    It’s interesting that people refer to meditation, yoga and reiki and all sort of different ways of healing but they never talk about prayer which is above all those methods of relaxation and healing, when you’re meditating on God’s attributes and connect with Him and feel His love pouring out on you. The sweet, sweet presence of God!!!

      The more I study the causes of these problems and the things that work best to heal, the more I see the things that heal lead back to God…
      Such as the nervous system needing to feel safe and at peace, and how He gives us peace that passes understanding (yes, even in spite of the traumas which often seem to be at the root of these problems)
      I praise my God who heals! 🙌🏻

    During the pandemic I started "birding" / bird watching because I was bored. Thanks to that, I am now outside in my spare time, no matter what weather or season it is. It has helped me so much to handle the stress my job causes. Being outside in nature, moving my body and seeing the beauty of the world where is literally the best thing for me personnaly. I really don't wanna miss it.

      I agree with this. Because of long covid I started going out to the backyard to put my bare feet on the earth & lay my legs in the sun and I discovered a world of beauty, healing and relaxation out there. Now everyday I visit the world of the apple tree, the weather, the blue jays, the toads, the wasps & the squirrels just because the diversity is so soothing.

    Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus said .
    “ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”❤
    I am recovering from adrenal fatigue and God used this to change my heart. He showed me how much of unnecessary things I put on myself. How important it is to be giving Him my burdens , spend time with Him and rest in Him. I am grateful for this journey because I got to know God better ❤

    As a mental health counselor I recognize the symptoms you are discussing are also symptoms people experience when they have complex trauma, especially when this trauma goes unresolved. This is because the body, physiologically, is in a constant state of fear and stress. It really fits with what you are talking about as well as Polyvagal Theory.

    • @sun-shine9305
      @sun-shine9305 2 года назад +32

      They may line up with the same symptoms because in trauma the adrenals are hugely impacted! So adrenals and trauma go together.

    • @davidrickman6334
      @davidrickman6334 2 года назад +20

      @@joannad8047 There are therapeutic methods such as EMDR and IFS (which I use) to process childhood trauma in a mental and effective way. However, there is mounting evidence that before most counseling therapies can be effective, we have to regulate the internal physical state of someone who experienced traumatic childhood events. This is because of the strong mind, body, neurology connection. Trauma, especially repeated childhood trauma, actually causes you body to live in a state of fear. Here, a wholistic approach is very effective at processing childhood trauma.

    • @davidrickman6334
      @davidrickman6334 2 года назад +6

      @Holding the Line Good morning. I hope you are enjoying your grad program. I use guided meditation exercises for calming, psycho education to help clients understand their physical state and trauma reactions, and some EMDR resourcing to help (such as Safe Space and Safe Container). I default to IFS for trauma processing because it is actually more "gentle" than EMDR.

    I have drinked coffee when i was 16. I'm now 32. I drank atleast 3-5 cups a day. I had so bad burnout that when i drank coffee i literally started to feel dizzy. When the burnout showed some really bad symptoms i had high blood pressure, high HR. I had really bad anxiety and my heart was palpating like crazy non stop. I just had to quit coffee cold turkey after all these years. I was on a long sick leave when i basically just slept and slept. I'm still recovering and i feel exhausted but i'm much better. I eat much healtier and try to REST as much possible and i try to keep my body calm. I've moved from weight lifting to yoga, pilates and walking. So after i stopped the coffee i wanted to test it after a long time. After just one cup i had SO bad anxiety and my HR went up drastically and i started to sweat. Even on the evening i felt like i couldn't sleep. I didn't believe how bad symptoms I got from JUST ONE CUP! Now I understand what kind of poison it really is for me and I learned that i've abused my body with it all these years. I still love the taste and smell of coffee but i moved to chicory from regular coffee.

    As someone who had accumulated stress over time, EMDR therapy was very helpful to process developmental trauma. I think there isn’t enough emphasis on the physiological stresses that can be at least as impactful as the psychological traumas. For me, my breast implants created a allergic immune system response to the chemical adhesives. This put my body in a chronic state of emergency for years. I had them removed after trips to the ER showed no signs of any other reason for all the adrenal burnout symptoms with inability to take a deep breath…chest pressure. I had great relief over the last 6 months but slowly the adrenal burnout fatigue became more intense. It will take much longer than I thought to heal as I had no idea about adrenal burnout. I really do have a healthy peaceful lifestyle.

