    I’ve seen a lot of these “look poor” videos, but I think many of them are missing a point. You can avoid excess spending and unnecessary luxury goods without “looking poor”. Well-fitting clothes, good grooming, and classic/timeless taste can go a long way. It’s not like we have to decide between Gucci or “look poor”. You can look very classy and upscale on a budget. The reason I say this is because I think some people are going too far in the opposite direction and risk coming across as unkempt or lazy. Even when my family was poor they taught me to look clean and presentable to the world. It had nothing to do with gaudy clothing or brand flexing. There is a middle ground where you don’t have to “look poor” but you also don’t have to spend excessively to achieve a nice look.

      You completely missed the point. You’re not supposed to actually look poor. As in wearing ripped clothes, socks with holes, not showering, or not grooming. The point is to buy regular inexpensive clothes, drive inexpensive cars (a 2018 Honda civic), and not portray an image as if you’re rich. Live within your means. That’s the point.

    It's deeply ironic that many who try to look rich, are in fact poor, and the harder they try the poorer they probably are. I'm glad that I now understand the game designer brands are playing, and that having a large garish logo on clothing, etc, communicates insecurity far more than success and wealth. It's like many things in life, when you stop faking it and make peace with yourself you actually end up making a better impression and will be a much happier person.

    That said, I do enjoy finding good quality items for the price, mending, upcycling and fixing things. If I have a brand nobody recognises and it's good quality that's a plus for me.

    On another note…. In regards to peoples personal information floating around, most people would be surprised to find out that their data is floating around in the least susceptible places.
    I was at a dental appointment a few weeks ago, and the screen they have attached to the chair that you sit / lay on, literally had a list of a few peoples names, birthdays and social security numbers right on the screen.
    On another note, I once did a clean up job for a college that closed down, and they literally threw away hundreds, if not thousands of profiles for students in the trash. Those profiles included a copy of those students CA ID, as well as copies of their social security cards. And the crazy thing is that all that info was in three ring binders.

    In the stillness of the morning light, I find my hope renewed, a whisper in my soul reminding me of grace so true. Every tear that falls, He holds them in His hands, transforming every struggle into strength, as only He can. With every step I take, I feel His presence near, guiding me through valleys, calming every fear. In the darkness, He’s my light, a beacon shining bright, lifting burdens from my heart, filling me with might. His love surrounds me like a gentle, flowing stream, a promise that sustains me, more than just a dream. I’ll sing of His mercy, I’ll shout of His praise, for in His arms I find rest, through all of my days. Every mountain moved, every chain that breaks, it’s all because of Him, for love’s eternal sake. I stand in His freedom, my spirit soaring high, anchored in His promise, no limit to the sky. As I write this, it feels surreal that Teresa janette brock entered my life at my lowest point. The past few years have been a nightmare, marked by tragedy that took a toll on my mental and physical health. Losing my daughter to a rare illness shattered my world; she was my light and my reason for living. Her death created a void I thought would never heal. Soon after, my husband abandoned us, leaving me to face this pain alone. I was on the brink of giving up when I met Kelvin. His positivity and vibrant energy were infectious, drawing me in immediately. she listened to my story and connected me with a business opportunity she believed would suit my skills. Initially, I was skeptical, unsure if I could take on anything new. However, he encouraged me to give it a try, and I approached it with no expectations. To my surprise, this opportunity turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The business not only provided financial stability but also instilled a sense of purpose in my life. Each morning, I woke up with renewed zeal, knowing I had something to look forward to. This venture allowed me to begin healing my broken heart, and I found joy in helping others facing similar struggles. Teresa empowered me to believe in myself and my abilities, which I will be forever grateful for. she came into my life as a business acquaintance, but she has become so much more. she restored my faith in humanity and illuminated my path during the darkest times. I hope this message serves as a testament to his kindness and generosity. Please help me reach Her at teresajanettebrock @🅖🅜🅐🅘🅛⚫c0M to express my heartfelt gratitude.

    I think it’s a balance, you can spend a few years building wealth, then once you are financially stable it’s okay to spend more on the nicer things especially when your net worth is 100k plus and you’re on a good track for retirement

    • @dannyheroic
      @dannyheroic Месяц назад

      it depends on personal goals and circumstances. Building wealth doesn’t have to mean depriving yourself of all enjoyment until you’ve hit major milestones like owning a home. If someone has built a solid foundation with an emergency fund, investments, and no significant debt, it's okay to reward yourself within reason. It’s all about finding a balance that works for your lifestyle while still saving and investing for the future.

    If you're caught somewhere in the middle, you can look "expensive" without costing a fortune.
    I notice a *MARKED* difference when I am out in public wearing normal shorts and a tee vs gray/black jeans and a button down w/ sleeves rolled up (not designer, just Express)
    One fit is about 50$, while the jeans and button down is maybe 130$. But I can wear it everyday (variants etc) and people seem nicer/more respectful. Way better experience.
    Look NICE/Professional, not wearing lame designer logos that look tacky. You'll see a big difference.
    Don't LOOK POOR. Look NICE but classy. For cheap :) That's the ultimate win.

I got it extremely cheap because the bumper was damaged and the guy was having to move it around street parking in West Hollywood. I fixed it, put some newer wheels on it, and I'm about $5000 all in on a car that doesn't look out of place valet parked. I also buy a few cars to resell each year to make money or offset my cost.

    I 110% agree with this view on money. TIME is the MOST valuable asset in the world, and everyone gets the same 24 hours. How we choose to spend our time and money is (in my opinion) the most important decisions we make in life. Those who are secure and confident about their time and money are the richest people alive. There are too many people out there who are "fake rich" and losing the sense of THEIR human value. Our God given talents, gifts and love are what people truly remember. Not what car we drove or what we wore...which will all go in the landfill one day anyway. Enjoy each day and choose to spend that time with those you care most about -- that's true wealth.
