This looks like taking very long time to cut then separating is very fiddly,I need it to make acrylic cake toppers which are going to be names, but no for me, that's too much, thanks for this video xx
www.amazon.com/CalPalmy-Plexiglass-Crafting-Projects-Protective/dp/B083TV8VBD It is actually PETG, similar to what water bottles are made from. Acrylic is stiffer but more brittle and cracks easily. PETG is softer and is tough (hence the effort to get the parts out of the cut sheet). Hope that helps.
Hi there! I'm new here. Thanks for the video. Very informative. So I have a Cricut Maker 3, and the knife blade. Is it possible to make cake charms with this acrylic? I thought I did research before buying, but now I'm finding it doesn't seem possible. Please let me know. :)
ah ok, so then maybe this material won't work well if i intend to use it to make leather and book cover debossing dies. malleable plastic might deform under vice pressure. thanks for the clarification.
I came to this video to understand why some of my customers (I'm selling acrylic) wants to buy acrylic to cut on their $50 machine... Now I understand ! This is not Acrylic. Acrylic do not bend. It is a lot more brittle and will break like glass. DO NOT cut acrylic on Cricut. Use a laser Cutting machine.
So I have thought about that, it’s a good idea. I need to try it. I’m going to be cutting some scrub tops this weekend I’ll try it and see if it works and I will let you know.
I feel like as long as you get it in the exact same spot it should work. Just making sure it’s in the same exact spot would be the only thing, cause just being slightly off would probably mess the whole thing up
Any time you release the mat from the machine, it's almost impossible to get it to cut in the same exact place again, even for the same project. Or even if you do it immediately after.
Hi how are you? Thank you for your videos and wanted to ask you … what are the settings that you use for your old explore air 2 … I bought the acrylic Clear 0.02 with the 350 pressure, deep blade, and 14 passes … and didn’t cut through… I think I’m not using the right setting … and help would be appreciated 🥰
Oh gosh, I can’t remember let me think but, don’t take out your Mat and set it to go again so it runs twice. I do sometimes have to give it the bendy bend to make it come apart. I’ll remember setting and come back.
I use them with epoxy on them. Without, I’m not sure how well they would hold up because if you bend at them they will crack. Normal wear and tear I’m not sure.
@@themostcraftynurse3914 So if i put epoxy or uv resin on top of them than it should be okay? I really like the idea of being able to make my own acrylic blanks :)
@@KaoKrafts Hi :) i am currently trying the same. have you figured it out now? Is there a chance to make acrylic blanks with the cricut maker yourself? whats your experience so far? would be lovely to hear from you ! :) greetings ann
Ladies you can cut this in 5 to 10 minutes if you cut it with a Dremel rotary tool with a cone shaped guide attachment to steady it while your cutting. Or use a scroll saw, also from Dremel. They have a small one for small projects that connects o your table.. I have a Maker.but,14 passes is wayyyyy to much for me. Ijs.
I have been trying to figure out what these plastic sheets were called for so long!! Hahaha. I need them for packaging and charms, I may hand cut them though. I would be scared to break my Cricut's blade! :0
What if the item you want to cut needs to be only a 1" and has a lot of edges. Or if it needs to be 3" and is of a character outline? Like say My Melody or a Star or Cinnamoroll? Is it possible to cut these out to fit the image for the keychain?
Hello friend, I have seen videos where they have done this using the cricket air and the deep cut blade. I have not tried it myself only with maker for me.
Thank you, I’m using an hour laptop for connection and the holder came from Michaels it is a Cricut product so they may have it on their website. I did locate it on Amazon. Called Cricut machine tool organizer. 17.99. I’ll put link in description.
It is an HP, very inexpensive I picked it up at Walmart for right under $300. Works great for what I need it for. I usually use my iPad with my Cricut however there’s some things that you have to use an actual computer for so I use my laptop.

do you think this acrylic is to thin to make earring hanger holders with the cricut?
Yay! I finally got it to work!! Thank you so much for your help!
Do you have a link for this the acrylic that you used? I'm not seeing this one on Amazon.

I tried cutting the 2mm thick acrylic sheet and it didn't work. I need to probably replace my knife blade
I'm using 0.40 nothing is working for me... acetate nor basswood and I'm doing 3 x the recommended

Hi, is this how people make acrylics for badge reels? How do we get like a cow shape?
If you take a small piece of tape applied to the corner of the protective film it peels right back. :)
What acrylic do you use and how thick is it please?
Great video! But warning: this PETG not acrylic. PETG is softer and more mailable and acrylic is harder and more brittle.
Thank you friend, do they work the same otherwise?
PETG is actually crafty acrylic! Great video!

Where do you find the link?
would be nice to be able to see what your doing to release as your hands are under the camera angle
since its the same dimensions would you be able to flip it over and do more passes to prevent having to tug on it?

If I wanted to make my own acrylic blanks for keychains will this work? Like is it strong enough to be a keychain?

Thank you for this great info friend. I have a Dremel I’ll have to find the attachment
Are you talking about the rotary attachment?
Che punta o lama hai usato?
Great video! Do you have to file the edges down at all?
No I don’t they are pretty even an I put epoxy on mine.
I have been trying to figure out what these plastic sheets were called for so long!! Hahaha. I need them for packaging and charms, I may hand cut them though. I would be scared to break my Cricut's blade! :0
Try cutting the shape in a square, then cut a horizontal line from side to side avoiding the shape of course, then you can break the excess easily.

can you cut in mm?
What are the settings?! For the cut
Did it work for explore air 2 when yes how can i do it pls help
My daughter had an air, when my next order of sheets come in I will try on hers.
Bonjour, peut-on le faire avec la cricut explore aires 2 ?
Hello friend, I have seen videos where they have done this using the cricket air and the deep cut blade. I have not tried it myself only with maker for me.
Can be done only with maker 3???
I have seen a Pinterest page saying that you can cut using the deep cut blade in the air. I personally have never tried though.
My knife blade tip broke while on the first 7 passes ? Any ideas what went wrong?
What? That’s crazy, I’m sorry no idea. I cut all kinds of things with mine no issues. I’m so sorry that happened to you.
Had been looking for this!!
Help me please. Some of the cutting options aren’t available for me to click do you need Cricut assess to be able to choose all the materials 😩
You do not need access for cutting options. 1) what option are you trying to use?
2) what machine do you have
3) iPad/tablet or computer?
Where did you get your acrylic?
I bought mine on amazon, it’s the thin.
Thank you so much for this video. Would you be able to use an exacto knife on this?
Oh yes for sure
How thick is the acrylic
Not very, 0.4 I personally use this with epoxy not alone.
Awesome video, thank you 👊 2 questions, what is device connection, looks like a tablet. 2nd where did you get that holder on the right?

Honestly? For a good deal of the video, we are seeing only bits of your finger, certainly not seeing how you manipulate the acrylic to free it.
Sorry it’s hard to bend it to take it apart and be video friendly at the same time, I just bend them back and forth on the cut until they loosen
Does anyone mind making a necklace for me if so let me know
