you can tell how much trial and error has went into your processes. I think your videos are always so thorough and straightforward :) your results are always amazing!
I made these and they were loved but they break easy. My mom had hers for about 6 weeks before it broke, no epoxy on that one. My husband’s broke within 4 hours, had epoxy. My brother’s, without epoxy, broke in a few days and he wanted another one to replace it. Made it with epoxy this time, but he won’t put it on his keys because he didn’t want it to break. So, not really usable. I made some for my 30 nieces and nephews and told them they break easy so choose wisely where to put it. They did love how they looked though. They thought it was super cool. So I still got cool aunt points.
Good to know, I think I’m gonna try double layering the shrink plastic with resin .Maybe even 3 layers, it’ll still be light enough for a keychain and won’t break as easily
This is the coolest video for shrink plastic and vinyl! Thank you for the exact instructions. I never would've thought of measuring and going back into your design software to know the size of the vinyl. It's absolutely brilliant!
I'm so glad you were very detailed about how to resize everything after the plastic shrunk. I kept wondering how you could possibly perfectly size the vinyl. Thankfully I have a caliper, vinyl, and resin, so I just need the plastic and Keychains ❤ thank you!!
I am new to Shrink Plastics and Cricut. I came across your channel while researching and I just wanna say you do a really good job in these videos explaining everything beginners need to know and it's really digestible and easy to understand. Thank you so much!
You can create your own material and copy those settings but change it to 4 passes. Also, after Cricut finishes, don't unload, check your project in a corner and you can cut again if you need, it will cut exactly on the same lines.
WOW! What a cute little sellable craft! I love them! I had never heard of shrink plastic before. I’m going to try this. Thanks for such a well put together video!
I have never heard of shrink plastic, and I'm not sure how your channel showed up in my thread since I wasn't even searching for this, but I'm glad it did. I went straight to Amazon. I craft, so this is perfect to add to it. Your video was on point and very detailed without being long, I appreciate that.
@@abigailrosado8166 hey I'm sorry I didn't realize you had asked a question. I went to Michael's instead and got the clear shrinky dinks kind. I haven't made it yet that's why I came back to this video to get it fresh in my head again. I'll probably do one tomorrow.
Thanks to your shrink plastic videos it got on my radar and I use it for so many things now! You’re so creative with it. I make tons of shaker bits with it. 😊 I’ve been into doing my nails for over 30 years and my craft and nail supplies are often one in the same. Another great way to bond resin to shrink plastic is UV nail basecoat!
@@AmyMade For shaker bits I stick them on a piece of wide tape to keep them still while brushing it on. I leave them on it for doming with UV resin and put the whole strip under the lamp. Some brands do smear the ink slightly so there may be some trial and error. 🙂
Wow that is so freakin cool! The only things I shrank in the oven as a kid in the 70's & 80's were crisp packets! Soooo many craft projects yet to try in one lifetime... so little time to do even a fraction of them!
That is so cool Amy! Something new and different for a change. LOL, I'm 72 years old and played with "shrinky dinks" when I was a kid. Makes me want to try this for old times sake. 😁🩵
Nice video! For the Cricut hack though, there is no need for that, you have 2 options: 1) go to edit materials and either edit the material you are using or crate a new one with the same pressure setting but 4 passes OR 2) after the machine is done, don't hit the unload button, check the project in a corner to see if it cut ok, if not just click the "Go" button again and it will cut on the exact same lines.
Thank you so much, for your well thought out videos. I really hope you keep making them. They are very helpfully. I was trying to make the ruler method, and it kept curling and attaching to its self.
You read my mind I was just trying to decide how I want to do this same thing last night and I see your video today. Thank yooouuuuu Amy ❤Just finished watching wish I could go give an extra like. Thanks for the hack to double cutting passes I'm going to try it on my Silhouette. Thanks again. ❤
@@AmyMade Most definitely were I've been playing around with shrink plastic a lot the past month or so. I've watched your videos and they've been super helpful. I'm currently testing out a few other ideas to do with shrink plastic that I work out🤞🏽I'll send you pics 💗
I need that digital caliper. I tried to make keychains once without it and switched to cardstock and faux leather. When I get the caliper I will try it again
I've loved shrink n dink when l was a kids. Thanks for doing this video. Once l get a cricket machine. Pls tell me where you got the shrink paper in colors from. Thank ❤😊 Lisa
Another wonderful video!! Have you ever purchased any craft supplies from Temu?? I just placed a huge order of resin molds, metallic pigment, and shrink paper!! If you have, maybe you could make a review video!! Again, thank you so much for the helpful, inspiring videos!😊
Omg they are so cute! It really does look nicer with the colored shrink plastic, I might have to give this a try sometime but I’ve never used resin before so hopefully it works out 😅
I only had clear shrink plastic and after shrinking and putting the vinyl on the front, I painted the back of it black! When I sealed with the clear spray I gave a coat to the back too. Came out great ❤
Love this! Have you tried adding a layer of glitter resin to the piece before you add the vinyl and then adding another layer of just resin over the vinyl?
I love how your brain works. Watching you do the measurements and how you shrunk down the vinyl part of the decal was amazing. Your brain works a lot like mine. Big brain energy🎉
Questions 1. Can you bend the name . 2. Also how this is the name you put in the oven once it shrinks . 3.also the back ground in Amy did you paint the back ( black ) . 4 Did you put glitter or did you buy the paint .
1.Once the plastic shrinks it is hard not bendable. 2. The plastic is cut in the offset of the name and then the letters of the name are added after it shrinks to the piece. 3. I believe she said the black background is black shrink plastic, but you can color the clear plastic. 4. If you want to add glitter to the back, you will get the best results by adding the glitter to UV resin and putting it on the back
You can use ALL Cricut cutting machines to cut shrink plastic with this trick/hack
Truly amazing! The Mimaki UJF-6042 might be something you could use to add to your operation.

Hi! Brand new here. Can you elaborate a little bit on what you mean? How do you double layer the shrink plastic with resin?
I was watching like, okay, clear looks good. But then I saw the black and that looks like money! well done.
Making a little size guide using the shrink plastic is genius! I never would have thought of that.

Extra like for dial calipers! 👍

Questions

Wow they are so lovely. Shrink plastic is something I’ve never tried can you use it in a normal oven?
Of course! Originally, made to use with an oven
Great video, thank you!
What font did you use? Can you please share it me. Thank you!!!
It is an amazing project, If I want to use the stamp ink for coloring should I use before the oven or after?
Before!
