was an awesome day as we got to meet up with Todd from Husqvarna to drop off and demo their brand new V554 Stand On mower!
    This one has been a few months in the making, but things finally lined up where we were able to demo the new Husqvarna v554 and share it with you guys!
    I wanted to say a big shout out and thank you to Husqvarna for sending this monster out for demo and for us to show off on our channel to you guys. This mower made a huge splash at GIE last fall, and when I saw it, I knew I wanted to demo it and see what it was all about.
    Fast forward 6 months later and we finally got our hands on one. We will have this guy for about 2 weeks, so I am excited to put some hours on it and report back to you guys on how it performed.
    If you guys have any specific questions, leave me a comment down below. I will do my best to answer them as fast as I can and get them answered for you.
    Are you guys interested in this Husqvarna mower or have you had a chance to demo one yourself? Did any of you guys get to test it out at GIE last fall? Let me know, leave me a comment down below!
    Check it out:

    We've had one with the 48" deck for about two months now, and it has done everything I've thrown at it like a champ. It's a beast on slopes (even on overly dewy mornings), is pretty quick, and quality is amazing. After using Exmarks, Hustlers, Toro's, Kubota's, and Cub Cadets, this is definitely my favorite rider. So far it has two thumbs up from me.

    I currently have a Husqy zero turn and blower. Fairly happy with both. The rider has some mystery squeaks i can't identify, but no biggie at this point. I just grabbed a brochure at a local dealer on the stander. Giving Husqy, Toro and Wright a good look. Great timing on this video👍

    So I just bought one and a few things to do. I lowered all the tires to 15 psi ride quality increased a lot. Also my deck was off about a half an inch from what the height adjustment said for example I was cutting at 3.5 on the mower but the blades were at 3.

    I've been really interested in the Wright Intensity. I'm also looking at something smaller in the 36 - 48 range. The biggest thing for me is the weight. All mowers will cut good, but you can't get all mowers on a soaked lawn.. The Wrights seem to be just over the weight of walk behind. Great video, it's really nice that all these companies are allowing you the demos, especially for the amount of time you are getting them. Cheers!

    We have a v554, honestly it became a back up mower not long after buying it about 4 seasons ago. Biggest con for us is it’s super front heavy with the pumps in front it is about useless for anything with a hill. The knee pad constantly stays soaked so cheers to wet knees all day. Cut quality is subpar with fresh blades or used always have to run over stuff multiple times to get a clean cut.

    • @dropdemtegs042
      @dropdemtegs042 Год назад

      We have 2 pz60 zero turns bought at the same time. We’ve had absolutely the worst experience with them. They have both been in the shop getting fixed more than they have been out cutting properties. With 3 month down time each time one goes to shop. The pz60 have a wiring harness issue that always seems to come back shortly after getting back from shop. Both have had 4 harnesses each.

    I know this is from 2018 and there have been other "less favorable" reviews. Namely one small thing was the oil dip stick is in a bad location and makes it very difficult to use. You and "Stan" did a review and talked about other issues with Ed Wright. Has any of the complaints been addressed now? I really want to like this mower. In fact I think that some of the issues can be overlooked and for the money is a hellova great stander. I'm new in the grass cutting part time business (at 61 years old) and want to make good decisions about products.

      @marcusd6096 3 года назад +1

      @@framelawncare6671 For the price one can't go wrong. I'm glad I got the 36" because it gets through every gate that I have been needing to get it through. I wanted to go bigger but I had the fear of the mower not getting into gates. Glad I went with gut. Now if you need to get through one of those chain linked gates with normal opening, be prepared to use a push mower. My only issue is the fuel gage, there isn't one on my model.(stander b) I wasn't paying attention one day and ran out of fuel. You have to get off the mower, open the pad hatch , and look at the tank gage slots to see how much fuel you have. Overall it gets the job done, up steep hills and around bushes on steep hills(just be careful). I always back down steep hills slowly, or can lose control. Rear wheels will slide, if trying to control going forward down a steep hill fast .

      @@framelawncare6671 Indeed, I think you can't go wrong with the 36". Wright has a good price on them. Others I've seen at twice the price, for same size. I went to buy a sit down mower, but saw a stand up for the first time and walked out with standard b instead. So yep , np , good luck. Almost forgot. I've never tried those industrial walk behind mowers, but I'm willing to bet they are better than the normal home owner ones. So I'm sure that set up would work out just a good if not better.

    As always a great video Brian. I was wondering if you've ever run or demoed hustler? Up in Vermont (where I am), most of the companies use hustler (including mine).

    Easy access to the engine? Idk .. looks a little tight to check the dipstick or even change the oil .. and spark plugs.. but then again.. that’s how it looks on video...

  • @JohnDiMartino

    Great video Brian,if I may make one suggestion,your helper is wearing dark clothing,when he’s weed whacking he is hard to spot,we wear hi visibility bright yellow vests,when working. The side benefits are the good vests have several extra pockets on them,and my customers especially commercial have all commented on how they like them for safety,and one terminal manager thanked me as there regional safety director was doing a random inspection the day I was mowing and he commented on how happy he was with the landscaping contractor because I was wearing the high vis vest, pants, boots and eye and hearing protection,my mowers all have slow moving vehicle triangles and fire extinguishers ,and my truck and trailer was coned off properly. This secured my position there as well even more so.

      @BriansLawnMaintenance  6 лет назад +1

      Yeah I like the high-vis we try to wear it near our commercial sites but, overall I just like the clean look of our new gray polo's. Although in the future I may just throw down for high-vis yellow Tshirts with our name/logo, because safety first and what you said totally makes sense.

      John DiMartino We started wearing hi-viz yellow after a FedEx driver almost punched my ticket one day, missed me by literally an inch or a fraction of a second while mowing

    Kill switch is probably not in the platform so that you can flip it up.

      The Lazer Z's have a 5-year warranty and the other models do not. The warranty info is from the 2018 Exmark product catalog.

    Brian if you were to have the safety on the platform you would not have the ability to fold it up because when you flip the platform up u wouldn’t have a safety

  • @Running925
    @Running925 6 лет назад +1

    Brian, you can't have the safety in the platform if you flip it up to walk the mower.
