The Vinyl Flooring installed in this video Is no longer in stock. I am working on finding an alternative product and will be filming a new version soon. Cheers!
I am installing new flooring soon. Looking forward to it!
Can't wait to see what product you recommend. I've watched your videos for years and just finished up a drywall project with the help of your videos. New flooring is next! You are a tremendous help for this office worker by day, diy homeowner by night! Keep up the great work and thanks for all you do!
Any idea on a timeline?
Thanks for keeping this up-to-date! I'll be taking out some carpet and putting some new flooring down soon in Kennesaw, GA. I'm super excited to use your tips, tricks, and tutorials. Thank so much!
What do u think about waterproof laminate flooring
Just so you guys know, I’ve been watching this channel for YEARS anticipating buying my own home. Finally closed two weeks ago and I’ve remodeled my entire bedroom...I barely knew how to hold a paintbrush before watching Jeff. This guy knows what he’s talking about!
CONGRATULATIONS DAYRA!!!!!! That is what I am talking about. #JUST DO IT YOURSELF!
That is awesome!!! Congratulations!
s Hey dude, I don’t like negativity in my life and I’m sure Jeff doesn’t really want to hear your shade either. He has helped me, a 27-year-old new homeowner who didn’t even know how to hold a brush, remodel my room. My room looks fabulous and he does give great tips. You are also forgetting that he is in Canada and perhaps they don’t do things the exact same way as here in the States. Like have security strips? Additionally, if you don’t like his “fake” channel then why are you on his videos scoping out positive comments? I said what I said, this guy has helped me A LOT
s I didn’t read all of that. I’m not trying to argue with someone on a DIY video on RUclips. Saved it for Facebook. Good day sir
Congratulations on your new house.
Jeff, your constant smiling and laughing while doing a task that many of us would otherwise see as rather daunting keeps the mood light and that attitude is contagious. This is absolutely my favorite channel as a new homeowner. Much love brother.
When the guitar comes in along with the laughter you know the job is getting easy....
Your so right Rob.
So true! My hubby cannot do work like Jeff. He would be cursing and chewing me out cause I wanted it done. That's why my house looks like a disaster. What gets done I mat do. When He worked a gone all day I would do what wanted done. Now he home all day and if I start a project in my time he is always up butt explaining how he would do it. 😵. I just give up at times. I have a hole in my bathroom wall caused from moisture. Been there for few years. Can't get him out of house to get it done.😠😵
everytime i need to do something hard, Jeff is my go to guy! I've installed over tile for my backsplash and I'm still amazed at how well it came out from watching his videos on the subject over and over. Now I want to put down a vinyl floor. So I will be watching this video over and over :). Along with asking my questions. He also answers too. He's awesome!!
Someone has got to have seen this and wondered if there should be a tv show with this guy.
We did our kitchen with 24x12 vinyl tiles that installed exactly like that, the short end overlap snap into lock and the long sides tongue and groove. From Home D, was on clearance sale 5 years ago, never seen them again. 5 years later the floor still looks brand new and like you said the install was a breeze. Great video.
I own residential buildings, I’ve been renovating my units since I was in my early 20s and this man has taught me so many new things!
Smart guy Bob! Owning and renovating- keep it up. Your tenants are happy because you are putting money into their home and you will be well off, if the government doesn't make it to hard on us 'mom and pop' operations. :)
Installing a vinyl plank flooring in a couple of days and this has just changed the way I was gonna do it. Tacking down the edges of the underlay, never even thought of that. Thank you, keep up the good work
Thank you so much for all the wonderful videos, Jeff! You are my go to guy whenever I need to tackle a project for our 90’s house I’m updating. I’m 70 years old and just now learning I can do these updates myself-next on the list is laying this kind of vinyl floor in a jack and Jill bathroom. I’ve learned how to do repairs on our shed and house siding. In fact, this activity is what gets me up in the morning as I’m excited about every new project!
That is awesome! Cheers to you Jan!
Jan, you can do this for years. I finished a friends floor because I could not get up on my own. I’m 75 and got stuck so I just kept working until he arrived home. He appreciated my work I did for him. I had fun laughing at myself. He had fun telling this story to his friends. They keep inviting me over for some reason
Thx for your post; I'm 70, a female who needs to improve my strength. Anything is possible, with indomitable spirit.
I finally bought my own home this year. This has became my go to channel for information and inspiration. Now I am adding this flooring to my list for my kitchen remodel.
