I always use the DT pink weeding tools! I love them. I also have used the gold and silver leaf. I have not seen the red ball to put the vinyl scraps in nor the silicone mat. Will be keeping on eye out for them. Thanks Kayla!
The vinyl catcher is actually in the accessory area for fingernails in my dollar tree. The mat is hard to find if you don't know they hang it near the dollar tree craft vinyls. Ours was sold out, but I'm checking occasionally.
I didn't have much luck with DT needle tool for weeding, the metal tip bent the first time I used it. But the wide triangle end (opposite the needle end) has been invaluable for holding the vinyl in place without leaving a mark (I use metallics often) while I'm lifting the vinyl around it. I also really like the self healing mat (not a new product) for working on smaller projects.
What a fantastic thorough video! I’ve tried most of these things, and it’s reassuring that we have the same experience with them. Some items like the cards and inserts, I didn’t fully realize how to use, so thanks!
The mini iron I am thinking even if it dosen't really work for Iron on Vinyl it might work for the Perlet beads. I have one of the little gluegun pads I actually purchased for when I do decoupage and use glue in my projects to keep my work surface clean and for easy clean up if I I do get modpodge or glue on it. I just recently got my first DollarTree Plus that I know of in my area I am excited to start getting some of the crafting items from the plus section.
Great video Kayla! I don't always find every Dollar Tree tool I see on You Tube but it's good to know that when I do see them I will know what works and what doesn't. Thanks!
@@KaylasCricutCreations This was absolutely fabulous! Can you tell me what font you used for your letters and what size they were? I always have an issue with my letters either cutting thru like on HTV vinyl, or too little to weed and I mess up on them when I weed by them coming off with the vinyl. Thank you for your videos I’m new to the whole Cricut family and gosh thers so much to learn. I’ve made quite a few things it’s just the lettering that I have such a hard time with.
Great video, thanks! I sell cards in my Etsy shop and the double sided tape and foam tapes are the only ones I use. Occasionally I use glue sticks but personally I don’t like glue for my cards. The 12x12 glitter card stock is fantastic. The only tool I didn’t like was the DT weeding tool, not the pink picks but the Cricut white knock off one. I found the tip wasn’t fine enough. The pink set work great. I’m in Canada, haven’t seen the round vinyl scrap tool yet, will watch for that. We also don’t have the plus priced items yet.
City have scoring tool, use it with scoring board, silicone sheet is great. Cardstock pack, have several. Great to use with dies. Weeding collector, I bought something similar,it holds nail polish. Works great. Will check this out. Piercing tool set, use sometimes instead of pin pen, other I crease with it. There's alot of things from dollar store it great. Our store doesn't gliding flakes yet. Will try when and if get. Thanks for sharing.
Kayla, another great video. I live in Scotland 🏴 UK 🇬🇧 so we don’t have $Tree stores, but I believe our Poundland and other £ stores are 🇬🇧 equivalent so will definitely have a look and see what I can find. If you need a pin pen, if you get a mechanical pencil, replace the lead with a sharp needle, it works really well. If you can’t get a vinyl catcher, I’ve used an empty chewing gum container with the lid, scored a notch on the neck so I can get vinyl off easily, and it’s easy to clean up afterwards ❤❤
Great video! I use a lo of The Dollar Tree crafting item, but my cricut is an older version! Bummer on the little iron, but sometimes it pays to buy the product that cost more.
Kayla, are the pen adapters just for the Joy, or do the work with the Cricut maker as well. Thanks for suck an in-depth video on these items. Great job!
I'm in Canada. Dollar Tree is relatively new here. Not sure about the selection in their arts and crafts section, but I will check it out in the future.
Thanks for sharing. I definitely agree with u on the D.T iron. I tried many ways but it doesn't get hot enough!!! I have almost every piece u tried. Take care
Yes!! Such a bummer! I think the Cricut ones get up to 400 degrees. They have a lot of great crafting products. I'll be curious what they will come out with next! :)
@@KaylasCricutCreations Yes, D.T always amazes me on things they come out with. I was shocked to see wood burning tool and all the resin items. Take care and have a wonderful day
