I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and seizures disorders. I was on eight prescription drugs, told this would be a life sentence. This included 120 pain pills a month, depression meds., steroid creams, anxiety meds. seizure drugs and more. Through eliminating processed foods, processed sugar, juice fasting,, intermittent fasting and coffee enamas I have dropped seven of the eight prescription drugs. This is possible for anyone to do, although it does take a serious commitment and a willingness to stop listening to your M.D. Medical Doctors are taught almost nothing about nutrition in medical school. You must become your own advocate when it comes to your recovery. No exceptions!
I’m a phisician MD. Self diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, full of muscle pain, cramps, brain fog… taking medicines… all this is slowly going away as i started ditching sugar and added to the intermittent fasting as a way of life… hope i can have my life back. Seems it is the way to go
@@eclampsium Your on the right track. Cutting out the processed foods, processed sugar, and intermittent fasting have helped tremendously. One of the things that helped me get off the pain pills for good was coffee enamas and juicing. Read “Gerson Therapy.” The therapy is used to treat cancer without chemo. But has had great success with other auto immune diseases as well.
What's a coffee enema? Well done. FMS is awful. People think you are crazy. I reckon it's adrenal exhaustion even though was diagnosed with CFS FMS etc. Good stuff in, fasting and treating cortisol as a priority in terms of its reduction.
@@eclampsiumi am in the same boat. And cannot work. However I have seen changes with this way of living. I’d have never believed that possible before I tried it myself
I'm going through perimenapause and I'm doing clean keto and IF and I take supplements and I do red light therapy in the morning, every morning . I use my steam spa every night so I'm helping my body as much as I can 👍😊 edit - I'm on NO medications from the Dr and I plan on keeping it that way 👍👍
Been crying for days. I'm hitting rock bottom lately and desperate to feel better. I'm definitely trying this. I've been dizzy fainty from standing up for years
Sending love to you 🙏💙 I know you can do it and I'm cheering you on. One small step towards helping your miraculous, intelligent, self healing body do what it was created to do. 🙌
I’ve been suffering for the same thing. Dizzy, weak always tired, depressed and ive gained 40lbs and all 3 of my hormones are to low. And I’m 39 years old. :( Going to try to start to fast because I’m at my limit.
I don’t know if this will help you, but when I had this dizziness Ed’s and weakness daily- it turned out I was low in sodium. Ever since supplementing with real salt- (in addition to an already salty diet) I got better. Hope you feel better!
Anyone else love seeing what books she's got on the desk behind her? SO many great reads! Love you Dr. Mindy! Endlessly inspiring. Thank you for all your work!
I’ve been hearing from other experts that intermittent fasting during adrenal fatigue is not good . Too much stress on the body. I used to intermittent fast 8/16 hr fast before my adrenal crash happened. I used to feel good and healthy when I did that. But since my ad nap crash I have symptoms of adrenal fatigue, good days/ bad days and I’ve been eating more mini meals through the day with healthy proteins and fats because that’s what was recommended til the adrenals repair then Later after stabilization of adrenals I could go back to my fasting yes.
Hi yes…I’m am still up and down on this adrenal fatigue recovery journey. Luckily I do understand it a lot better and I know what things and supplements help it to improve and what things set me back and cause me mini crashes. I’m doing Dr. Lams coaching program and I was experiencing g some improvements about 30-40% unfortunately I just had a set back and my symptoms reared its ugly head again. But the set back or mini crash I just had was because since I was starting g to feel better I think I started to over do it again, with work, exercise, and going to bed late again. Also some life stresses affected me recently like my dog just passed away, my mom and I had a bad disagreement and that all affected my sleep therefore it aggravated my symptoms. But I’m not giving up just going to start over and get back on track with improving. I know what to do to get better. Sleep by 10pm Reduce stress Techniques like adrenal yoga and adrenal breathing Gentle non stimulatory supplements I’m on Vit C 2 different kinds of Glutathione Fulvic acid Hypoglycemic diet- mini meals thru out day Grounding, being out in nature Salt water every morning. Sea salt or Celtic salt