You can do it!
Pro Tip: If you're going to set your baseboards before laying your flooring, use a sample piece of your flooring together with whatever padding you will lay and set your baseboards at the finished flooring height. The resulting gap will give you the leeway for cutting around walls and other obstacles.
Yellow rose of texas
Jeff is my mentor, watched videos for a few months and then got to work and completed my basement with half a movie room, another quarter a gym, bathroom and storage. Thank you Jeff!
My mom have been watching your channel for a while now and thought you are very good at what you do. She is a home owner and a DIY for the most part. Now she will be buying and laying down floors. Thank you.
My favourite DIY guy (and a fellow Canadian too). Thanks for walking us through everything so clearly. I own a house now so I’m soaking up all the knowledge! Hoping to tackle our pretty grim floor situation, hopefully the vinyl flooring deal will be available in BC soon.
I am so grateful for having found your channel. You have taught me so much, I really appreciate you putting these videos together. I am putting these floors in my living room next month. Thank you Jeff and Matt and the whole team for teaching me this stuff and for saving me thousands of dollars in the process.
You are so welcome!Cheers!
How did you get the flooring to install in your home? The site says the product isn't available to ship to the US.
Thanks! Great series of videos. I finished leveling my floor this morning after watching your video on that, and the vinyl planks will start tomorrow. The end of this project is in sight, and it's going to look great. Thanks!
I love this stuff too; durable, waterproof and pretty; and I have used many different flooring mediums over the years; but I will say I have had more side-seam separation over time with soft core LVP than any other; and it's almost impossible to fix without tearing up slabs of the flooring. Make certain every piece is snapped together well, or if it is damaged during install, toss it out or cut out the damaged lip section.
I like the music playing in the background 😃. After watching this video I’m confident that I can tackle this. Fingers crossed 🤞🏾.
Second to say cannot wait to see the whole place
as a first time homebuyer .. your page is GOLD!
Hi Jeff, after watching this video I purchased this type of flooring in the UK for my hall and lounge and you are absolutely correct. Amazingly easy to work with and looks fantastic. So much easier to work with and lay than laminate. I probably will never use laminate again. Thanks and keep the great work. #staysafe
Love it! Thank you for all you do, from the states, Southern Illinois appreciates you
Cheers to Illinois!
What ia the name of the company. None of is jave been able tk find it. Was it Mohawk?
Thanks for this video, our new LVP kitchen floor looks and feels great, and your tips made the install pretty easy! The old pink cracked tile and crumbling grout is gone!
Jeff, your videos are more therapy than construction. I can unwind at the end of a B.S day and heal from your videos. Thank you

hey jeff, how is the tour different from your youtube videos? so stoked.
Home RenoVision DIY what is that lightest color floor name I’m on ur site and wondering if it’s hospice-08 color?

Love your videos, I’ve learned so much. I want to do my floors because I have the old styled tiles and I do all the handy work and with having RA I have to find everything that makes things easier 🙏🏼. I think these will be easy on me. Thanks for all you guys do. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I hope I can get to order them. Stay healthy and safe!
hi, what is the name of the tiles you used? I don't see them on your amazon link. thanks
That ease of cutting is no joke!!
total DIY!
Once I start watching your videos I have a heck of a time getting away! lol Love your channel! We just did an addition to our home and used the click lock waterproof vinyl plank flooring throughout the whole house! Love the floor so far and is a breeze to clean! The addition is 26'x28' with Shaker platinum Grey Cabinets with 8' island and American Salt Quartz countertops . The whole room has 1" x 8" tongue and groove pine walls and cathedral ceilings with 2 coats of water based Minwax Poly.. We have 6" gimbal LED lights and much more! Anyway I like to do a lot of things myself when I can. We did hire out most of the work this time around but now I have a nice workshop in the cellar under the new addition to play. Keep up the good work!
I am remodeling my house and would like to use this flooring . You do an excellent job of demonstrating the easiest way to to install it . Thank you for your help.
Just discovered this channel and I have to say, I never thought to look at vinyl planks. I was looking at the traditional hardwood laminate and it just looked to be a bit of a hassle to install but this looks to be much more straightforward where you don't need much more than what I already have. I also love those vents. Good price on the flooring too...a little less than half of what I had looked at last year for hardwood laminate. Now just need to figure out what color ;P
"I love being at the point where I'm done making a mess!" 18:10 Takes a grinder to his flooring.
