I had some designer fabric laying around and tried this and it came out SO BEAUTIFULLY! Sharing your video in several of my crafting groups! ALL CREDIT GOES TO YOU! Thank you for sharing!

In case no one has told you today, let me be the first to say it, YOU ARE AWESOME!! Thank you so much for sharing this! I am definitely going to give this a try
I love your use of tools, so smart. Using a brayer to apply vinyl to the cricut mat…using a rotary cutter to trim the vinyl…now i have to go to dollar tree for some faux leather. 😂 Looking forward to watching more of your videos. 👍🏼
I ❤️ this idea! I have been making faux Leather keychains but I never thought of making one with the name. Thanks for sharing this. I will definitely try this.
I literally will use dollar tree for so much stuff. I cannot believe I have not thought of this. Thank you so much like wow you’re incredible. I love it 10 out of 10 five stars 🙌
I stumbled across your channel and I was like this is a game changer, and your talent is so unique, and I definitely want to see more, and I had to become a subscriber to see what else you have up your sleeve
I agree. I listen to videos on my commute to work. I don't get to see much, but I can learn a technique or new craft and lots of tips from listening to many videos. Doesn't work if there's only music.
I just found your channel. I subscribed and hit the bell lol. I love this video. Can't wait for the next one. I'm going to try and catch up on all your videos. I really enjoyed watching this one. Happy Mothers Day.
I just realized this video is from 2 years ago, but somehow I just came across it and I really enjoyed this video, it actually showed me something new which I haven't seen a lot of lately so this is great, if you happen to see this comment I was wondering if you have ever cut the Dollar Tree faux leather they sell in the rolls with your Cricut? If so how did it work out? I only use Amazon blades as they are much better than Cricut blades, and I always leave my knob on custom so I can pick which material I'm using, but I was just curious how well the new faux leather cuts if you have done it. Thanks!
Hi! Thank you ❤️ I have tried making a faux leather key wristlet using the Dollar Tree faux leather. I actually have a video tutorial on it. Here’s the link- ruclips.net/video/clJrz6xASBs/видео.htmlsi=M38DJFiF7ZLeWtJv
Yes, those black bags are always the first to sold out. Out of the 3 stores in my area, 2 of them didn’t have black when I was looking for them. Yay! Thank you so much! ❤️🥰
Great video, thanks. None direct project related question. The roller you used and the "pizza cutter" type blade you used - can you give us a link to those or at least the name of them. Thanks, MS
Great tutorial Tyfs! And did you know that dollar tree actually sells faux leather in rolls? That was why I clicked this video bc i never worked with faux leather but also great idea to use the bag if you can’t find the roll of faux leather! I got 4 different colors white, black, brown and navy! I stumbled upon it when I was looking at the vinyl rolls and wasn’t going to pass on it I felt $1.25 was a fantastic deal!
Thank you! Yes, I do. I just find the faux leather rolls thin, and this tote bag has like a felt backing on it that makes it thicker. And yes, I used 2 bags for all these 6 keychains! You can even make more if you make the keychains smaller. 🥰❤️
@@DIYbyCes cool thanks - I will definitely be on the lookout for the bags. It was my first time seeing the faux leather rolls and it is thin but it’s worth the $1.25 (bc I have been questioning if some items are worth the $1.25?!?! 🤔)
These are awesome will have to try when I get more familiar with my cricut and DS. My question is what blades do you use to replace when they start to get dull???
This is the first video I’ve seen of yours. Love this idea and how you got right to crafting. Is that frog tape you are using to tape down the leather?
Ive looked at two different stores so far and did not find the bags. However, the Crafter's square section had a roll of faux leather that will work just as well or better.
Oh no. Sorry you couldn’t find the bags. The faux leather roll should work too, but it’s just not as thick as these tote bags are. I hope it works out for you.
Loved your design. Tried it with iron on and the Dollar Tree bag in beige. How did you keep the bag from losing its texture when you put the vinyl on? Thanks.
Love this! What blade did you use to cut your faux leather out and did you use a the explore or the maker? Also, did you have to change the pressure on the needle?
Hi, I used Explore Air 2 and fine point blade. Faux leather paper thin and more pressure for the setting. You can fast forward to 2:16 for yhe setting😊
Hi, you don’t have to purchase a special blade. Cricut actually recommends to use the fine point blade (which came with your machine) to cut faux leather
LOVE! I'm fairly new to Cricut and have only cut vinyl. My sister gave me her old supplies and now I have HTV...but I don't have the little warmer. Could I use a crafting iron or is it time to invest in the heat transfer tool?
Hi, I started out using just a regular iron. If you have a crafting iron, I don’t see why you can’t use it. The only reason I bought a mini press is because with mini press I get a more reliable heat setting, while iron’s surface doesn’t heat evenly..
I love watching your videos ❤ I was wondering where you are from the reason why I ask is because I see some of your project has Canadian money so if you are Canadian where are bouts are you. Happy crafting ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I just love your miniatures
If you don't have a stitch ripper, stick one blade of your scissors into the side seam of the bag and let the blade cut through the stitching on both sides, then you can open it up flat and cut off the handles, That will give you an inch of extra fabric to square up on the board, rather than losing another inch to square it after 👍
Hi, I’m not sure why the font was removed from Creative Fabrica. But you can also get it for free from Dafont.com (for personal use only). www.dafont.com/amarillo.font
If you want to save your mat put contact paper sticky side to faux leather then attach to mat the black will not come off on the mat. Second I used seam ripper down the seams and ended up with a lot more leather not wasted
Thanks it was not my idea I saw it on another video and used it worked great and did not leave any fibers on my mat since I was making 50 key chains for a give away project
I had some designer fabric laying around and tried this and it came out SO BEAUTIFULLY! Sharing your video in several of my crafting groups! ALL CREDIT GOES TO YOU! Thank you for sharing!
Aww!! Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️
My favorite is how you sourced your faux leather. Genius!
These are cute! I would iron heat n bond to the back of the “leather.” Fold, apply top vinyl and one press. Done!
Headliner adhesive spray would be even better and much cheaper
Dollar Tree must be watching because I went in there and now they have the leather on a roll🙌🙌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😁😁😁
See... this is why dollar tree is now $5.00 tree😅 I'm convinced the crafters did it! This is fabulous!
😁😁 Thank you so much! ❤️❤️

