I NEVER comment on RUclips, but omg...when I say this is life changing 😂 Thank you SO much! This worked perfectly using the deep cut blade. I’m so happy to have found this video. Thank you again!!!
I watched this video about 5 times. Very nifty and the name came out great! I would’ve added a bit of tylose powder to the fondant so it dries/stiffens before cutting it. Well done and thanks for sharing. ❤
4 years with Cricut making just paper cake toppers, 3 machines now including cameo but crying when cutting fondant names with x-acto blade by hand 😢😢 THANK YOU to your videos no more crying!!!
This is awesome, I am new to cricut world and I am trying to learn heaps of different stuff before start using it. I wonder if it would cut well with sugar paper/icing sheet
This is so amazing thus video should have millions of view thank u so much I bake cake and I wanted to invest on the cricut make 3 but this just confirms that I will be purchasing mines soon.thank u thank u.
I was wondering if this was possible. I have been doing things the hard way. Thanks so much for sharing this method. I have a Cricut Create, so it only has a 6x12 mat, but I am thinking with some adjustments, it should work for mine as well.
Thank you for the wonderful tutorial. We have tried making our own mat as you have suggested in the tutorial and followed it exactly, making it slightly shorter. But before the first cut, the cricut pulls the mat in to measure the size of the mat and because it is shorter than a "standard" mat, it is rejected. Is there anything we have missed or that we can stop it doing this to measure the mat? (We have an explore 3). Thank you for your help, Rob
That is the problem with 3 model machines. They scan length of mat. Perhaps you can try with some thinner material applied directly to the mat to save on thickness.
Thank you for this! I have the old explorer where the settings are pretty much relying on the dial. If I cannot customize my setting like you did, what would be the closest setting I can set the dial to? Cardboard, thick paper, etc…?
Hi Lore, the Cricut Cake blade itself is discontinued. You can however find some from sellers on EBay if you are lucky. If you cannot find one, then you can use the Deep Blade from Cricut and it works just as well.
I love your Matt I dea i def have to try it but I did purchased the correct Matt from icing images ETSY page but why do I move those rollers and then do I put them back to where they were, Im scared to move them
I don’t see why you can’t. It’s literally just cutting it. It’s not like using your printer with regular ink and then changing the cartridges to edible ink cuz there would still be traces of the old ink in there. This is just a cutter and you’re using a fresh blade and mat
Incredibly grateful to you for sharing your hard work. This is brilliant! 💖💖 Your steps are so easy to follow and my first time to use your techniques came out beautifully! Thank you!
It explicitly says though that regular Cricut machines are not food safe. There are Cricut cake machines that are. I’m just wondering, does anyone know why regular machines aren’t food safe? Is it just the mat, or the cutting tools/housing/etc?
Best tutorial I have ever seen. Is it possible to make cookie molds with this machine. I do want to get one but I need to do more research on which one to get. 🥰
I was so fired up to do this and commented in a Facebook cricut group that I was trying it. But people were saying that it's not food safe, it has oil in the gears (?) and even cricut website says not suitable for cutting fondant. Is this going to ruin my machine or even worse make anyone ill?
I know this is a old comment but I saw no oil on her fondant after it was cut. I don’t see how it would ruin your machine either if you’re using a designated blade and making sure the fondant isn’t too soft. Just mix with a little tylose and let it sit or use gum paste so it’s less likely to snag
Belinda Fernandez the blade is probably the blade used in the cricut cake machine. She was smart enough to figure a way to use her cricut instead of buying a new machine. Although the cricut cake does have some really nice cartridges.
Ones are made to be used for that called cricut cake and it's food safe with all the stuff that comes with it. No chance of someone sueing for some kind of poisoning. Great video how to make mat.
Hello I want your channel seems spectacular and with your videos I have learned a lot, but I want to level up and I want to buy the Cricut to only use it in pastry decoration and fondant cutting, which one do you recommend and where can I buy it. Thank you, greetings from the Colombian coffee mountains
Same problem here with the Maker. She needs to amend her videos and tell everyone that it will not work with the Maker. The maker cannot use a mat smaller than 12x12.
I NEVER comment on RUclips, but omg...when I say this is life changing 😂 Thank you SO much! This worked perfectly using the deep cut blade. I’m so happy to have found this video. Thank you again!!!
Yay! Glad it worked for you. Should you have created something, please share with me. I enjoy seeing Fan projects :) hashtag: #bakjngsavvy

