hi gazoo friends! for those who wonder what materials that i used in this video, i’ve put the amazon links on the description box- so make sure to check it out🥳 really hope you all enjoy the video!
Thank you for uploading the failed attempts. I’ve given up crafts for a long time because I failed every time I tried making something. I am always envy (in a positive manner) with people who have “magic hands” that can create pretty things, that’s why I often watch your videos not to learn but to see people doing the things I can’t, sooo satisfying. But the way you gave it a second chance after the first one failed make me believe that it’s not just magic hands doing the trick, you guys also have the patience and the will to experiment and learn from the process. I was way less of a “it’s easy for you bc you’re born with it” person
I also have to remind myself that we watch edited videos.... everything is meant to look seamless, flawless because it's pleasing to the eye and mind (to be clear the artists are not trying to deceive us ) but everyone fails sometimes. Don't give up after a few failures if this is something your heart wants to do. You get better with practice.
You aren’t born with talent. It’s also just like in art with drawing, you aren’t automatically able to whip up the Mona Lisa when you don’t have any experience with art at all. It takes practice to get there
The biggest thing I would say is that shrink plastic will always warp a bit, so do your best to stay away from shapes with too many sharp edges. Square or rectangular shapes show that warping a lot more than something more rounded. Also boarders are your friend. Leaving a bit of plastic around the edges of things always helps things look more finished in my experience (helps hide the warping). Try not to make pieces too thin. The borders of the claw machine were pretty thin so they didn't want to hold in the right shape. Try to color as solidly as you can when it comes to color pencil. The gaps in the color become pretty apparent once things are shrunk. Thicker materials like posca you want to be careful not to get things too thick as you can sometimes see the paint bunch up after shrinking. Those are all the tips I have I think... Overall these turned out great! don't sell yourself short! You really didn't do anything wrong with the claw machine! shrink plastic just tends to do that with square pieces. Oh! Also if you do get an oven, I would advise against doing more than one at a time anyway. Because it tends to curl up and then flatten back out, pieces will sometimes run into each other and get stuck so it's best to do things one at a time.
I actually really love the aesthetic of the colored pencil with the gaps even in the shrunk version - it‘s really cute to see those lines and the handmade look. But asides from that, thank you for your tips, I‘m sure they‘ll be helpful when I try out shrink plastic somewhen in the future 😊
OMG well noted, thankyou sooo much for the long explanation and tips!😭😭💗 i really really appreciate it, have a wonderful day since you just made mine wonderful!🥹💗💐
@@crystalraine I've never used a heat gun to shrink my plastic before, but if I had to make a guess it'd be the how even the heating is. An oven has heat sources all around the plastic, so I'd assume it would heat the plastic more evenly than a heat gun that you have to be careful to move around to heat the whole piece. That's just my guess, but I hope it helps!
I used to make a lot of shrink plastic charms and I found on larger ones if you sandwich them between 2 pieces of brown paper bags cut to size in the toaster oven while they're cooking they don't have the ability to curl in on themselves and they come out flatter. My suggestion is to sandwich the piece in between the paper bag and hold it on the edges maybe with push pins on a cork board while you heat it. It allows the piece to heat enough to shrink but doesn't allow it to "move" very much while heating. Just be sure to not over heat in any specific spot for too long of you can scorch the bag!
i swear i chose to do shrink plastic as my "passion" elective and this video comes up, like i chose to do it a day or two ago :o plus no one rly does shrink plastic anymore so its such a big coincidence :)
I love the designs with the oranges! They’re very adorable. 🧡🍊Your shaker keychains are also very creative. In my experience I have used a mini oven and it is definitely easier!
Those are adorable! When I was a kid I made shrinky dinks all the time and the shrinking part was always a pain. And that was in the oven. I never would have thought of using a heat gun. What a great idea!
i have some tips for if it turns out wavy - just apply more heat until it turns soft again, then flatten it out fast. (i used an oven though so i hope that works on a heatgun) also, if you're using colored pencil, make sure to coloring all the area fully! ( think the posca markers or colored pencils are the best for plastic keychains and if you want the back to look the same as the front (idk if you do though) make sure to add details that usually go on top first then go over them after you've colored over/around it anyway, yours turned out so amazing and i loved watching!! (the shaker idea is so cool :0) and the pudding and oranges are aaah soo cute!
I find so mush comfort watching your videos, the failed attempts were so inspiring to see. (from someone who basically gave up painting/crafts because of how long it takes)
These are so cute ❤ A big tip is shrink plastic has a direction where it shrinks a bit more than the other directions!! Most people don't seem to know this. It helps to make a square "ruler" with even spacing on the X and Y axis and watch how it shrinks. An oven would definitely help with nicer more uniform shrinking, maybe you can ask a friend if you can come over to do this? A small toaster oven will also work as long as you can change the temperature a little bit or only do smaller pieces
