You would not believe the number of confusing pillow making videos ive watched. Finally! An easy method. Thank You!
What an absolutely fantastic tutorial for backing!
Kimberly, thank you for showing me an easier way to make pillows.
Excellent video!
Girl, this brilliant. Use left of parts of a quilt to make a matching pillow. I am so glad I found this channel.
Thanks for all your tips 👍
Kimberly, you amaze me, you always make things look so easy!!! Love the pillow, and love your method. Thank you all!
Love the tip about leaving a 1/4” of batting for a puffier binding! I’m using that this week!
Love this! Thanks Kimberly
Cute idea and pillow!
I absolutely love your pillow!
I just started making pillows or placemats with my orphan blocks
Another fun tutorial Kimberly. I always forget about leaving that extra batting. Great tips! Thanks again.
Such an adorable pillow ❤
Good Morning Kimberly, Your pillow looks terrific. I am sorry I have had life issues and haven’t taken the time to say hello. I hope you have a wonderful week, 🥰 Chris
No need to apologize! We're here whenever you're ready
Thank you Kimberly! I enjoy your videos; watching is like spending time with a friend. 🥰
Good to know I did it the “Kimberly way”! Yesterday I made 5 pillows covers in just this way!❤
Love this!!! Thank you Kimberly!!!
Very pretty 😍
Wow, what a good idea for the Backing! You are always so helpful and know so much! Great teacher!
Omg. I have a few blocks I have wanted to make into pillows for a very long time and have always been too afraid to attempt it! You made it look so easy! Thank you Kimberly! I loved this little tutorial!!! ❤
Fun and easy. Love pillows
Beautiful pillows! Thanks for sharing.
Great demo. Have so many single blocks that would be good for pillows. Beautiful block also
GREAT video!! Thanks for sharing this tip❤
Love this! ❤❤❤
Thank you for the great tutorial! I love making pillows and am excited to try this method. I have one question about trimming the corners of the batting and backing. Do you also trim them when binding a quilt? I sometimes struggle with bulk in the corners too and this might be the tip I needed to fix that! Thank you!
Love the pillows! I’m going to try the binding trick for fuller pillow binding!
Love this style. I’ve been putting zippers in mine and don’t get a gap in the middle.
Thanks Kimberly
This was awesome! I’ve always wondered how to make a pillow. This was perfect 👏
Cute
In my experience, I need a far larger overlap ( more like 6 inches) to allow for the natural bulge of a cushion insert. If i use a 3 inch overlap I would always use a couple of button fasteners to keep things in place.
Super neat
Love 👍👏🥰🌸🇦🇺
Excellent way to create a fulled or puffy binding, but I would like to see the binding sewed on without corners, and to see the results.
❤😊
❤❤❤
Linda almofada❤️
Kimberly, might you be able to make up some pillow kits? Your pillows are adorable.
Hello K! We do not plan to carry kits for the pillows.
Great video. ❤What was used for the batting? Looks like foam. Not sure if I missed that or not.
Hello Tami! We used Soft and Stable: www.fatquartershop.com/nsearch/?q=soft+and+stable
Like this so much! Will there be another sew along for this block in a Quilt?
Hello GK! We do not plan to make a different quilt with this block.
I misspoke: will there be another sew along with Home Again Quilt. If not, basically I get the pdf pattern and go on my own.
No video to bring up from last year?
@@gkhutchinson1284 you can take it at your own pace. This is the only video that we have that demonstrates this block.
Ok. It is so pretty! Thanks again
Just received my Home Again pattern. I want to make a couple for my porch chairs. Do you have the fabric requirements for just one pillow? The pattern just gives the requirements for the whole quilt. Thank You
Hello Teresa! We do not have a pattern for just the pillow.
If I do not already have batting attached to my block, when I make my “sandwich,” should I make my batting about 1/4 wider than my pillow front before adding the backing so that I can baste around it the way that you did? Sorry to ask such a simple question. I am new to this. Thanks. Pat
Hello Patricia! I like my batting and backing to be bigger than my pillow top and trim after I have done the quilting. When you're quilting sometimes the backing and batting can be taken up and be less than you started with so having it bigger saves you trouble later.
Do you always do your pillows with soft and stable? Can I ask why? Thanks!
Hello stephiepeterson! Yes, I always use soft and stable because it is thick and keeps its shape.
@@FatQuarterShopTX thanks! I love that and am doing a 🤦🏼♀️ and wondering why I haven’t thought of that.
Hi, Kimberly. I purchased the AURIFILL 50 weight thread, but it keeps breaking in my machine. I am using a large cone with a cone holder on a Singer 4452 Heavy Duty, with a 90-100 needle and a walking foot. Do I need to do something different? (An obvious question, I know). Thanks for your help. I don’t have the same trouble with polyester thread with all of the same criteria, but I wanted to do piecing with the pretty AURIFILL thread. Thanks. Pat Berne
Hello Patricia! Yorur machine may be more finicky about the thread that it likes to use. It may just be that Aurifil is just not strong enough to run in your machine. Teresa's Singer Featherweight does not like Aurifil so she uses Superior Threads “So Fine” Cone and it works great.
Need help. I am going to do this project with a class of girls. In helping with my budget, I do not want to purchase an entire yard of backing per girl since all is not used. What amount can I get away with to not have so much extra but some wiggle room?
Hello Lacey! Please contact our customer service team service@fatquartershop.com or call 1.866.826.2069
Is this quilted with soft & stable or batting?
Hello Kay! We used Soft & Stable.
Do u still have sew a long
for Home Again quilt? Where would I find it?
Hello GK! Here is a link to the Home Again QAL blog.fatquartershop.com/announcing-the-home-again-quilt-along/
🤍🤍🤍
The pillows are very pretty but this tutorial was as clear as mud to me. I am a sewer and a quilt maker but couldn't follow this at all.
I thought this was a quilt along so disappointing!!😢
Hello Brenda! It is also a quilt along. We have more info here on our blog: blog.fatquartershop.com/home-again-quilt-along-kick-off/
