I work at Dollar tree currently and bought multiple of all the vinyls and the scrapers. I cut mine on light vinyl setting. Applied it to my water bottle. Works great.
I use my blue mat and washi tape with less pressure and it works like a charm! I have made a few small and intricate designs with it, but I did have to fiddle with different settings and weeding methods to make it work!
My husband bought me 20 rolls from dollar tree when he came across it. He called me on the phone and I tried to discourage him but he got it anyway. Then he went back the next day and they were sold out! So happy he got it for me!

I saw this at DT and it said paper vinyl. That confused me a bit so I passed. I’m very new to vinyl cutting so I hated to waste money on something that I wasn’t sure about. Now I wish I would have gotten it. It was red Buffalo plaid. Thanks for the info.

Dollar Tree also carries one of my favorite weeding tools... It's almost like a Pin Pen. It has a pink handle that is amazing to help with holding down pieces as you weed. Two for $1.
Thank you soooo much for such a detailed review. I have a cricut joyand didn't know how to adjust the pressure. I had checked out a few other tutorials over the past month and tours was the only one to show how to adjust the pressure. Thank you soooooooo much!

Ive tried a few of them so far. The standards have worked just as well as other brands of vinyl but there is paper backing to he aware of. I just scrape the paper off the mat after weeding, since its not quite as thick as cricut vinyl. The DT glitters (rose gold and silver) are STUNNING under lighting, but a little hard to use. I would recommend a light pressure for them Love the DT extras though (scrapers, pink weeding pen, spatulas, etc.).
I personally use the Dollar Tree contact paper as a transfer paper and love it! It's not too sticky, you get a lot more than you would if you were to buy the transfer rolls, and it has a grid on the back for easy measuring. Hope this helps.😊
Cricut transfer tape you also have to put on your shirt or something before you use it . More often than not. I always use the clear shelf paper from $ Tree, it works great and not too sticky
@@KaylasCricutCreations I actually reuse the Cricut transfer tape several times. I saw another RUclipsr do this and she said it’s fine. I’ve used the same one 3 times already and it is still going on strong. So I guess sticky is better.

You can also go to the Dollar Tree website and order it there. You have to get it in larger quantities, but most of them are 36 rolls of assorted colors.

My husband and I picked up 7 or 8 of the cutting mats for various projects and they work great when I travel with my Joy and my husband and kids use them for various other projects where a huge cutting mat is just too cumbersome.

Hi Kayla! I’m new to cricut crafting and I was excited to get started, but realistic about cost. I did get a dollar tree haul to practice my first cuts. I agree that it is not good on intricate cuts. I also tried the removable vinyl. I thought it was great with the large sample cuts like the trial lips when you first test your cricut.
The DT vinyl is a game changer. Hopefully it will put pressure on other suppliers to be more competitive. I definitely will default to it for 'short term' projects such as holiday decor.

I got some today. I used the foil setting with less pressure and it was perfect on my explore air 2…. I didn’t actually apply it to anything yet tho. I also use their clear shelf liner for transfer tape.
How the heck do you find all these settings on the explore air 2?! Mine just mimics what I turn my knob to on my machine and there are no other buttons that I can see to change anything?! Please helppppp lol

I bought two of the vinyls but haven't tried them yet since I am in the midst of other things and haven't had time to test them yet. I haven't had any trouble cutting the vinyl with the standard vinyl setting. Cricut transfer tape would not stick to the DT glitter vinyl. Someone suggested Reynolds wrap -not saran wrap- but the one that molds easier around bowls. Works like a charm! I can use one piece multiple times. So far I love it.
I recently picked up vinyl's in a bunch of different patterns (found red/black and white/black plaid and the cheetah print). I have only used the cheetah print to make earrings (on wood tear drops) and it worked very well. It was easy to cut and stayed put. Back in the spring I found the tools, I like the scraper. I compared the weeding tool and the spatula and noticed that the Cricut weeding tool has a more defined point on the end and the spatula bent pretty easily, but I think they are good tools for back ups or to keep in a travel craft pouch. I'm looking forward to making some Christmas decorations with the other patterns. Also - back when I found the tools, I also picked up some transfer tape. I've used it and really liked it, but noticed that the newer packaging is different. Mine has grids on it and is a larger roll. I wonder if they changed it to a lesser quality?
I was thinking the scraper tool would hold up the best. They are great for back ups!! This transfer tape didn't have grids on it so it must be something different. I hope they still sell what you bought. That seems much better. I'll have to keep an eye out for it!
I bought 2 or 3 of each color and was really sad dissapointed when it didnt work with the regular settings and a small design...but after watching this video and the comments I'm definitely going to give another try...thanks for the video

