I am glad to see you more often in videos. You are one of my favorite designers. Anything you show, I will definitely watch. Thank you for sharing and teaching. 🙂
Thanks so much! Yes, I would like tutorials on things like your method of machine binding; how to square up a quilt; your methods of basting for different size projects; hand quilting; and, yes, blocks like flying geese, etc.
Oops! I'm glad you didn't go too far into the quilting. I love Quilters Select Rulers to. Now my new goal is to make a quilt block pillow. I'm a beginner quilter so I may have to start with something not so busy! Thanks for the tutorial.
🤣 Corey you are too cute! It's nice to know that the pros make crazy mistakes I love everything you do. Your fabric lines are gorgeous I love Beautiful Day so much! I really would love to watch you do machine bind front & back. Thanks for sharing your video 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for your instructional videos. They are very helpful. I’m a fairly new quilter and I am trying to increase my knowledge and improve my skills. So any and all instructional videos are extremely helpful especially since I am a visual learner. Your fabrics and patterns are simply beautiful and I hope that someday soon I will be able to make the more difficult blocks that I love.
I am sure you will be able to!...you will gradually build on the things you already know how to do and before you know it those things you thought were tricky won't be!
I appreciate you sharing how to quilt your pillow top- I was stuck on how to quilt, stitch in a ditch is the only method I know. You also used an extra piece of material you sandwiched the batting in the middle- I like that idea. Your teaching method is great. Thank you. Linda from Michigan
Thanks so much for watching Linda!..I'm glad you found the video helpful! I think that cross hatch quilting works really well on a variety of quilt projects. It's also a nice approach if you are new to machine quilting. =)
I would love to learn how to do the 2 inch machine binding, especially knowing how to get the last side done. I get my projects sown on and then stitch in the ditch, but the back side never ends up even. Look forward to your next tutorials! 😊 Thank you
I just popped over from your Moda Blockheads 5 “Bordered Star” video to rewatch this video. I still love it! You are my favorite Moda designer. I love everything you do. Thank you.😊
Hi Cory, I am so happy I've discovered your RUclips videos. I have seen your patterns and designs for some time now. Love your projects with Sherri McConnell. You are such an amazing quilter! Your work is spot on perfect! Yes, I would love to see more detailed specific videos on specific techniques. ie flying geese, getting perfect seems, maintaining the perfect quarter inch seam allowance, etc. Loved this pillow quilting tutorial. Appreciated your transparency with forgetting the actual basting . You had a good excuse with demonstrating to us earlier. I just plain forget to do things because I'm too anxious to get to the next step. 🙂 But your work is BEAUTIFUL!
That was so cute you shared you forgot to baste the quilt. That's So something I would do! We get in a hurry and don't think everything through every single time, I feel good if I do part-time!
I totally forgot that I wasn't actually basting when I demo'd it! =) Silly me--I got over to the machine and couldn't figure out why everything was shifting on me! =)
Hi Corey Wouldn't you just know I need two new, fresh pillow covers for my living room!! I love the way you do yours, compared to mine. So simple yet so tidy! And again with your machine binding. Beautiful!! I really like the combination of prints you used. Very eye catching. Thanks very much, Corey. Again, hugs from a frosty, freezing Canada!!
Thank you so much for the tutorial! Especially thanks for sharing the issue you had when you did not spray baste at first. This was very helpful to know. I did not realize the shifting fabrics could cause such an issue and probably would not have basted on a smaller project. I will now!
Your pillow is so cute. Thank you. I have just recently started doing both steps of the binding by machine. So much faster then by hand. I have a Bernina and I use the 71 foot. If you have adjustable guides on your walking foot, you would not need to mark the lines on your quilt/pillow. ❤️ thank you and I look forward to more tutorials. 😊
I am using your video as a guide. My daughter has requested pillow covers like this as pops of color for their families "family room". I sure they will be well done by following your video. Thank you so much. Sandy
Agree with all the other comments too! When I watched Your tutorials you did on faux piping binding (I think that’s what it was called) with Fat Quarter shop, I thought you definitely needed to do tutorials! You are a pleasure to watch and your personality really shines! So yes, please keep making more videos! I made A Very Coriander Christmas and some tutorials on the sashing with stars and some of the smaller piecing like that would be great! Love me some Corey Yoder! ❤️
Loved everything about this tutorial. Corey explains everything so clearly in a delightful way to make any projects seem doable! Hope to see many more tutorials like this very soon!
Thank you for the pillow demo. I like how firm the pillow appears. Maybe I'm buying the wrong insert because even if I have a pillow top that measures the same size as the pillow form, it doesn't look nice and full and firm. I end up with a limp pillow. I need to try again. I have a shelf full of pillow inserts waiting to be used. More of that stash of planned gifts that never got made!
Thanks for a great tutorial. I found the QS rulers at a quilt retreat 6 months ago and I'm slowly replacing all of my rulers with these because they are amazing.
Great tutorial! I’ve never used the Hera tool to mark before so will need to purchase one. Plus never done spray basting or binding on pillows! Very informative! Thanks
It’s a neat little gadget! I often use the Dritz marker I referenced but wanted to demo a Hera marker as I know more people wouldn’t be familiar with it.
I would love to see technique videos. Machine binding is a great one to start with. I love the pillow and I have the book. I am adding this to my list of projects.
Great video and very helpful, loved that you shared your mistake. Reminded me of something that I often do. Just found your lines of materials and books at my local quilt store. Looking forward to completing my projects with your fabrics. I am so excited by the lovely colors. Thank you for your RUclips videos.
This was so informative! Your instructions are so easy to follow. Maybe adding a link to the supplies you use would be helpful. Also, any instructions you have for flying geese and sew and flip corners would be great. These are two of the hardest techniques for me. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!--those are great suggestions. =) In my video on Diagonal Seam tape that I released earlier this week, I showed how I make flying geese and HST's and those stitch/flip corners. =) That video wasn't available when you left your comment so I wanted to let you know about it!
Loved the tutorial even though I was distracted by all the Holliberry behind you. I am obsessed! I got back to quilting again recently and of course it's hard to find now. I wouldn't mind if you did a Holliberry II, though I pretty much like anything you design. :)
Thank you for this tutorial - the cushion is now on my to do list. I love the Beautiful Day fabric . I was glad to hear that you will be doing more videos on techniques. Fabulous tutorial Corey! I’m not familiar with the marking tool but definitely seems better than drawing lines. I’m getting ready to make pillow shams & use this technique. So enjoy YOU!!

Great video! I would love to see your thoughts on how you choose fabrics for a quilt. For example, when you sew along to someone else’s pattern but use your fabric, how do you decide what to use where?
That was great, Corey! I'm definitely going to try using the hera to mark lines before I baste my next pillow. I've always done it after basting, and that can be bulky. Keep up the fun, informative videos!
Hello Enjoying the teaching and your approach. You are so easy to follow. Thank you Do you wait for the basting to dry before you quilt? Love your fabric design too. ❤

This pillow is gorgeous! Corey is such a good sewer and quilter.
Thank you so much!
Thank you! I really need to tackle pillows. I don't know why, but they have always been intimidating.

I baste my projects with old thread. I find it's relaxing to do and keeps everything in place.

When using 2 inch binding with the machine does your stitches going in the seam on on the binding?
Thanks so much! I prefer top top stitch on the binding rather than in the ditch when I do machine binding. I have a video on my machine binding technique here: ruclips.net/video/TSom8s63e3U/видео.html
Thank you for sharing this! Have you ever used iron-on batting?
I have…I don’t prefer it. It tends to be a lot stiffer.