My adrenal fatigue was caused by copper toxicity. I made the connection when my ALCAT panel showed allergies to high copper foods and my hair analysis showed off the chart copper. I did chelation via suppositories every 3 days for 9 mos and my energy returned and my cortisol came online. That’s my story.
Hi there! So glad to hear that you are interested in my THRIVE Program! You can find all the details at bit.ly/thrive-ytc You can also take my Toxicity Quiz here: resetacademy.drmindypelz.com/toxin-quiz
Excellent video. Fasting really affected my adrenals a few years ago. In a negative way. Wiped me out. So important to do it properly. Ashwaghanda really helps me with cortisol spikes at night. I take it before bed.
I think it is affecting me in a negative way as well. I am at my goal weight and didn’t have a lot to lose in the first place, but had a lot of acne and digestive issues which I F helped. I do 20:4 and about 1800 calories a day but I have an active job and workout about four days a week. I would think that that would be sufficient, but my right eye has been twitching for almost 2 weeks now and I can’t get it to stop. So I’m trying to increase my eating window, but I can’t. If I eat, too early, I feel hypoglycemic, and I just am not hungry after I’ve had all my calories. How did you stop the stress from fasting?
I second trying ashwaganda at night, it really helps a LOT. It just calms you down and reduces anxiety, at first it's almost a sedative but you get used to it. Take it for at least a month and tamper down. @@WalkingwithWendy
@@joshua4355 thanks. Actually, it was from too much fasting at that time. I laid off it for a little bit, and my eye twitching got better, and then it has never returned.
@@WalkingwithWendy If fasting stresses you even if you do not have hunger, it is a psychological issue=mental stress=your subconscious feelings and thougths, maybe e.g. that you are going to die if not eating (in fact all of us have them, noone was brought up by saints) - you can try the polyvagal theory, mindfulness, somatic motion or EMDR. Alternatively or moreover read the books of John Bradshow - it helps a lot to understand ourserves. I have learned to like what I eat - I would never eat processed food again, I can't stand the taste. Also, when fasting but get some hunger I offer me a nice cup of good smelling herbal tea, I remember myself to pendiculate (mindfully streatching my body - see the cats!).
This makes sense and explains why fasting shot put me into estrogen dominance the first time I tried a few years back. I’m gonna tip toe into the process this time and support my adrenals in the meantime. I’ll be getting your book very soon. You’ve been helping me a great deal lately!
Thank you Dr. Mindy and team for all your lessons and information you provide. Purchased your book along with copies for my friends and started a mini fast community. We are all in our early 50's in that gray area of menopause because we haven't gone a year without bleed. I, myself, had a restart possibly due to my covid illness and then subsequent vaccinations which upon research, coinsided with bleeds. (just my theory!) Now I'm FLAG-ing (not new to fasting however) and in the middle of 30 days. Love your content!
Amazing information in this video ❤ I have watched another explanation saying "stop fasting", but not why. Your videos empowers me to take my own decisions. And your book about fasting empowers me. I am so grateful that your channel exists. Thank you so much ❤❤❤
I'm excited for this video because I've been getting over 10,000 steps a day and wondering if it's too much I know it's good to have low and high days I appreciate you more than you know Dr. Mindy
Excellent! Just found you yesterday. Been binge watching your vids. This one was a bullseye. When you are “ stuck” you don’t know where or how to start. Thank you for the gentle approach and reminding me not to give up! 🙏🏾💞
Dr Mindy, is there info in your book about fasting during the post menopausal stage and steps of how long, etc? A lot of info on those still menstruating and when to fast but would love info on the after menopause stage and how to fast without affecting the adrenals too much. For those of us over 55. Thank you for all you do.
Oops! Was already doing keto, and decided to start intermittent fasting. Skipped breakfast, got busy, forgot about lunch, dinner came around a I wasn't hungry, so just went to bed. Didn't eat any food for 18 days and felt great! Only broke the fast because I was going to have to spend the next two weeks alone at work all and wasn't sure what would happen if I continued.

