1:02 How to do the adrenal fatigue diet
1:50 The first thing to do-healthy keto and intermittent fasting
    5:35 What to do next
In this video, I’m going to cover what you need to know about the adrenal fatigue diet. Another name for this diet would be the adrenal body type diet. I talk extensively about this diet in my book, “The Healthy Keto Plan.” My book has been through several updates, and today I’m going to explain the latest version of this specific diet.
I created different plans based on body types. These four body type plans are to be done after someone has done the basic plan and didn’t get results.
    The four body types are:
    • The adrenal body type
    • The liver body type
    • The ovary body type
    • The thyroid body type
Why would someone need to do the adrenal fatigue diet?
    • They might have adrenal fatigue.
    • They did the keto plan and intermittent fasting, but they didn’t get the results they intended.
What is the adrenal fatigue diet?
    • It’s additional steps to improve your results.
When would you need to do the adrenal fatigue diet?
    • After two weeks of not getting results.
The adrenal fatigue diet plan helps reset and will help increase recovery. The adrenal gland is a stress gland. This is actually the most common body type because the average person goes through a lot of stress and the adrenal gland takes a beating, cortisol is stimulated over and over, the person goes into fight or flight mode, and they stress out. Now, the adrenal hormones are pumping out more hormones than they need to over a long period of time. This can cause someone not only to be tired, but it can reduce their ability to recover, heal, and lose weight. The adrenal fatigue diet might just help.

I also learned to make my cocoa with water and just a bit of milk, cause i find milk worsen my allergy. so cocoa keeps me calm, has a lot of magnesium and other minerals, and make me feel good overall.

1 Do healthy keto and intermittent fasting for 2 weeks
    -20-50g of carbs (or less)
-moderate protein 3-6 ounces of meat-per meal (high quality protein per meal eggs, fish, chicken, grass fed beef)
-high fat 100-130g 70% of calories
-veggies 7-10 cups (don't count vegetable carbohydrates)
(if that doesn't work after 2 weeks follow plan below)
1 increase protein to 7-9 ounces per meal
2 Increase fat (avocado, egg yolks, coconut oil, butter)(adrenal hormones are made from fats)
    3 Key nutrients
-vitamin B1, the more stress you go through the more you burn up vitamin B1, when you take excessive thinking will go away and a sense of relief
-vitamin C, when people have adrenal fatigue their usually deficient in vitamin C, foods(sauerkraut, bell peppers, vegetables)
-Potassium, the more adrenal fatigue you have the less potassium you're going to have, take electrolytes
    4 exercise
-long walks in nature for 1 hour (no phone or answering calls)(getting space and oxygen)
    5 stress technique

And here you are just giving the information away for nothing more than my willingness to watch your video. I was doing really well on Keto & IF. Down 70# & felt like I was in decent shape. Along came Family "having to have" Carbs & sugar around all the time. As I gave into their common denominator, I found I got angrier and impatient with everybody making messes & not cleaning up after themselves. Having gremlins around can really mess up the momentum of healthy Keto. Objective ignorance demands several meals a day on schedule with carbs and sweets to top it off. I found not having anybody around, is healthier.

Healthier for them, too, unfortunately. Your own toxic attitude and nescient codependence and behavior clearly made you an utterly insufferable pr**k to live with. Your own self-induced stress not only significantly undermined your own health and previous progress, but it most certainly caused immeasurable harm to their health as well, at least as bad as the carb/sugar toxicity.
Damn shame, really. Hope for much better health for the lot of you.

Ever since I've dropped all carbs and sugar besides sweet potatoes, my anxiety has completely subsided. I keep a carb in there because I tend to lose waaaay too much water and get dehydrayed if I don't (although I will admit I lose weight really fast the more carbs I cut). I have found that I can still reach ketosis (I get that nasty breath) even with eating a sweet potato everyday while doing IF. Total net carbs usually comes out to about 50g per day. It's amazing what getting the proper nutrition can do for our bodies.

    • @katstaff317

@@chevyblueangel At the beginning stages especially, you will urinate a lot and you will have a weird taste in your mouth. Usually energy levels will go up but you will get extremely fatigured if you don't add in extra salt and potassium, so make sure you hydrate with electrolytes! Rapid weight loss is also a good indicator you are in ketosis.

      @katstaff317 Год назад +4

@@CubitaLola Yes definitely! I tend to prefer fruit (berries, cherries, grapes) over potatoes/rice now but if sweet potatoes work for you, eat them. What I've just started is liver, for copper (flabby skin from weight loss) and more potassium (cream of tartar).
I think massage and gentle exercise very important.

I’ve watched several videos of your adrenal series and feel like I’ve finally found answers! So many of these issues I deal with daily. I’m now starting intermittent fasting and Keto, and heard good things about alternative day fasting. My concern is does this fasting method work well or against adrenal fatigue body types? Thank you for opening my eyes!

Hello Kira. We don't see any problem with that. Dr. Berg recommends regular fasting but since you are new, just do it gradually and give your body some time to adjust.

    To Dr. Berg:
I love your videos, thank you for publishing such valuable info!
You mentioned in another video that berries can spike insulin, so I do all fruit do this? I thought a small amount of berries in my the diet was not so bad for keto.
That’s a bit disappointing because I like getting a boost of vitamin C from kiwis, not just from green vegetables. Could only one or two kiwis really spike insulin? Thanks again!

Dr Berg, many people do not recommend intermittent fasting at all for Adrenal Fatigue, in fact they recommend frequently eating to balance out the blood sugar level. You’ve helped so much and wanted to see your opinion on this.

I fall into this category, I need to eat every few hours and through the night.

    • @DMWB57
      @DMWB57 2 года назад +9

Eating every few hrs is not going to balance sugar levels! It will eventually cause diabetes 2. If one has adrenal fatigue increasing protein/fats will help adrenal function, and increasing vit. c which our adrenals need. I suspect its high carbs low fat lifestyle that contributed to adrenal burnout to begin with so trust that you can do IF but go slower.

Fasting with adrenal fatigue is dangerous. Take it from a person who has had adrenal fatigue for 10 years. 2020 was the worst and I’m still struggling. When you’re doing keto you have to wait until you’re fat adapted until you start fasting or it will screw up your adrenals even more.

I had a baby, I had a 1 year old diagnosed with severe autism and PANS, and my marriage almost ended all in the same time frame.... I can legitimately say stress almost killed me. My kidneys got so infected I went septic with a 105 fever. But the entire time prior...I kept feeling pain in my back area....turns out it was my adrenal glands.... my aldesterone levels are also completely off....going in next month to do a saline infusion test. I've never been so tired in my life, especially on my periods. This was all on keto diet....going to do IF again to see if that helps.

Love your videos and the info. you provide, but... there seem to be a couple of inconsistencies here - not saying errors, would just like clarification.
Most articles I've read on adrenal fatigue suggest NOT doing IF. My adrenals are extremely weak at the moment. I've been doing IF for 3-4 months and still feel pretty crappy until my first meal. On days when I have an a.m. appointment, I eat breakfast (still fast for approx. 14 hrs.) and feel much better.
Also, if I try walking more than 25-30 minutes, I experience an energy crash (post exertion malaise) that can last days.

    • @Arrasel
      @Arrasel 2 года назад +3

      Don't listen to this video

I also did poorly on Keto because of my adrenals, but I could still IF when I ate carbs during my feeding window. I can't do vigorous exercise for more than a few minutes without having days of fatigue afterward, but I've always walked a lot, so I get a few miles in each day by walking to and from a bus stop farther away than my usual one.