Love this video. I only use the pink weeding tool. I have several others but this is the best. Have you tried the sticky mats for the Joys? They work really well. Thank you
I drove to one of the Crafter's Square Dollar Trees that is in the metropolitan area I live in. They have very few items for Cricut other than the vinyl.
Such a bummer!! Some Dollar Trees just don’t carry as much 😔 we have two around where I live. One is awful and the other ones has so much. It’s so weird!
This was absolutely fabulous! Can you tell me what font you used for your letters and what size they were? They have the thin foam tape in the stationary aisle. I use that so much more often than the thick foam tape in the crafty aisle. I get what I can find. Sometimes it’s on a roll and sometimes it’s squares.
I was thinking that when I made this video. I really feel like I’ll use the thin foam tape the majority of the time. I wish dollar tree just had a larger pack of the thin ones!
Can you do a few ideas for graduation caps!? My daughter is in Pre-K & they're having a cute little ceremony for the kids. I need some ideas lol! I have 2 cricut machines.
Omg that would be adorable to personalize her cap! My daughter just graduated from Pre-K also!! 🥹 they seemed to be done a little early. I found some SVG’s that could be cute www.creativefabrica.com/search/?query=pre-k%2520svg&page=2ref/1482174/
Hey Kayla I was wondering what font you used in the end? And what tips do you have for letters and what fonts would be good for like small lettering on Design Space? I always have an issue with them cutting them and it goes to pieces or I try to cut them and they won’t even cut on htv vinyl. Can guy help please?
used the pink ball stylus manually and after a few times the white plastic broke around the metal balls. Not good. Will see if I can rescue the balls and put in a wooden dowel stick
Couple things 10 minutes in, Hobby Lobby much cheaper individual sheet paper, the dollar tree rotary cutter won't work with acrylic ruler the center plastic isn't high enough the blade has teeth like in the center will chew up another handles. I'm curious what the actual temp of the iron is? Can you check it with a digital thermometer? Maybe get a second iron see if they're consistent Temps?
Ohhh I'll have to check out Hobby Lobby's cardstock! That stinks..I completely forget to test it out with an acrylic ruler. That is good to know though! I actually just purchased an iron to test it out with HTV for a video. I haven't tried it yet but it says the hottest setting gets up to 248-455 degrees. I am curious how hot the Dollar Tree iron was. The hottest it says it gets to is 250 but it didn't even seem like it was that hot.
@KaylasCricutCreations comments seem to be turned off for main comments so I'm piggybacking off this one. Thx for the info about the weeder and the 12x12 cardstocks. I'll pick those up too. Especially the glitter. Were these all solid core as you did not comment about that in your video??
I wonder what determines which Dollar Tree locations get Crafter’s Square stuff because none of the ones around me have any measurable quantity of the stuff 🤬
I have no clue! It’s so frustrating too. I have two dollar trees close to me and one is awful and the other carry’s so much stuff it’s crazy the difference!
I use lots of DT supplies, & am glad they always come out w/more Cricut-like items!

Love your reviews! Ive been using the dollar tree rotery cutter for well over a yr now and it still cuts great!
Thanks so much for comparing the DT dupes. I have used the double sided tape for albums and it holds well. Also the DT Joy mat works really well

Great to know about how these worked or didn't work. Thank you! The Graduate gifts were really cool!
Great video! Thanks for the reviews.
I use it on my fat quarters for the covers of my journals. I just added water and some pressure to iron out the folds.

Going to dollar tree today. Hope they have some of the items you shared, especially the pin weeder
I hope you can find some things! The pin weeded is awesome!
Use cornstarch on a paint brush dust the edges of the foam tape glitter doesn't stick to edges.
So smart!!! 💡I'll have to give that a try. Thank you!
Great tip ty❤
You are SO remarkably creative!!

Off topic question...😂 What is the font used for the "Hello", in the last part of the video? Thx!

Most of the crafters stuff is great. Htv to the squeegies. The mini iron not great it doesn't heat to par its why it's at dollar tree.
