To cut the butterfly out of the square you can make the square the size you want, then duplicate it about 6-8 times layer them on top of one another, then put the butterfly in the middle. You don't have to adjust or reload the mat because it all cuts at the same time. Even on the vinyl setting for the butterfly the square will be cut out the same way because it cuts the same square multiple times.
That is such a GREAT idea!! Thank you!
That’s what I do also I duplicate it 3 times usually does the trick. I do this when I’m making stickers with a backing sheet a lot easier!
@Stacy Capps I'm a newbie too, but as I understand, if you layer a few times, it will cut over and over in same place and it will end up cutting the vinyl and the back paper too... so it does the same trick as if you're setting it to cut as a cardboard without having to reload the mat
Please anyone correct me in case I'm wrong

Kķķmmmmm....
That painter's tape weeding tip is fire!! Thank you!
Hi! Love your video! Just a little tip for your Tip # 12. Instead of having to load the vinyl in twice and making sure it’s in the right spot. In design space, Make the rectangle and the butterfly same Color. Then duplicate only the rectangle 3 or 4 times and attach the rectangles together. Then place the butterfly on top and attach everything together again. When you go to make it. The Cricut will cut the rectangle over 3 or 4 times and the butterfly only once. Making it a deep cut and a kiss cut all in one!
Good to know!!
Rolled flowers:
Get "hair pins" which are just like bobby pins, except both ends are straight. The flowers won't wobble nearly as much when rolling them because a hair pin is closer to the actual cricut tool used for this task.
To make wrapping the paper flowers even faster, make a cardstock circle about 2 inches in diameter first. Stick the bobby pin through the center of the cardstock circle, then insert the bobby pin into the drill. Use the cardstock circle as a kind of backstop or guide to keep the paper flower strip even as it wraps around the bobby pin.
For the scrap storage, 3 hole punch the zip envelopes and put in a binder.
I would love to see another one. They are definitely so useful for us newbies.
For the stencil there is a product card makers use called Pixie Spray. It’s a light tack spray that will hold your stencil in place 😊
@Julie Elliott can you use Pixie with cardstock or is it too tacky? And where do you get it from? TIA!
I love using freezer paper for templates because the shiny back can be temporarily ironed to project.. I use it quite a bit to make templates for quilting applique patterns etc.
❤
I am blown away. Definitely want you to do another!!! I've had Cricuts since the first one "Personal"...continued to upgrade and just started using the Maker about a year ago. Your videos prove you never stop learning - out of part 1 and 2 (36 hacks) I only knew about 6 of them. Look forward to seeing more of your videos! Kudos for giving credit where credit is due.
For the square around the butterfly, just duplicate it several times and the Cricut will go over the same cut several times and then you can leave it all the same color and don’t have to worry about lining it up
GREAT idea!!!
Love this hack on the hack, so clever! Thanks!
Weeding with painter’s tape! Wow. Cool.
Videos are way more than helpful. They’re wonderful specially when you’re just a beginner.
You could spray pixie spray to the back of the stencil once you place the transfer tape on, it should stick enough to not move once placed on the item you are stenciling onto. :)
That's a GREAT idea!! Thanks! :)
I was going to recommend regular spray adhesive. wait 30 seconds after you spray it and it is about as tacky as a post it note.
Rather than using plastic for something that isn’t solid shape, use contact paper. I know it won’t be reusable, but it’s a cheap and easy alternative and doesn’t involve using Mod Podge or a spray adhesive on the project n
Or oracal 631 vinyl, it's removable adhesive
I have a scrapbook I use to store my scraps and my regular sheets of vinyl. It already came with sleeves and it's a 12x12. Its perfect.
I love the scrapbook idea!! That's so perfect for 12x12 vinyl or cardstock!
Thank you so much and thank you for responding! I just wanted you to know I love your page. Its so helpful. I just got my first cricut the beginning of December and your page has helped me so much with learning how to navigate it. I have friends who have had theirs for years and I'm teaching them things they didnt even know thanks to you 😆
Shy! What a great idea! Thanks!
Loved this second video as well! Favs...thought you might be able to combine 2, namely #8 and 9 I think. Love the idea of the squares to use for future reference, but what about making them from the file folders you used for the reusable stencils. Think this would make them more durable. Love all of the ideas though!
Sizing squares:
I use book rings are a great way to keep items like this together. They're not expensive, come in LOTS of sizes, the metal is smooth so it's less likely to rip through the cardstock, but also easy to open when you need/want to replace one of the squares.
I made my cardstock sizers!! Such a handy tool to have! I made them all different colors, too. Thank you so much for this tip (and the TikTok user who originally posted it)!
Love them too!
I LOVED THIS VIDEO!! I am still learning my cricutS, yes more than one, long story. But I love making things and wished I had bought a cricut sooner. Like ten years ago!! Those hacks, esp #4, made my day!! And the pens, genius! I know they’re hacks from other ppl but the compilation here was convenient! Thanks again
That reuseable stencil idea? Last week I did EXACTLY that for a model project where I needed various geometric shapes to be randomly repeated again and again across the surface of the model, it works great! The thin plastic sticky mat covers worked perfectly for this, save them.