Love love love!!❤❤
I watched this video about 5 times. Very nifty and the name came out great! I would’ve added a bit of tylose powder to the fondant so it dries/stiffens before cutting it. Well done and thanks for sharing. ❤
I am mind-blown right now. Cricut take my money now!

you can use the cricut to do it
Please make more videos like these and thank you for sharing ❤
I’m so glad I found this video!! I looked a few years ago when I was going to make my kids birthday cake and no one had a video thank you!
I am still in shock, I have a cricut maker and also bake cakes, so this will take it to whole new level, thank you, thank you
You are very welcome
Yes! I suck at writing on cookies! This will help a lot!
@@BakingSavvy you are using the cake cricut tho? Right? I've never seem one like yours.
@@marikiemarie7622 no, this is the Cricut Explorer Air 2
@@BakingSavvy is this machine only for edible image ….. I’m trying to figure out if I to buy 2 separate machine for edible and non edible?
Wow! Best tutorial ever! Thanks for sharing these ideas. I can’t wait to try it the next time I decorate a cake!!!
Great! Let me know how you enjoyed using this technique.
This is awesome, I am new to cricut world and I am trying to learn heaps of different stuff before start using it.
I wonder if it would cut well with sugar paper/icing sheet
Can I cut wafer paper on the machine too? What would the settings be?
This is so amazing thus video should have millions of view thank u so much I bake cake and I wanted to invest on the cricut make 3 but this just confirms that I will be purchasing mines soon.thank u thank u.
Any tips for alternative mats?
You just made my day, week, and year! Thank you so much! You're awesome!
Thank you so much for your help, I have tried it and it is going to help me a lot with time in making my cake decorations
I was wondering if this was possible. I have been doing things the hard way. Thanks so much for sharing this method. I have a Cricut Create, so it only has a 6x12 mat, but I am thinking with some adjustments, it should work for mine as well.
Great video! Was wondering what blade can be used on the Cricut Maker to cut the fondant! Thanks!
Best use deep point blade in original black housing. It has more clearence than fine point blade housing.
Thank you for the wonderful tutorial. We have tried making our own mat as you have suggested in the tutorial and followed it exactly, making it slightly shorter. Amazing use case!
This is so good
Can I use the knife blade for this,?
This is awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!
Would this work with hardened royal icing or frozen buttercream frosting?
My heart is pumping so hard!! I'm very new to Cricut but this is amazing, I hope I can make something cute. Thank you so much
What type of cricut machine you have this is a game changer thank you
Thank you for this! I have the old explorer where the settings are pretty much relying on the dial. If I cannot customize my setting like you did, what would be the closest setting I can set the dial to? Cardboard, thick paper, etc…?
Move your dial to custom and you will be able to select materials in the Design Space. As far as I'm aware, it applies to all machines with dial.
Just the tutorial I've been looking for. Great job!!
You are welcome. I would love to see the pieces you create with this hack :)
WOW, you are a genius! This was absolutely amazing.
Can you use other types of blades?
Love this!! Can't wait to do this with my Cricut!
Awesome tutorial! Thank you!!!
Hello where can I purchase the cricuit cake blade??????
Hi Lore, the Cricut Cake blade itself is discontinued. You can however find some from sellers on EBay if you are lucky. If you cannot find one, then you can use the Deep Blade from Cricut and it works just as well.
Amazing!!! I'm excited to try this!