We've all been there.
Mind Blown! Very good tips...I've installed LVP before but I've never seen it done that EASY.!
I absolutely love your videos. You explain everything easily! I’ve watched so many as we are doing our house up..... you’ve helped me understand soooo much. Thankyou so much 👍🏼
Hope you get to the million mark this year. You deserve it! Every presentation is a joy to watch!
Thank you. Our focus however is on delivering content that you guys need and want! Cheers!
Do you ship to Hawaii ?
i wish this promotion was in the USA also. Tks for the information on installing. Very easy!
This stuff is pretty inexpensive. You can find it a Floor and Decor or Home Depot in the States. There are also a few places on line that you can find it, and many times it may be even less expensive, since they are typically wholesalers.
Your vinyl plank videos have been supremely informative, thank you!
- Jeff, I truly enjoy your videos. The clarity of info is VERY, VERY helpful. I binge-watch one to the next (bathroom, deck, kitchen, etc). Thanx 4 sharing.
Jeff thank you I am loving the vids I'm picking up so much from watching you Ithank you again keep up the good work p.s. I'm from the uk all the best peter
Thank you Peter and Cheers to the UK!
Great tips JT! On those long cuts, I've found score and snap works fine, you just need a pliers to break it off.
What flooring is this? Do u know. ?
@@Lori9396 I’m still trying to find out myself 🤷♂️
What a pro! He even remembers to drop the ol’, “ Hey don’t forget to like and subscribe!” mid-install. Jeff, you rock man! You’re a pro, a genius and excellent at both your profession and explaining to us novices how to do it right and always get that “pro look”. Thank you for spending so much time and effort to eloquently explain each step!
Pros don't install base before they install the floor.
Love the quarter round switch out. You are so right. And, I am just beginning our new floor journey so I am going to borrow the idea
You should have a show on HDTV. I have learned a ton from your videos!
Great channel!! Always great content, knowledgeable and doesn’t mess around with side stuff just to fill time. 👍
Todd H - I totally agree. No fluff, no music, no games - intelligently presented content exactly on target. No foolishness either. He is respectful and humble while totally professional. I appreciate how near the end he stated he welcomes and researches product samples and IF he feels the items are quality and 'live up to their hype' he will offer a discount code for his fans. Obviously a very nice and intelligent gentleman.
Thanks for "ALL" of the DIY videos Jeff!
So glad to read you are Canadian. I just bought a country home that will need renovations and repairs. One of the renos I want to do is to remove the green floor tiles in the kitchen, and put in this type of flooring. And lo and behold, I found your page. Woo Hoo.. Thanks for the DIYs. I am now subscribed and following.
When you said the remark about the knee pads, I had actually just been thinking that... crazy...
You make this installation look really easy... It's just me, a woman... I know nothing about flooring but, I love working on my home. I had to replace some vinyl not once but twice that my dog tore up. I've been told I did a good job of it but, I know where my mistakes are. It will do for now but . I found your video so informative with the tools you use and the way you explained what you are doing. And that flooring with the moulding really does look sexy.... great job! love the video...
He will regret not using knee pads when his arthritis shows up later in life. Ask me how I know.
@@CitEnthusiast 20 years installing no knee pads . i do everything except ceramics.
but im getting bad wrists from patching and glueing.... the jokes for having bad wrists rather then needing knee pads are more tolerable haha
Tou have gotten rather big on YT in the DIY part at least, and I love how you still work and do things, even though its clear you have more than a cameraman around you :)
Great! I love all your DIY videos, Jeff thank you. I am a single homeowner and your videos gave me the confidence I need. Canada eh
You ALWAYS provide a wealth of great info. I just refloored my studio with the "bubble wrap" underlayment & vinyl plank & WON'T be doing that for the downstairs install. Also, from one of your previous videos, I now know what to look for in a vinyl plank wear layer and locking system.
As someone who had to lay down almost all of the vynl flooring in their house I really appreciated your videos.
Luxury vinyl plank seems to be the new gold standard in flooring , the easy of install and versatility is hard to believe.
My basement contractor recommended it for my basement. The lvp comes with under lay , so went straight on concrete. I even used it in my washroom instead of tiling.
Very happy with the results
Loved that flooring that you put in the kitchen. I can't believe it was that easy. The color looked great as well.