I'm so desperate, my rheumatologist can't figure out why my inflammation numbers are so high, i've been on every med, I feel like giving up. My face is swollen, the left side of my neck, my shoulder, ankles. It's been far to long, I need to try something else. I am going to try fasting.
Hey, how's it going for you..? My rheumatologist prescribed me a lifelong medicine but I havent started it yet.. I am trying to focus more on fasting, walking and eating somewhat clean.. I still get a bit dizzy or lightheaded while standing up or after walking
@@Sanaiya14 I wish I could say I was doing fantastic but I'm struggling again. New weekly injections plus Methotrexate and Hydro and my numbers are more stable but I'm back to the pain in my neck, fingers, toes etc. I'm still working on fasting and reducing foods with sugar but can't say I've found the magic cure.
@@debbieholden7790 hey, I am so sorry but hang in there.. I have prior experience with fasting solely for weight loss and it has worked wonders for me when nothing else did.. I kinda stopped fating altogether when I reached my goal weight so I am trying to start it again since now I have bigger health issues to deal with.. it does help me with inflammation but there are still days when I cant figure out if it's still working.. I am still looking for different fasting videos on how to cope with autoimmune conditions and so far I have found them useful.. I dont ever want to start the lifelong medicine for my condition so I am trying to be positive and consistent with fasting.. it might take time but I hope it works out well.. if nothing else, fasting at least helps with inflammation and minor infections.. we'll at least have something less to worry about!
There’s nothing more important than your peace of mind: money, prestige - absolutely nothing. Fasting helps, exercise helps, as does simply breathing in and breathing out and being in the present moment. If you are in an abusive relationship, cortisol levels will be high, if you have been in an abusive relationship and this remains unresolved, same thing, we may not have physical injuries but we suffer. Keep safe everyone, trust your instincts.
Thank you so much Dr Mindy, I've been binge watching your videos and can't get enough of your info. You're energy is infectious and I feel so empowered! Just wondering have you done any research into coffee or cocoa stressing out the adrenals? I've heard that the body reacts to coffee like a poison and tries to protect the brain by shutting off blood flow. I presume then it would alert the adrenals there's a threat? I do love both so wondering if you've covered this? Thanks so much for all you do and can't wait to read your book. It's in the post. love from Ireland ❤🔥🍀
I was fortunate to become a patient with an awesome osteopathic doctor. I've been receiving chiropractic adjustments that helped after a serious neck and back injury. Then my wonderful chiropractor moved away & although acupuncture really helped, it's even more expensive. So please include osteopathic physicians in your recommendations.
I have stage 2 adrenal fatigue and I feel like a 36 hour fast always calms my body down. I'm not always able to fast for that long of different reasons but when I feel good I just go along with it. My HRV (heart rate variability) always goes up really high at night when fasting for this long. I really recommend people buying a HRV monitor (like an Oura ring or a Garmin watch) so you can measure this and keep track of what's healing your body and what's not.
Thanks for sharing. Didn't know the HRV would matter that much. Dr. Eric Berg joint with a company and recently put an HRV device with extras on the market. It was quite expensive for me even with the discount, but reading the comments it was a good offer.
Dr Mindy I love your work and passion for getting people healthy the natural way. Im very grateful for you. I want to do a 3 day fast but i was diagnosed w Hashimoto 3 years ago. Hi! Thank you for sharing this information. I read that you are upading the menopause book and I am looking forward to get it! I have a question, if somebody is doing IF and months or years later wants to stop it. Are there going to be side effects? Like gaining much weight, health issues, etc? If so is there a way to minimize them?
Well depends, if you still eat clean and healthily and are very active, you may maintain your weight. But, I still recommend fasting as this is great for the body.
I did a six month heavy metal detox during my first year of CFS and it led me to a bad crush that made me bedridden for 6 months or so. I believe that detoxing and fasting is not recommended when you’re mentally, physically and emotionally weak and fragile. Supplements can also be very stressful on the body because in case of CFS and adrenal burnout, the digestive system becomes too weak do digest supplements and so is the rest of the body. I started using essential oils a month ago mostly orally and topically and the crippling anxiety and panic attacks are gone. I also started to sleep better. And I supplement myself with bioidentical progesterone in a cream form because it’s a very important hormone that many women with adrenal fatigue are deficient in. I find that eating a protein snack just before bed like a boiled egg or a few slices of cheese helps with anxiety and insomnia. And read somewhere that people recovering from adrenal fatigue or any kind of fatigue should be eating more protein throughout the day. But I hope Dr Mindy that I’ll be fasting like a girl once I am strong and resilient enough to do it regularly and consistently.
Yes. It's so sad that people who've been misused, especially since birth, & end up with health issues that prevent them from earning good wages, or needing to leave work because of health issues, are the ones who can not afford the things that help. Yet typically, the abusers can afford these things. 😢
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!! I never really intentionally fasted, but recently learned about the healing that comes with fasting. I'm on my first intentional 24 hour fast and am almost finished. Wow, I'm ready for that bone broth! Haha. I have been battling not wanting to workout anymore... when I'm usually full of energy... but why? Figured a fast might help. We'll see!

