  • Thank you for watching the 2018 Lawn Care Challenge featuring a head to head show down between the Husqvarna V554 and the Gravely Pro Stance 48 setups. If you would like to see a few other reviews on the Husqvarna V554 check out Dirt Monkey or Brian's Lawn Maintenance. We are very excited about the performance from this equipment. We have used a variety of mowers in our business lifetime and really felt the need to try the stand on mowers. There are a lot of pros and cons to each machine, but overall we felt that this style of mower works well for crews. We will be trying out a few other brands in this category and look forward to sharing with you all which one we choose in a future video! We hope that you enjoy!!

Thank you for your input! We have not had a chance to mow with either machine on a thick lawn yet. But we will definitely let you know how it does if we get the chance! We appreciate your input!

The only product I would ever buy from Husqvarna is a chain saw. 3 of my neighbors have Husqvarna riders and all 3 hate it. There biggest complaint is the rod that holds the front part of the deck up that connects to the frame breaks every season, they can still mow but it scalps their lawn big time. My 38" 1985 craftsman just bit the dust, I'm looking at a Gravely ZTXL 52" with Kawi engine from a local Polaris dealer.

Gravely ProStance 36 has a fuel gauge right on top of the fuel tank that can be easily read from the front of the machine. I imagine all the other ProStance models do as well. I personally have the 36 inch model which is awesome to get into backyards for the customers that have small gates. My only complaint is it doesn't handle hills all the well without sliding.

By the way I’m not sure if you realized yet but on the gravely 48 there is a fuel gauge it’s underneath the levers by the engine on top of the gas tank.

sargeant_stefan_ no I definitely over looked that completely. I appreciate the info. I run a fleet of gravely rider zero turns so I didn't look too hard just assumed it didn't have one since our riders don't.

Why do you suppose the Husky had a better cut?? Were the blades equally sharpened???...With the Gravely having more power you'd think that would help with cut quality..not that power alone determines the quality of cut but it does help.

Phillip Hudnall we went back and had the machines tested and the Gravely was running 300 RPMs too slow. Now as you saw the yard we cut was extremely overgrown points we lowered the deck after the initial pass we were able to get a nice clean-cut but we actually saw the Husqvarna doing it the first pass without having to adjust the deck. I'd like to have the Gravely adjusted and put them back Toe to Toe

it's HIS turf take the baffles out of the front of the X FACTOR 2 deck. In my opinion they're useless. When you're in overgrown or wet grass it doesn't cut well imo, lots of stragglers. Took the baffles out of the deck and it solved any cut quality issue I had

Sorry for the late response!! I'm not sure which song you are referring to but the main song during the mowing is, Artist: Gaijin Dream, Song: Dew of Light. Also, Thank you!!

I wouldn't buy it. It's a decent machine but with other companies stepping up their warranty game i don't think it will last long term

The husqvarna can't mow thick grass

It’s “Husqvarna”. NOT “Husqavarna”. So many people say it wrong. It has two As NOT 3. If you review something you should be able to pronounce it. Just my opinion. Also, mowing with the discharge chutes pointed at another operator can be dangerous. Using 2 mowers on a property the secondary mower should follow behind but in the same direction or work in a different area. Good job on review. Just a couple of things. Take care.

These machines are more ment for bigger and commercial lawns. It's not rocket science. Also most lawn mowers and tractors aren't meant for long grass like that. I've been mowing lawns since I was 5 and I'm 33, so I know this you tube clip was all wrong.