I do think I've found the floor type I want to go with for a renovation. Thanks Jeff. Good content as always.
Here's a DIY flooring tip. My wife and I installed eng. hardwood flooring on the stairs and second floor hallway. 125 yr old house the 2nd floor had an almost 2" sage in the middle. We did self leveling cement where the really bad spots were and thought I did great job. When install was complete, you could feel the odd spot where the floor was bouncy and this cannot be b/c this was installed as a floating floor (as per manuf., either floating or nailed). Here's the TIP: I used window and door foam (this is the medium expanding stuff so it remains very dense). I used painters tape, 2" square and drill 1/4' hole through floor (OMG), then insert the red tube and spray in foam until it comes out hole. Let dry, cut off excess. Use same 1/4' bit by hand and make small pit in foam at hole, fill with wood filler, stain. I dare you to find all the holes I made. :-)
You could have made a DIY of your hard work. Great ingenuity! Glad you were able to solve your problem.
@@rosemarykriegel3226 We're install our bedroom floor this weekend and have foam ready, so might record and post it. Cheers.
we had laminate flooring for over 5 yrs, and they recieved a lot of spills from grand kids, never did any damage to them
little spills can't make damage, but more water in 10 minutes can do.
Your videos crack me up. Love all your videos. For sure learned a ton. Glad to know we did our new floor right. Thank you for sharing your wisdom
I installed a wooden floor of 8 by 4.5 meters some weeks ago. Incredible what a work. 2 liters of wood glue in total, and as soon as the glue touches the wood you have to finish the plank neatly within 10 minutes or you're screwed. I'm glad that it's finished. Only trim work left to do. I think i like real wood more than PVC or laminate though as it sticks less to bare feet.
I see you more often than I do my significant other.. haha! Love this channel!
I'm new subscriber here I'm glad I found your channel l really like how you work you show every single detail
Jeff, I just did a thousand sq feet of loose lay LVP. We used carpet tape around the edges and a few stripes in the middle. Easy easy and looked great. The advantage of loose lay is that a damaged plank can just be lifted out and replaced in about ten seconds. Good distribution in Ontario, we used Aurra by Taiga.
looks amazing! we just bought our first home and are so excited to start on some renos like flooring! thank you for all of your videos!
Congratulations! Be sure to paint First! Makes prepping quicker too!
learning a lot from this guy even before I get my own house. I'm feeling confident when I do my DIY going over his video...
This video has helped me tremendously even though I will not be doing the install myself. The good thing is I'll know what the installer is and isnot suppose to be doing. 🤗 thank you
"I don't Knee'd pads" 😄 oh Jeff you silly goose you.
I was an electrician for 30 years and made fun of all the old timers when I was young for wearing knee pads, now my knees hurt everyday. I wish I would have listened back in the day instead of being all young & cocky about safety gear. Kneeling on concrete day after day will take it's toll believe me I found out the hard way, how ignorant was I.
I’m with Jeff...”safety second!”...😬
I’m not even a home owner yet and I want to install these floors that looks so easy
And you make it on such good humor, that I love it better!
i got around 500 pounds of this stuff for free from a guy at work. then this video came up as recommended. perfect lol. your videos will help alot with renovating my house.
Love your vids man your amazing
Hey Jeff, glad to see that the flooring company is 647. Thanks for supporting Canadian businesses!
I have never had to do renovations and my husband is pretty good at fixing, adding, or whatever. Once he views your videos then maybe I can get some renovations done in this house that was built in 1978 and we bought in 1990. 30 yrs...momma wants some upgrades. I love the videos and could almost do it without him (which I did when he was on the road.....now is the new kid in the house)! Not only had he retired he has retired from my honey-do. He helps others, who, some have paid him. Maybe I need to pay him. I love your videos and you explain things in a way it does not take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Thank you & Keep up the fantastic advice/illustrations/excellent work!
I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH FROM YOUR VIDEOS! GREAT JOB! keep it coming!
Question: How are your knees holding up from flooring installation?
Can you recommend a good type of flooring to install in a finished basement playroom on a concrete floor? THANK YOU for these videos!
Thank you for all you do! Terrific advice!
Love, love, love your channel. A real contactor giving thorough expertise with our Canadian climate in mind is way more helpful for the Canuck DIYer like me! Thank you.