Thank you! I found several different colors at my DT and was skeptical to try it since it got mixed reviews but I figured they’re only a dollar each lol. I didn’t know that the same brand also made the tools! I will give this a shot! I also found blue, matte black (and glitter black), white, and glitter gold. I went to 4 dollar trees today. One has nothing. One only had glitter vinyl. One had permanent vinyl. The last one has holographic and white and black check pattern, black and red check, and a leopard print. Im glad I found them, I had time today and visited the dollar stores around me all at once. I hope they work.
I didn't have to change anything, just set it to vinyl and everything came out perfect. Also not having any transfer paper, I used clear contact paper and it was perfect as well. I've never had any luck with Cricut vinyl.
Thank you so much for your honest and detailed opinion of the products. You have been so hopeful. I am not Cricut user but i have been wanting to try the craft. With how expensive it seems I would hate to slurge on the machine and never use it. I did buy 2 rolls of the vinyl from the Dillar tree to use on a tray my children I eye use to sort our Lego pieces for our builds. Grabbed the picker and scrapper as well. I didn't grab the spatula because I had no idea what it was for. Hopefully my little project that requires no special cutting goes well. If so I may add a cricut machine to my Christmas list.
Our DT has tons. I thought it was crazy, so I came to YT to see if I was the only one seeing this lol. I got 3 rolls just in case it wasn't great. Happy to come across this video.
The vynl has been out for over a year now I just haven't found it ar any of my stores. You can always go on their website and order items though. Bad part is it has to be a case of 1 item. So like unless this came in boxes of multiple colors I wouldn't want that much of 1. But think of it this way you'll get 25 for what you pay of that one $25 roll. I can't believe they even have the weeding tool at dt. BTW the healing matts are everything. Take 5 or 6 of them flip it to the back side lay down some tape and then you have a bigger work surface for half the price thats what I did. Edit: haha sorry had it playing while typing. Just now heard you say the same thing about taping them together.
I love the DT transfer tape. It is the only tape that works for me with any of my vinyl. I had trouble with other transfer tapes not releasing the vinyl. So when I find it at my dollar tree I buy all they have because I do not want to run out of it....I have DT vinyl but have not used it...But going to make my custom setting for it now....thanks for the tip

Great video. I just got the explorer air 2 yesterday.. having fun already! I do acrylic pour painting and just cut numbers out of the dollar tree vinyl for my clocks that I make. I did absolutely the basic craft' and was totally satisfied. Your video was very helpful in knowing how to adjust the settings and save them, etc. thank you.
Hey this worked great for me for my Yard Sale sign. Recipe: Big letters + Dollar Tree Vinyl on StandardGrip Mat + Washi Sheet Setting + Cricut Transfer Tape (made less sticky first by sticking it to my jeans first) = great sign! Wish I could post a pic to show you how it turned out. I wouldn't use the Dollar Tree Vinyl for anything I care about, but for a big temporary sign I'm happy with it. Thanks for your video, it definitely influenced my recipe and I appreciate your show and tell so I can learn from what you're doing.
I just bought my first cricut explorer air 2 (bundle) this blk Friday and it was a great deal… even better because I was able to use my cash back on one of my credit cards to but the whole thing. I stumbled into these I the dollar tree today and grabbed one of each. Can’t wait to watch this vid and to see how it goes

Finally found some at the local one here. They had about 40 rolls (variety) so I bought 12 rolls for the wife. Didn't buy them all, to leave some for fellow crafters. Bought one each of the tools they had and a couple mats. Vinyl is pretty decent.