These are super cute and turned out great. For a first try I'm impressed! 🥰 I have no experience making these and the fact that turned out actually looking like the objects you wanted them to be is successful in my book. All you can do is keep practicing to improve your process. Do you need to be in a ventilated room when shrinking? Does the plastic cause toxic fumes?
i recently got into shrink plastic & it was staying non flat as well ! i recommend shrinking it from the glossy side, found out that it shrunk better, and flatten it out as well, i just use a circle cake pan, works well :)
The keychains turned out really cute! And I am very grateful that you uploaded the video and showed us your failed attempt of the claw machine shaker - it‘s always a learning curve with arts and crafts (not only, but especially when you try a new medium). Videos like yours are authentic and show that it needs patience and persistence to make something new. But even then, it might fail - but that gives you new insights and you learn something from it. I really enjoy this authentic mix of success and fails (and am rather discouraged if I watch too much too curated content where nothing ever goes wrong). All in all, please don‘t be so hard on yourself, because all the other keychains really turned out gorgeous! ❤
STOPPP THE PUDDINGS ARE SO CUTE!!!!! I LOVE UR ARTWORK TOO MUCH ITS EVERYTHING I INSPIRE TO BE, THANK YOU ALWAYS FOR MAKING SUCH CUTESY VIDEOS THEY ALLWAYS MAKE MY DAY 😳😳🥹🥹🥹🥹💋💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
🎉 I enjoyed this video so much. I do play with shrink plastic and I was curious how you would shrink without an oven. The big pieces need an even distribution of heat so they don’t get wavy - using the tape roll was a FABULOUS idea. Everything turned out so adorable. I never thought of creating a shaker charm that way and I am now inspired. I felt so bad for your hand though! I recommend posca pens for large surfaces so you have a smoother finish and minimal layers are key - you can also use sharpies. ❤ I look forward to what you make next!
My daughter and I enjoyed this video! We were wondering if you have tried using the oven or a toaster oven for the bigger pieces, like washer, claw machine…
I ran into the same problem making double layer shrink film charms like that. Even using the oven, each piece shrinks a little different, and I think that goes especially so for skinny edges. I haven’t figured out an answer for it yet, but I’m sure it’s just a matter of trial and error. Anyway good luck!
You did pretty good for your second try with shrink plastic: I would recommend trying to keep your pencils sharp when coloring and if coloring with pastels adding a color on the other side or theyll be too translucent Long shapes, especially square ones- id recommend moving your heat gun along the side youre shrinking so the heat is even. The warping is because of the uneven heating. Putting it along a baking tin also distributes evenly but can get very hot, so be careful. Oh a tip for to keep them from curling- i usually put the shrink plastic between two pieces of baking paper so the shiny end doesnt stick. I'd like to add the shaker is so cute even if you werent satisfied with the results If you do happen to have access to a used appliance store, would recommend getting a small oven made for toast and small foods- it is very hard to get big pieces not to warp without having even heating
these turned out so cute!! i especially like the little washing machine. i wish i had tips n tricks to share but i don't :'') always happy to see ur vids regardless of what may seem like fails--you're right it's all a learning process
I just played with shrink plastic! I think you'll find more success using an oven, even a small once like a toaster oven. That's what I used and it made shrinking a breeze.
hi! i just recently found your channel and i love all of your videos so so much! your art is super mega cute and everything you do really inspired me to also try something new! i tried to create some cute little clay magents like you did and even tho they didn't turn out super great it was a lot of fun and i'm very happy that you also sometimes leave in parts that didn't turn out the way you wanted! it sounds a little stupid but seeing someone that is so creative and awesome at what they do, still struggle sometimes and having to start over is such an inspiring thing to see, as someone who's just starting out! it makes "making mistakes" feel less dramatic! so thank you! ❤
Awe we are our own worst critics seeing you be so hard on yourself made me so sad your work is absolutely amazing you’re so talented i wish I could draw like you! ❤️
Heyy! I'm pretty new to your channel and I love your art! You're inspiring me to pick up art again!! And on that note I was wondering I'd you'll ever do drawing / art tutorials? I'd really appreciate that❤
Had no idea you could use a heat gun on shrink plastic! What a cool idea. And thank you for telling us about the mask for the resin. I’ve been wanting to try uv resin on a few things but have asthma, so this is a big plus to know this. No worries on the ones that didn’t work out the way you wanted, too many videos show the successes but not what it took to get there. This is how we learn and when we see too many that “seem easy” and come out “perfect” we think we can do it on the first try. Gotta trust the process! 🩷🩷🩷
The warped washing machines remind me of Salvador Dalí, so don't feel too bad about it! Also, are you working in a well ventilated area? I hope you're not breathing in the toxic fumes from the melting plastic, I'd wear a mask as well
I attempted to make keychains as well... the shrinking process is a hot mess with a heat gun, but I don't want to put the plastic in the oven I cook my food in 😅 And then I wasn't super thorough when I applied the resin and managed to miss spots... twice... and I just gave up on that keychain. I will attempt it again, but I had to walk away for a bit 😅😂