    Adrenal fatigue when it gets really bad is a nightmare.

As someone who has fought COVID 3 times 2020-2021/2022 i almost died twice, i was very sick and constantly in and out of the hospital with no help or answers at times. And to add on before the pandemic I was going through parent death and my mothers abuse and abandonment, i went all through this as a 14 year old girl with no therapy or professional help and now I’m 21, because of the pandemic and quarantine the stress has only added on. I’m taking my health into my own hands this year and I’m very much sure I’m dealing with chronic adrenal fatigue. Clostridia Bacteria Overgrowth. Get an Organic Acids Test from Great Plains Laboratory. You may need to see a Functional Medicine person to do this for you. It's not cheap unfortunately. Look for elevated HPHPA metabolites. It's essentially an infection that creates ongoing neurotoxins. Much different to C. Difficile or other more obvious Clostridia infections. It can occur after periods of chronic stress, unhealthy lifestyle, eating, alcohol etc. Requires antibiotics and probiotics. Therefore you need to see someone who knows about it.
      You should also see a psychologist to cover off all bases. Stress can be invisible and happens when things in our life are in conflict with the authentic desires of our psyche or subconscious.

Fast forward about a week and I ate dinner and then bam--sent me into a 36 hour adrenaline rush..the worst symptom is all my muscles feel like they are going to cramp and I feel so weak..now I am getting them on and off..Going to my functional doctor tomorrow and I stopped the protocol after that 36 hour rush a week ago..so the program was too stimulating to my adrenals so I went from one end of the HPA axis to the other.. One sided nostril belly breathing in for 5 and out my mouth for 7 does help alot but not always..

    I have heard that hair mineral test is very useful when it comes to adrenal fatigue and its more acurate than blood test.

      It is, for sure. My potassium and sodium levels went from low to sky high after a retest, so my cortisol actually went up because apparently high potassium equals high cortisol

    Even with the second opinion, Dr. isn't telling me much of anything. Good news is biopsy says benign, other than that, same problems, still bleeding. Videos like this, is the closet I've gotten to understanding why I've felt exhausted for the last 10yrs. Now, on the next Urologist visit, I know more questions to ask because recently it just feels like their just collecting because I have insurance. They never even said something as simple as cut out the coffee/caffeine, or let's check your hormone levels, I'll soon be 50, soooo menopause is possibly happening. My hair comes out by the handful, I don't even have strength to workout like I used to, it's literally been 4yrs at least, and if I try, I bleed. I have a job that's extremely physical, and I bleed. I lost 12lbs in 3 months, I tell this to Urologist, and they just look at me. You're in and out, and billed. I've got to keep researching, and after this next visit, if I'm still not satisfied, 3rd opinion I go!!!

    I often wake up to use bathroom at 3 am and then my mind and body wake up too early and I can't get back to sleep. I have to drink chamomile or eat whole grain bread and nut butter to get to sleep again.

    Yes, I feel that. I have zero energy all day long but certain times it's even worse (yes, worse). My Dutch test came back and I was diagnosed with adrenal dysfunction.

      @@tallchick1966 b1 helps you to sleep better at night, digest better, helps with anxiety, and it gives energy. benfotiamine is the fat soluble version of b1 and is more bio available.

    Dr. Hyman, there is a lot of good information in your videos but it's pretty irritating when you keep interrupting your guests. It would be great just to listen without all the side tracking. Thank you.

    My endocrinologist treats only thyroid and diabetes. My TSH shows I take too much thyroid (NDT) meds, according to them. When they lower it I am non-functional. I keep asking for adrenal tests but they refuse. The PA yelled at me that there's nothing wrong with me, I have just gotten crazy ideas in my head and if I would get those out of my head I'd find out I'm just fine. So I continue with the extreme fatigue and other symptoms. My PC physician just refers me back to the endocrinologist. I don't know why I even pay for insurance and see doctors. I can't then afford a functional medicine doctor.

    Environmental toxins are a huge stress. Especially moldy homes. Mercury fillings. My body can’t tag mycotoxins and now I am sick from living in mold and having 12 fillings for over 40 years.

      There’s an app that’s called GI. It’s for the Glycemic Index but it has a LOT of information that you’re looking for. It’s not the only one, there are others you can choose from. Good luck.
