Just made night lights for my college daughter’s roommates for Christmas. They turned out so great, thanks for the great video. Did learn one thing though, when I wiped off the acrylic after it cut design the shards scratched the circle. So to correct that I used a piece of the painters tape to collect the shards so they wouldn’t be rubbed over the design….it worked perfectly. This will definitely be a new gift idea for me in the future too!!
Jennifer, you're an amazing teacher! I've now been watching your videos for a couple of years and am always amazed at how thorough you always are in your instructions. You make crafting so much fun and easy to do. Thanks for all you do❣️
Jennifer, I just want to say thank you SO much for all of the amazing, wonderful, helpful videos that you do! I have had a Cricut Maker since around January 2023. I LOVE your videos because you are so thorough in every one of them. I have Fibromyalgia, and one of the struggles that we Fibro warriors are faced with daily is what we call fibro fog. This means that we forget things ALOT, so there is a lot of having to watch videos several times to understand, or lots of rewinding parts to listen again, and again, and again...lol. I am trying to start a small business from home, with my fibro, there are some days when I'm not feeling great. You are making it possible for me to do this with all of your helpful, very thorough videos. I truly thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I am engraving the fox, for the night light right now. I am so excited to see how it turns out! I will definitely post the pics! Thanks again Jennifer xo
I’m just starting out ….got my machine yesterday. So far, I’m testing out writing and cutting with different cardstock…hopefully it won’t be long before I can do things like this! Think I’m going to have a long Christmas list this year xxx Thank you so much for all your tutorials, they’re super!
I used your fox on a keychain - super cute! I think I posted it..Just rewatching this as I want to make some more engraved keychains using my own designs. BTW - you are an awesome teacher!
These are amazing and your instructions are wonderful as usual! If I could make one suggestion to the project it would be to mirror the image so when it's engraved, the smooth side faces you. Much easier to clean the fingerprints. Thanks for another great video!
I just had an idea! Since you leave the backing on the side that touches the mat (until later), why not find the center of the acrylic disc using a ruler or some other method, & then either put a dot in the very center, or actually draw a + on it, which will help you to line it up with the very middle of the mat? 😃 Then when you're done engraving, you remove the protective cover that you've drawn on, & there you go! Perfect!

Hi!! Love your videos. Your instructions are always fabulous. I was wanting to engrave on a cork fabric. Can I use the engraving blade for that? Do you have an idea what setting to use? Thank you so much. Take care ❤️
John Builds It here on YT used plexiglass and a template made by his wife’s cricut to etch using a liquid etching substance… technically you can still etch without a Maker. Checkout his shadow box build and he shows how he etches his plexi glass
Like the fox. Am thinking about engraving for the first time and have a question about the outer spacing. You used quarter of an inch, but my acrylic blank is only one inch wide. What is the least amount I can have the image be away from the edge of the blank?
Please don't use alcohol to clean acrylic. It WILL damage it and cause cracking - maybe not immediately but it will. Lighter fluid (naphtha) works instead.
I agree with @darkmoonemporium. I worked 6 years at BBW, and we ruined so many acrylic containers for our displays because we were using rubbing alcohol to clean the dust, glitter and dried body products off the acrylic displays.
Thank you very much, they all look great, the good thing I just bought my graving tool, I just want to ask you about sublimates with inject printer, if it is possible, thank you ❤

Any ideas on how to make the 2mm blank fit snug in the 4mm led base( that is usually sold). I tried few workarounds but they seem cheap and may be. Fire hazard.
I love your project! Would I be able to use 5 inch discs as long as they are 2mm thick? I ask because I can't find 4.5 inch discs, and I'm not sure if the 5 inch discs will fit inside the light base?

how come u are sticking the disk in the middle of the mat?? do u have to put it in the same place on the screen? and do u have to make it the right size to fit

Where do you get the light base from? The ones I order are a little bit big so the acrylic is a bit loose and wobbles.
So are the ones that we use are as well. The links are below the video.
How do you convert a photo to engrave? I am new doing things with my cricut.
The photo needs to be converted to an SVG. There are websites like CuteCutter.com where you can do so for free. 😊🌻