Thank You...great demonstration...
Do you need to clean the blade ?
Good idea, same concept for silhouette
Which cricut machine you use? Cricut maker or cricut maker 3 ? Thanks 😊
Planning to buy one please help which one is better.
Hi, here I used a Explorer Air 2.
I love your Matt I dea i def have to try it but I did purchased the correct Matt from icing images ETSY page but why do I move those rollers and then do I put them back to where they were, Im scared to move them
You have to move the rollers because when the mat goes through the machine, the rollers roll right over the fondant if you don’t move them.
@@BakingSavvy ok that makes sense now I get it. thanks
Very cool! I never knew I could use my cricut for this. I'll definitely be trying this out. Tfs!
Great video! I have a Cricut Cake I have never used!
That machine is actually food safe so that’s awesome if it still works
Happy for your video! What kind of machine do tou use please?
This is just wonderful thank you 😮
Thank you for this video! Can i use the cricut machine for edible and non edible projects at the same time just by changing the mat and blade?
Good question
I have the Same question.
I don’t see why you can’t. It’s literally just cutting it. It’s not like using your printer with regular ink and then changing the cartridges to edible ink cuz there would still be traces of the old ink in there. This is just a cutter and you’re using a fresh blade and mat
This is amazing!!! Thank you so much for this video!
What typeface did you use please! Thank you
Wouldn't be easier to get a new mat and just cover it with the tape or just permanently bond the protector to it?
Is that anny model of Cricut machine can be used on fondant ?
🤯🤯🤯 I was wondering if I can do this, now I know 😁🤗 Thank you
Which cricut model is this? I have the first cricut air. Will my machine do this?
Any update?
What is the sheet of plastic called the food safe matt please?
Great video. Suggestion -- the Cricut can print. Instead of drawing the lines and numbers yourself, you can have the Cricut do it for you.
Oh yeah just put the sharpie in and let it draw itself!
Thanks for that. I might just do another video with this suggestion. Time to get creative!
Can this work with a cricut air?
Amazing tutorial!!! Such a cool idea and the video itself is so detailed, Thank you thank you!!
Sassy Cake Decorating you’re very welcome.
Can you use the cricut joy for fondant?
Have you found the answer to your question. I want to know also.
What blade are you using it appears to be longer than the deep cut blade or the regular blade
Hey! is there any other equivalent machine that is more budget friendly? . thank you
Incredibly grateful to you for sharing your hard work. This is brilliant! 💖💖 Your steps are so easy to follow and my first time to use your techniques came out beautifully! Thank you!
4:33 does this include the cricut explorer 3 to cut fondant
Can you tell me where to purchase the cake blade? I’m super new and I have no clue
Which Circuit was this... and can I make Cake Toppers with this circuit.
So I can use a regular cricket for fondant?!
It explicitly says though that regular Cricut machines are not food safe. There are Cricut cake machines that are. I’m just wondering, does anyone know why regular machines aren’t food safe? Is it just the mat, or the cutting tools/housing/etc?

How did you make the name plate? Looks like you used a photo of the name

It is not food safe, you can use it for personal use at your own risk but you cannot use it for making goods for sale.
Which Cricut machine are you using? Can this be done with a Cricut Explore?
Thank you,so very much!
AMAZING tutorial!🙏🙏💞💞
Which blade do you use?
Where can you get this blade
Where do you buy your fondant?
Thank you ! Do you recommend the circut air 2 or the maker for this ?
Reading through the comments because I have the same question you have but no answer 😞
Where did you purchase the Cricut fondant blade from? I can’t seem to find one.
Did you ever found the blade, if so, could you help me find it? TIA
Belinda Fernandez the blade is probably the blade used in the cricut cake machine. She was smart enough to figure a way to use her cricut instead of buying a new machine. Although the cricut cake does have some really nice cartridges.
Can I buy any cricut machine to do editable images and non edible images? Or it has to be a edible printer/cutter?
Ppleae can you pls list the name and size of the blade you use. Thanks.
Great, thank you for the video
You are very welcome :)
Can a "Cricut Cake" be used to cut like a regular cricut machine as well?
Wow awesome video thank you for the tips
Can you do the same with a picture
do you think i would be able to do this with polymer clay?
It’s not working for me with the deep cut blade. Is my fondant too soft? Should I add something to it?
Tysm for this video!
Beautiful!!!! thank you very much...subscribed!!!please what Crichton machine do you recommend?
Is there a specific cricut I should buy? What model are you using for this video?
Circuit Cut 2 ❤
Do you use the same cricut machine for cardstock toppers or do you have a seperate machine for it? thank yoh
I use a separate machine for crafts. You never want to mix your machines to use both food items and non-food items.
Please what is the modle of tour cricut
I’ve been wanting to get one of the cricuts which one is best to use with fondant?
Baking with TiCa I use the Cricut Explorer Air 2 for this tutorial
@@BakingSavvy dou need to have a subscription for the 10 dollars a month???

No chance of someone sueing for some kind of poisoning.

Can you cut logos ? Like detailed shields ? With fondant

she said dollar tree and someone mentioned icing images also for $12