Just got the book delivered today and just discovered you about a week or so ago in an interview I came across. Praying this will give me some answers. I went through menopause after turning 30, had my thyroid removed a few years later. No memories of not being obese. Decided to implement IF and saw a 28 lb loss in Jan but have stalled since and no weight loss in 3 weeks even though I walk on a treadmill. I gave up sugar, any carbonated beverages (only drink water) and am eating low carb but the scale just won’t budge. Typically I stay around the 1000 calories a day mark. I still have 100 lbs to lose and getting very discouraged. Praying this book will give me some answers.
Def the book will guide you well… you may not be eating enough Protein and good fats… 1000 Cals is pretty low… may need to look into that… stay strong and Dr M’s book is great! ❤

Dr. Mindy and community have you ever experienced Vertigo symptoms during or after fasting during the refueling process? I’ve been training myself to do a three day Fast each month following your protocol. This January I was able to prepare and complete the process. I did experience some vertigo symptoms and constipation too. This time around I used Alkaline water and mineral water and detox tea to hydrate. Is there anything you would suggest I do differently next time. Ps. This “adrenal” fatigue conversation was also very helpful because I realized that January was ALSO one of the most stressful months of my life; with an elder parent in the hospital and recovery and an unforeseen tragic death in our family. I felt the fast helped me to “rest” but then the symptoms of dizziness have been concerning. Any suggestions or support would be so welcoming. Thank you for your kind attention.
Experiencing physical symptoms of a hyper stimulated nervous system from anxiety stress burnout so this is the only thing I haven’t tried. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Dr Mindy your podcast with Dr. Rangan was soooo incredible and needs more hype for real. Can you make a new video and explain the menstruation cycle which you spoke with him in the first 30 minutes...this can benefit so many women! i cant get your book in germany unfortunately.
Ppl need to meditate or self-hypnotize bc I've learned to turn thoughts off entirely esply as I love to sleep. Worry increases the possibilities of whatever you worry about (law of attraction). One can also find raw adrenals supplements, just go easy on mgs to start and be sure you have a highly-rated product w/out lots of additives in it. I love my good fats and I will never go plant-based or vegan no matter what these other 'docs' tell us. Thx Dr M!
Hi Dr Mindy, I’ve been following you since the beginning and just love all your videos ❤my husband suffers from adrenal fatigue and has been slowly losing muscle mass past eight years due to chronic stress. We have been following carnivore diet past three years but that hasn’t helped him to gain muscle. Would intermittent fasting help him in this situation ? I’m thinking that perhaps if it is cortisol hormone causing him to lose muscle mass, would fasting not exacerbate this situation ? Doctors / specialists have sucked us dry so we do not have the funds available to purchase all these aids/tools like RLT, saunas etc to help him to improve his current catabolic status and healing. Would appreciate your insight or suggestions please ? 🙏❤❤❤
Beginners Fast, please. I have never thought that my mental health issues (Traumatic experiences 3 years ago), could be the reason I couldn't lose weight, despite going low carb/keto and fasting. Thanks for this video.

How to recover from stage 3 adrenal fatigue? My nervous system is dysregulated and my body is stuck in fight/flight, dorsal vagal and overload stress. It is in a catabolic stage on and off for over 6 years, cannibalizing its own protein. I have severe hairloss and muscle loss (but gained a lot of belly fat). I've been on and off of keto and IF, my severe chocolate addiction is keeping me mostly in a bad eating spiral. I've been doing all the things to relax more, like meditation, slow walks in the park, connecting with nature, breathing. Some things are slowly getting better, but my sleep is still way off and I have no idea what to eat, when, how much and how often. I want to gain back my muscles (and hair) but I have no energy or strength to do and keep up the excercise/ or do some strength training. Could you make a video and elaborate more on the issue when the AF is in stage 2 and 3 and the nervous system is dysregulated? Especially in this current timeline with all these ongoing fearmongering issues going on (mostly since the pandemic), I would say more people have dysregulated NS. Would your 72 hr water fast be a good idea for me to do?
Goddamn this is insightful! I'm pretty sure I became insuline resistant from severe chronic stress from cptsd. Literally did not sleep for a year and shaking from stress non stop until I went into freeze. I am doing keto which helped because I had to eat every 2 hours or else I would snap. On keto I am still struggling when cortisol is high. Which is often. I get extremely cranky and hungry and when I eat I am almost like a feral animal when I just chuck it down because my body feels like it's on the brink of starvation.I sleep very poorly and can't think straight and feel tense non stop. I just also had surgery under gerenal anesthesia so my toxins are probably high too.... It must be the cortisol that makes me so numb and hungry and wanting to drink alcohol non stop. I wish I could have some one on one advice from this doctor. She is AMAZING