OMG I've gotten SOOOOOO frustrated trying to use images from google and they're too fuzzy to use. That cleanup tip is AMAZING!
I have had my cricut air2 for a week. I find these hacks informative, please continue with them.
Thank you so much sometimes I get frustrated trying to do things on my cricut, now I may use it more
Depending on how thick your quilling tool is, you can just put that in the drill and roll your flowers that way instead of with the bobby pin. Lots of great tips! Thanks!
Oh, great idea!! 💕 Thanks!
Very helpful and well presented, thank you from England x
Great video. The sizing back was helpful.
Wow this was awesome. Thank you
Hello I really enjoyed your tutorial. My daughter purchased me a Crichton Explore for Christmas. It’s finally out of the box. Don’t have a clue as if yet. But your tutorial was a blast. I will get busy now. Thanks.
These hacks are fantastic, I especially like the one where you cleaned up the star and rainbow, I’ve spent hours cleaning up designs, never again, thank you so much for sharing these, please do more of them, you’ve already made my life easier.
I have no clue what cricutting is, but I guess I'll watch a 23 minute video on it because it looks crafty.
😂😂😂
I died 😂💀
Me too! 😂
Allison...you win the internet today!!
Allison, THAT is funny!! So how are you doing after watching “cricutting” videos? 🤣🤣🤣🤪🤪
OH MY GOSHSHSHSH!! i'm not the only one who forgets to turn Mirror On when i do iron on? HAHA i swear i thought i was the only one who always makes this mistake even though i do iron on a lot lol i feel better now
The wheels one is a game changer! I hate pulling the machine out and then the cords pull out sometimes ughhh! Thank you!
YES! Me too! lol I'm loving having the wheels on the machine!
You just have to remove the rubber "legs" from the bottom of the machine and you can move it easily. It won't get stuck.
Make a "weeding bin" using an empty Wet Ones brand wipe container and doggy poo bags. The lid of the container is factory made with cross hair cuts that are perfect for weeding. When the wipes are gone, pour out any remaining liquid, then wash with regular dish soap. The doggy poo bags fit inside like a super miniature trash bag and the lid snaps in place over it. When it gets full you remove the lid, tie the bag, toss it into the trash and put a new bag in.
I love the hack for not cutting vinyl with scissors!! Gamechanger. I just started selling decals...and will save me so much time and make it.a nicer even cut!
My favorite was the one where you cleaned up that image from google soooo well! Wow!! I know I'll be giving that one a try! Thx for sharing. 😁
Would love to see another one. These are great hacks! Thanks for sharing this video!
I just bought my Cricut Maker and they hacks are a huge time saver for me. Plus, I am learning new hacks about my cricut I never knew. Thank you....and I would love more tutorials.
These hacks are wonderful! I did one for myself as a photographer. I measured my speedlights' flash head and cut from the 12x12 color gels to fit my speedlights; I now have them in all colors from the pack! I love Cricut although it took me about a month just to open the box, lol
LOVE these ideas. Keep them coming. I'm such a newbie and it seems a tad over whelming.
I love these ideas. They’re so helpful. Thanks for sharing.
When doing the squares, add a circle to the corner so the cricut cuts the holes for you. Also use a metal shower curtain hook that close ❤
You can use the arrows on keyboard to move the script fonts together. First ungroup, then click on each individual letter and use arrows to move letters over. That way the letters stay aligned.
Thank you so much for doing this! A great learning tool! Please continue to do these cricut hack tutorials. I greatly appreciate it!
When making a reusable stencil, you need to put in bridges to connect those inner pieces. You can fill those spaces in with paint after you remove the stencil.
Love these hacks! Yes, I'd love to see another one in the future as well.
Thank you! You saved me from the headache for the upload. I was trying to clean an image and it was so bad.
Oh, I forgot, adding wheels is genius ❣️❣️
Thanks for all the tips!!
Thank you so much for this video! You definitely know your stuff! I'm a beginner, and need all the help I can get; please make another!
The yellow masking tape works good too. I use the two inch.. and you can reuse it
Awesome!! Thanks! :)
You are a great teacher, easy to follow and you have great techniques on presenting information. I am subscribing. :)
Some great tips! I am saving this one!
If you take your quilling tool and put it in your drill it works better than the bobby pin. Also there is a spray quilters use to tack fabric down you could probably spray that on the folders to give it a light tack to hold it to the wood. I love the idea of the painters tape to weed out the small pieces on the vinyl. Thanks for sharing.
I can't wait to try the painter's tape hack for the tiny pieces in the stencils I make. I do acid etch on vases, and other glassware. Thank you.
There are so many great ideas in this video! I really appreciate the one for cleaning up images to upload and the last one of using the clear vinyl zip bags for scrap cardstock/vinyl. I have been using a manila envelope. Thanks for the hack connections!
I am definitely adding wheels to my Maker - this will make it so much more accessible!