I always have a hard time getting the vinyl to stay down when removing the transfer tape. But I overall love DT vinyl. I use it all the time. It's alot cheaper and leaves room for profit when selling crafts. I can also lower the prices and customers love that! Lol
I tried the DT glitter paper and struggled with the proper setting. I found the Lazar Paper setting @ 70 did a fairly good job cutting an object but not for letters. I will try your suggestion. Struggle was issuing Cricut transfer tape! Thank you for your instructions.
I bought it and used it for names on tumblers. Weeds easy but moves in the backing especially for individual letter. I used clear packing tape to keep in place once weeded and used that as my transfer tape. Placed on the tumbler and sealed with clear gloss. No issues with epoxy. Was afraid would lift but I sealed it really well and was very happy with it. I cut on removable vinyl setting and had some cut through areas but didn’t affect using it. Was very happy.
An option to use instead of transfer tape is clear contact paper. Not as sticky, but works extremely well. I would recommend using the transfer tape for the glitter vinyl as you need something a little stronger to lift it

It is a paper vinyl. I used a sticker paper setting on med to low. Comes out great everytime

I just peeled the paper back off and applied vinyl directly to mat on regular settings then put my transfer tape on after weeding and it worked great.
that will dull the stickiness of your vinyl and it may not hold onto your project properly.

Found some and it works better on glass. And the Tools are great!

I left DT vinyl on default and it didn't cut my backing. It cut perfect and weeded it with easy. I have explorer air 2. I love it.

I took the cutting mat and added some adhesive cork sheets to the bottom of it. It hasn't slipped once.

Just a thought about the transfer tape. It might work fine on the glitter vinyl which requires a stronger hold than regular vinyl.

I have only used the cheetah print to make earrings (on wood tear drops) and it worked very well. It was easy to cut and stayed put. Back in the spring I found the tools, I like the scraper. I compared the weeding tool and the spatula and noticed that the Cricut weeding tool has a more defined point on the end and the spatula bent pretty easily, but I think they are good tools for back ups or to keep in a travel craft pouch. I'm looking forward to making some Christmas decorations with the other patterns. Also - back when I found the tools, I also picked up some transfer tape. I've used it and really liked it, but noticed that the newer packaging is different. Mine has grids on it and is a larger roll. I wonder if they changed it to a lesser quality?
I was thinking the scraper tool would hold up the best. They are great for back ups!! This transfer tape didn't have grids on it so it must be something different. I hope they still sell what you bought. That seems much better. I'll have to keep an eye out for it!
You can use DT's clear shelf liner as transfer tape, it has those grids you speak of.
I wish I would have found your video to save me the frustration. I was able to figure it with a little patience and your guidance.
I bought 2 or 3 of each color and was really sad dissapointed when it didnt work with the regular settings and a small design...but after watching this video and the comments I'm definitely going to give another try...thanks for the video

Thank you! I found several different colors at my DT and was skeptical to try it since it got mixed reviews but I figured they’re only a dollar each lol. I didn’t know that the same brand also made the tools! I will give this a shot!
I also found blue, matte black (and glitter black), white, and glitter gold. I will have to search for the Buffalo plaid one! Been looking for vinyl like that
I went to 4 dollar trees today. One has nothing. One only had glitter vinyl. One had permanent vinyl. The last one has holographic and white and black check pattern, black and red check, and a leopard print. Im glad I found them, I had time today and visited the dollar stores around me all at once. I hope they work.

