Simpol Crispy Pork Belly, SIMPOL!

  • You can’t go wrong with Bagnet! Cook and serve this to your family on a weekend!
    INGREDIENTS:
    Set A:
    1 kilogram pork belly (slab), cut into 3
    2 tablespoons vinegar
    2 tablespoons rock salt
    Set B:
    1 tablespoon whole peppercorns
    4 pieces laurel leaves
    1 head garlic, halved
    5 cups cooking oil

    I tried this technique using thinly sliced liempo and I like it! No need to preboil the pork and no talsik! Thank you, chef!

    I was a little bit skeptical at first because it does not require pre-boiling of meat. But I tried it today and they were really crispy! Finally, I don't have to deal with oil splatter anymore! Thank you Chef Simpol for this recipe and the technique! 😊

    Starting the pork in cold oil is a great idea! It's also a great way to fry french fries.

    Chef, sinubukan ko po ito noong isang araw at ngayon. Nasarapan ang mother-in-law ko. Sabi nya ang lutong daw ng pagkaluto ko pati balat. Thanks sa technique Chef!❤ This is very easy to do, lalo na kung nagmamadali at may iba pang lulutuin or gagawin.😊✨

    Cooking oil can be used up to three times lang daw kasi nagkakaroon ito ng dioxin which is carcinogenic.

    Hello, Chef Tatung. Do we wait for the temperature to slowly rise to 160 degrees while the stove is on medium heat or do we crank up the heat so the cooking oil gets to 160 degrees ASAP then maintain na lang namin ang temp between 160 and 170 degrees?

      Just slow cook unti skin is fork tender and raise then crank the heat up to brown.

      Celsius. We technically have markers for measuring in Fahrenheit, but we default to Celsius.

    Watching this in Feb 2024 after it got tested on FEATR together with Panlasang Pinoy and Chef RV's lechon manok. Congrats Chef! Your version of lechon kawali won the taste and crispy test. Will try this recipe asap. Question: Will using "first use oil" not turn out as tasty?