I'm loving having the wheels on it!! :)
For the drill quilling. Take a wooden dowel, cut a slit in it, and right below wrap electrical tape around a bunch of times. Will fit better than the bobby pin, and the tape will help guide the flower
Listen....I did the coaster wheels under my 2 cricut machines and it has literally changed my life!!! THANK YOU!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us! Yes please keep the videos coming. I just got a critcut
Or, perhaps I do a word stencil then do the next word stencil till I finish my stencil? Thank you so much for being so clear and a great teacher!
The stencil out of dividers could be a good one ✔️
The flower roller!!! 🤯
Great job!! Keep them coming! you are so easy to follow and understand 😊
For the square butterfly trick, move the square to 1x1 and the butterfly just under that. A lot easier then eyeballing
yes! please continue sharing hacks for us newbies! so very helpful!!
Another way to keep the scraps for vinyl when weeding is to use toddler snack containers. I haven't seen anyone use those and they are even easier to clean out
Great tips! The one where you cleaned up the lines from the internet image is a game changer! Will definitely be trying that one! I look forward to your next video! 💚
Thank you!! I agree, totally a game changer! :)
Im getting a cricut for my birthday!! You give me so much inspo x
Absolutely loved this, you are great at explaining!
Thank you!! 🥰
Fantastic hacks for a complete Cricut Newby. Much appreciated.
Thanks so much!!! I'm new to Cricut so I'll take all the help I can get!!!
I bought pen adapters from Springbok Crafts on Etsy. Great source for Canadians. I recommend putting ther pen in the adapter before putting in the machine so if you need to push, you're not pushing on the blade housing unit
Thank you soooo much for sharing these. Please share more!!
Happy New Year! Yes please share more these are so helpful! Thank you for sharing...
YES YES YES!!!!! You are absolutely amazing!!!!
This was wonderful. Would love to see another. Aleene’s tac it over and over or zig glue would be good on stencils.
Awesome!! Thank you! 😀
Thank you!! When you showed all of these hacks I was amazed but the “sizing” hack was the one where I was like 😳😃 I didn’t understand and then you gave the example and now I’m so excited I just ordered my cricut yesterday so this will be one of the first hacks I put together
These are great! I've used my cutting machine for over 5 years, and I still learned lots of new techniques with this video. Thank you!
I just got a Cricut Joy yesterday. Love all these hacks!!
Instead of wheels to move the machine, another option could be felt pads, the type used to protect wooden floors from getting scratched by furniture.
You are amazing! These ideas are SUPER! Thanks a BIG bunch! Please make more videos. ❤️
The wheels on the machine gave me so much anxiety 🤣 All I envision is my machine rolling off of something & my world ending
Haha same here
Just put those small round furniture saver pads on the bottom. They work great.
Maybe another wheel type have the wheel locks? That would be nice.
I dont understand why you csnt just pick it up and move it.. seems lazy. They dont weigh that much.
@@TheMadJester159 because the Cricut Maker is really heavy and to move it back and forth on the tabletop could eventually hurt your back.
@5:30, I also bought the pen adapters on Amazon and while cheap and mostly effective.. some take a little work to figure out as the card doesn't always reflect accurately as to which adapter works for what pen. And to beat all... A rubber band or 2 would do the trick, really. It's just about getting a snug fit at the right height.
Wow thank you sooo much. I am going to suggest this to everyone I know that uses a Cricut!! This was a great video!! Thank you.
Great info Kayla... Thank you so much for sharing!
Once again, another easy to understand video. I love that you always show better and best ways to do things. Thank you so much for sharing all of your tips and tricks.
love these videos
My jaw was on the floor during this whole video!! My cricut is on the way and I'm so excited!!!!
P
Love these tips!! Thank you for putting this video together and sharing!!
These are great. I use an accordian file for my scraps. The envelopes may hold more. You could probably punch a hole in them and use a binder ring to hold them all together.
Love, Love, Love all your videos! I was stuck, not using my cricut but... I found you! Thanks!
Hey what would you guys recommend? Getting the Cricut mini press to start out with or just use a normal house iron? Bc I heard they’re the same
When making reusable stencils spray the back side lightly with adhesive spray and let it dry. It will remain tacky and removable for reuse. Store on parchment paper.
Thank you Kayla for sharing. Love your YT's. Big hugs x
This was an amazing video!! Thank you so much!!
Wow! Subscribed and thumbs up. You were right to the point and so much helpful information. Thanks so much. 👍😊💕
Very helpful tips. Thanks. I’m just learning how to use my cricut. I appreciate any help.
Loved it. Another please
Yessss...PLEASE!!! I love these hack videos. Please do more 😬👍🏽.
Thanks for the tips, appreciate it alot. Millie
Love your videos Kayla. Thanks for all the information. The hacks are great.
I’m so scared of my Cricut but I’m determined this is the year to use it. I know these hacks will be useful so I’ll be watching them a lot and may a little more help. Thanks for sharing. I do need the heads on storage. I’ve been buying supplies for 2 years and this is the year to use them. This was terrific video.