I didn't have to change anything, just set it to vinyl and everything came out perfect. Also not having any transfer paper, I used clear contact paper and it was perfect as well. I've never had any luck with Cricut vinyl.
On my cricut explore the dollor tree vinyl cut perfectly on the dial setting for vinyl
I used the paper+ setting on my cricut to cut dollar tree vinyl it works well with that setting
I just made a couple decals for my car and motorcycle. We'll see how well they hold up.
Thank you so much for your honest and detailed opinion of the products. You have been so hopeful. I am not Cricut user but i have been wanting to try the craft. With how expensive it seems I would hate to slurge on the machine and never use it. I did buy 2 rolls of the vinyl from the Dillar tree to use on a tray my children I eye use to sort our Lego pieces for our builds. Grabbed the picker and scrapper as well. I didn't grab the spatula because I had no idea what it was for. Hopefully my little project that requires no special cutting goes well. If so I may add a cricut machine to my Christmas list.
Our DT has tons. I thought it was crazy, so I came to YT to see if I was the only one seeing this lol. I got 3 rolls just in case it wasn't great. Happy to come across this video.

The vynl has been out for over a year now I just haven't found it ar any of my stores. You can always go on their website and order items though. Bad part is it has to be a case of 1 item. So like unless this came in boxes of multiple colors I wouldn't want that much of 1. But think of it this way you'll get 25 for what you pay of that one $25 roll. I can't believe they even have the weeding tool at dt. BTW the healing matts are everything. Take 5 or 6 of them flip it to the back side lay down some tape and then you have a bigger work surface for half the price thats what I did.
Edit: haha sorry had it playing while typing. Just now heard you say the same thing about taping them together.

I love my dollar tree vinyl I made a wall decor with mine it’s nice but you right the transfer tape was very sticky!!!
I love the DT transfer tape. It is the only tape that works for me with any of my vinyl. I had trouble with other transfer tapes not releasing the vinyl. So when I find it at my dollar tree I buy all they have because I do not want to run out of it....I have DT vinyl but have not used it...But going to make my custom setting for it now....thanks for the tip

Great video. I just got the explorer air 2 yesterday.. having fun already! I do acrylic pour painting and just cut numbers out of the dollar tree vinyl for my clocks that I make. I did absolutely the basic craft' and was totally satisfied. Your video was very helpful in knowing how to adjust the settings and save them, etc. thank you.

Hey this worked great for me for my Yard Sale sign. Recipe: Big letters + Dollar Tree Vinyl on StandardGrip Mat + Washi Sheet Setting + Cricut Transfer Tape (made less sticky first by sticking it to my jeans first) = great sign! Wish I could post a pic to show you how it turned out. I wouldn't use the Dollar Tree Vinyl for anything I care about, but for a big temporary sign I'm happy with it.

I just bought my first cricut explorer air 2 (bundle) this blk Friday and it was a great deal… even better because I was able to use my cash back on one of my credit cards to but the whole thing. I stumbled into these I the dollar tree today and grabbed one of each. Can’t wait to watch this vid and to see how it goes

I put mine on the iron on setting and it worked for me. It sticks pretty well too
Finally found some at the local one here. They had about 40 rolls (variety) so I bought 12 rolls for the wife. Didn't buy them all, to leave some for fellow crafters. Bought one each of the tools they had and a couple mats. Vinyl is pretty decent.

I always have a hard time getting the vinyl to stay down when removing the transfer tape. But I overall love DT vinyl. I use it all the time. It's alot cheaper and leaves room for profit when selling crafts. I can also lower the prices and customers love that! Lol

I tried the DT glitter paper and struggled with the proper setting. I found the Lazar Paper setting @ 70 did a fairly good job cutting an object but not for letters. I will try your suggestion. Struggle was issuing Cricut transfer tape! Thank you for your instructions.
I bought it and used it for names on tumblers. Weeds easy but moves in the backing especially for individual letter. I used clear packing tape to keep in place once weeded and used that as my transfer tape. Placed on the tumbler and sealed with clear gloss. No issues with epoxy. Was afraid would lift but I sealed it really well and was very happy with it. I cut on removable vinyl setting and had some cut through areas but didn’t affect using it. Was very happy.
Have you tried the glitter vinyl? Do you think it would work if you epoxy it or use dishwasher safe mode podge?
An option to use instead of transfer tape is clear contact paper. Not as sticky, but works extremely well. I would recommend using the transfer tape for the glitter vinyl as you need something a little stronger to lift it