I'm 49. Head trauma as a child. Car accident at 24 .Appendix removed same year. Diagnosed Fibromyalgia chronic fatigue. Affected my family life and prof Career. Went driving trucks. Researched food to help uncle Tom. with Alzheimer's. Was in pain. I decided to eat once a day. Ribeye steak, liver eggs. I even went raw for a week or two. One black decaf with butter in the morning. Asthma went away in two weeks. Back pain same. Memory improved to bring my childhood photographic memory back. I went to a funeral back home. Drank a few pints of stout. Lost all the benefits over night. I have fasted for two to three days and noticed my eye sight improve. I'm stressed now. Adrenal fatigue has the same symptoms as Fibromyalgia. I still fast. Cut out coffee sugar gluten and lately I try do a more strenous fast workout most days. I think cortisol levels are dropping and my brain fog is going. Had an osteopath check me after I injured my back neck. He reckons the childhood head trauma has affected me, as has the appendix removal. I'm taking my health serious again and getting better. Adrenal exhaustion is something we can get stuck in through bad digestion from excess cortisol leading to brain fog along with the fatigue etc. We need discipline. And I'm thinking for people with no appendix, we lose so much time and recovery from breaking out with sugar or gluten etc as it takes longer for our gut flora to adjust. I'd like to stay low carb but I'm not so worried if I'm eating once or at least have a tight eating window. My digestive tract is not an entertainment centre. Ingest accordingly.
Great support Dr Mindy. Thanks to God, you’re so incredible you thought me a lot. I have started 5-1-1 and I am planning to vary it by 4-2-1 and 3-3-1 gradually. I have already started feeling better and better. I am a post mono 54. Please send me Beginners Fast. Thanks and God bless you❤

After some trails and errors, I have been maintaining 13-15 hours fasting daily. If I increase the time... it backfire. Exercises have been the same... I increased training, and started to put weight, and feeling not so good. Decrease to 2x/wk training and walking daily, and lots of water... I am losing weight very slowly, but losing it. Something that didn´t happen in 2 decades. I also cut since Jan/23 sugar/carbs as much as I could. Not to a zero, but to a healthier place. IT is a working process with lots of adjustments... Don´t give up... just adapt, modify and keep going... one day... you will find a formula that works best for your unique biology. Blessings

I’ve fasted during Ramadan with my husband, and it has been an eye opening experience. I would love to have your beginners fast to better help me fast regularly.
You're brilliant Brian 👏👌😀🙌 so happy your commitment paid off 👏🎉
What's a coffee enema? Well done. FMS is awful. People think you are crazy. I reckon it's adrenal exhaustion even though was diagnosed with CFS FMS etc. Good stuff in, fasting and treating cortisol as a priority in terms of its reduction.

I think severe *orn addiction fried my adrenals, I'm recovering now. My last streak was 30 days, now I'm on day 5 and I'm proud of myself
I’ve been hearing from other experts that intermittent fasting during adrenal fatigue is not good
How are you feeling now? Any better? I felt best on IF and keto too, until my adrenals crashed.
Sleep by 10pm
Reduce stress
Techniques like adrenal yoga and adrenal breathing
Gentle non stimulatory supplements
I’m on Vit C 2 different kinds of
Glutathione
Fulvic acid
Hypoglycemic diet- mini meals thru out day
Grounding, being out in nature
Salt water every morning. Sea salt or Celtic salt
@@MonicaRoca-sc5nv thank you. I’m so sorry to hear about your dog. Thinking of you!
Thank you…hope you are doing better with your adrenals and overall health…
My adrenal fatigue was caused by copper toxicity. I made the connection when my ALCAT panel showed allergies to high copper foods and my hair analysis showed off the chart copper. I did chelation via suppositories every 3 days for 9 mos and my energy returned and my cortisol came online.
That’s my story.
Hey could you mention what your protocol looked like? I’ve been curious in doing the Andy Cutler detox but not sure about it.

@@WalkingwithWendy Re twitching eye, you might want to try taking a multi vitamin, apparently that can be due to a lack of minerals.

Are u healed completely ? I also feel
Like 36hour fasting gets back some of my hormones , but many people say fasting is bad on adrenal fatigue .
@@Ganesh-gw7nb Well, turned out I had MCAS not adrenal fatigue and the fasting did a reset on my immune system so I'm completely healed :)

I would really like to get a CGM, but have not found one that I can remotely afford. Nutrisense is wildly expensive.

Hello! I would love to receive beginners fasting video course to help me in my journey!

Hi Dr. Mindy, so glad I discovered your work! What is your recommended approach to heavy metal cleansing? Is this something fasting can help with once you've built your body up to it?

Hi Mindy, I have suspected cushing’s & was wondering if king fasts are safe for me? I have gone from 16-18hours a day & tried to do a 72hour fast but only did 42hours as I was feeling very unwell with extreme stomach & muscle cramps
Wonderful video.
Dr Mindy : thank you!

Thank you. ive learned a lot from this video.🙏
🤗
Blessings
Hi to everyone all the way from England 😊

Could you address the issue of people that have a hard time gaining weight?
I’ve fasted during Ramadan with my husband, and it has been an eye opening experience. I would love to have your beginners fast to better help me fast regularly.