Loving this 💕 I love the color flooring you went with. Beautiful
Great to find your videos for DIY projects . I am wanting to have a log Home built in the country and finish it out myself or be the general contractor for it . Your Tips are wonderful,. I talked to some manufacturers reps at Home Depot yesterday that were College interns , They could sure use your videos to have some ideas of of what customers want and need.
One of the best DIY channels , thank you 👍💪
Awesome tips and tricks! I plan on redoing my flooring soon and although I have done it before in my previous house, this video would have come in handy then lol.
Just got quoted $5,000 US for a relatively small job to do this, think I'm going to take it up on my own, some of these installers are insane.
Its hard to find a honest contractor for anything, is what i have found that won't rip you off. Its a shame how many not all have gotten. Most should have there contractor license revoked. Its all about the money, quality be damned.
@@dm-xy3bh And when you find an honest contractor, treat him well, give him lots of referrals, and make him espresso when he's in your home. Never let them go.
When you said process I knew you were Canadian when you said aboat it confirmed it.
So how do you Canadians like your communist prime minister Justin Trudeau? he's really doing a job on your poor country. We're not doing much better down here in the states. We have a fascist, racist, totalitarian, not to mention brain dead president here. The whole world is in trouble with this great reset, and if the media doesn't start telling the truth about this we're all in trouble
Very informative video, Easy to follow, I highly recommend watching.
We love floor n decor! Been in the market for vinyl flooring and this video was a big help thank you!
With that vent cap I would have aligned the grain with the flooring. Would look more continuous.
Where, color, name brand is this flooring? Also Underlay pad.
Finally a floor that I think I can install thank you so much Jeff
Cheers barbera!
Hi Jeff - on the quarter round and covering the floor to paint note, we prefer to spray all trim laying down on bare subfloor, that was when we install it after the flooring goes down, all we have to do is fill nail holes and caulk. I’ve seen builders do it both ways about 50/50 but I agree with what your point that picking a matching profile does help if your going going to add a secondary trim!
Hi, What is the name of the floor company? I can't find it in the description, and I don't hear it mentioned in the video..
Did you find out , I’m asking same
@@wayneowens4322 im looking too...
he said mohawk flooring
Mohawk flooring waa the only name I ever heard..
This guy is great. Smart, seems trustworthy, talented, tons of great vids, so I like him. But this particular video, with the promises of a super LVP product, that is the cheapest, and the best-- and then there's no trace of the name or any links. Big red flag. Jeff should really update this with real information.
"We're all done making a mess..." 18:30 😂
For those mid plank notches, or even curved cuts, an oscillating/sonic saw works amazing!
Floor looks great!. Made it to the end of the video and didn't even realize it. Great content, Loved it.👍😍
I require kneepads. You read my mind. ;-)
Looks beautiful!
cheers most people do I think! or at least a foam pad to kneel on!
@@HomeRenoVisionDIY what flooring color was this you used? And who sells it? I am in Vancouver
would love to see a picture of the whole room wtih the finished product!
coming soon!
Soon at the stage I'll be installing my flooring and I am glad you mentioned "done with being messy" because I was wondering if I should wait until I'm completely done with the multiple coats of paint and trim/baseboard and the answer is YES. Just will do the quarter round/base shoe last to finish. I'm doing a basement room so have DMX + vinyl plank, thinking to space baseboard appropriately to cut out some pieces to use as spacers when I go to nail in the baseboard. Thanks for everything Jeff! I subscribe on my other account lol. -Kamran
I used this LVF in our beach condo! It is awesome and so nice to walk on, easy clean up and affordable.
what is the brand name for this LVP flooring? Model? thanks!
@@jangr88 We used Lifeproof at Home Depot. It is easy to install and locks together. Easy maintenance and durable.
Seriously, where does it say the name of the flooring?
Why not adjust that air vent register in the sub floor first.... making it square to that baseboard as opposed to a fiddly cut?
Because there is usually metal ductwork nailed to the sub floor for the vent. Makes it difficult to recut the hole in the sub floor without replacing the ductwork.
Great job! I'm about to do this install in my basement and I'm definitely feeling more confident!
Cheers Renee, happy to help!
@@HomeRenoVisionDIY Finishing my basement and binge watching your videos so I can DIY many of the projects myself! :)
Your videos are spot on and appreciated.
Jeff, when you first started installing the floor in this video, it looks like there was no 1/4 inch expansion gap. Why is that?
What is the name of the plank???