I hope you don’t complain you fail every time! Please think to yourself “why did it fail?” Observe the possibilities then fix the mistake and learn
You aren’t born with talent.
It’s also just like in art with drawing, you aren’t automatically able to whip up the Mona Lisa when you don’t have any experience with art at all. It takes practice to get there
Making mistakes Is a part of Life, learning from them Is also, some times when you make a mistakes It can become an opportunity for something new
Don't be so hard on yourself these are epicly adorable.
thankyou so much for the kind words!😭💗 i was planning to not upload the video because of the failed shaker keychain🥹

hi! this was really helpful, thank you! May I ask if there’s a difference between the heat gun and an oven when shrinking?
OMG well noted, thankyou sooo much for the long explanation and tips!😭😭💗 i really really appreciate it, have a wonderful day since you just made mine wonderful!🥹💗💐

Really hope that u would make more crafts in laundry theme! I think that's a very cute theme but not so many creators do it 😊😊
I think you did an amazing job!
the shaker keychain !!!!! soo cute. your creativity is astounding !

I love your work omgggg 🥹 Got inspired to do shrinks toooo
the nose sharpener lmao i love it
thank you so much for this in depth tutorial 🥰 would like to ask I there is anything we could use instead of uv resin in coating the charms? 😢
Those are so cutee❤
I have a question: how do you maintain your consistency in these hand drawn products?
So adorable ❤
i love you thanks for inspiring me again ❤❤❤
Awww, those were so cute, especially the washing machine. Hope you find some tips to make them better in the future 😄
It's so cute 😻💜🥹 you can be proud 💪🏼😎✨
The nose 👃sharpner is so cool 😅.
I freakin love your drawing style. I wish I can draw as good as you. ❤

They are so cute❤

I think you deserve have more subscibers. Cause all of your video is full of effort and i adore every single things that you make.
I wish I could draw as well as you!
can a hot blower be use for the shrinking ? or a heat guns a must have if there's no oven? :)
Hello! This is so good. Mind if i ask what did you use to heat the plastic?
Hey, I wanted to ask whether we could use a dryer instead of a heat gun ???? Also these are so cute 😭😭🫶
Heyy! I'm pretty new to your channel and I love your art! You're inspiring me to pick up art again!! And on that note I was wondering I'd you'll ever do drawing / art tutorials? I'd really appreciate that❤
Washing machine is my favorite ❤️
Hi... the keychain is so cute... love it😊
Its too cute❤❤❤
At what temperature should we set up our oven for shrinking? And for how long should we leave them in?
There so cuteeeeee . Ahhhhhhh . Love your videos ❤
I loved this
What about remaking those shaking keychains but with clay? Love all your creations ❤❤❤❤
Hello, I wan't to ask. Can we use any kind of coloured pencil or do we need a specific kind? Thank you 🙏
Can we use hair dryer ??
Hi im a huge fan im wondering what kind of clay do you use
Very beatiful
i really wish i could buy shrink plastic, i just wanna release my creativity on these so i can make and sell 😢❤❤
Those are actually easy to buy!!!
please give more shrink plastic videos
I have a question: can you use a hairdryer instead of a heat gun?
Wow they are gorgeos! I especially love the washmachine shaker keychain! Not sure what went wrong with the claw machine tho
Hi i just want to ask what kind of plastic did u use for the washing machine?
Hello! What is the ratio of shrinkage with these papers? If I baked one whole sheet, what would its shrinked size be in inches/cm? Thank u!

The warped washing machines remind me of Salvador Dalí, so don't feel too bad about it! Also, are you working in a well ventilated area? I hope you're not breathing in the toxic fumes from the melting plastic, I'd wear a mask as well
can i use hairdryer?
I attempted to make keychains as well... the shrinking process is a hot mess with a heat gun, but I don't want to put the plastic in the oven I cook my food in 😅 And then I wasn't super thorough when I applied the resin and managed to miss spots... twice... and I just gave up on that keychain. I dont have uv resin so would it work if i covered them with epoxy resin?
These turned out so great! Unforunately i never had good experience with shrink plastic :( all my printable and unprintable shrink plastic pieces keeped being stretched with weird propotion after shrinked, guess because its a random unknown brand from shopee 😢 i know there's a brand of shrink plastic which received good review on amazon but being in ASEAN doesnt help cuz its too pricey