I love crafting with that DT bag! Bought the blush pink one to cover an old travelers notebook. It's been over a year and looks brand new!
I love the quality of their faux leather tote bags! ❤️

Using that faux letter bag from Five Quarters is GENIUS! I"m gonna have go get these supplies right quick!
I love that, Five Quarters! 😁 Yes, you can make great things for $1.25❤️
Thanks for sharing. Clear instructions, straight to the point and easy to do. 😊
Thank you so much Chantel ❤️
Great idea. If you want to experiment try using edge coat to the edges to seal them so it won’t lift. You can even do a tutorial on it!
Thank you! I will definitely try that in the future 😊❤️
Love, love, love to see your creativity sourcing material and explaining and simplifying processes
Thank you so much! 🥰☺️
I enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing the things you have learned with other beginner crafters.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That's crazy. WOW! Heading to the Dollar store today. Thanks
Thank you so much for the step by step! This is so clever using the bag!
As soon as I saw you pull out the bag…. “Ugh!, Genius!”

I saw these tote bags near the counter. They are almost unnoticeable. 😅
you can order online

Really good DIY
Thank you! ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing. Do you think e6000 glue would be okay to use?
Hi, yes you can definitely use E6000. Just make sure you give it time to cure, between 24 to 72hours for a full cure.
@@DIYbyCes thanks a lot

Great idea! Can I use REAL leather though? I have an old leather coat I could try. Would the setting be the same on the machine?
Did you mirror image to cut on faux leather?
I love this idea. I think fabric glue would be better to use though
Think I would use double side heat n bond to fuse together
