I've lived in the same house for 52 years. I know what it's like to experience time unfold in one space. People and pets come and go. Bush turns to farms, to land subdivisions, to houses on acreage, to added community infrastructure. Trees in backyards disappear to accommodate more houses on smaller blocks. Apartments creep in. People are born and die, young and old. Love is found and lost, or remains beyond the grave. Thoughts evolve from simple to complex, then simple again. Longtime residents grow from infancy to one of the few remaining custodians of local history. A living witness to time on Earth. 🌏 An explorer of time, charting a course that can only be travelled once. ⏳

I don't know how this film will do (best of luck), but I understand the concept. I recently found my childhood home online on a realtor site, and looking at the photos I see things me and my Dad worked on when we lived there along with some of the changes that were made by other families who lived there after us. But I look at the photos of those empty rooms and I can still picture so many memories of the people that filled those rooms, the furniture we had, our first color TV, Christmas trees and trains, huge holiday family dinners stretching from the dining room to the living room, our dog, friends, neighbors and family visits, you name it. It's nice to be able to take a trip down memory lane like that to remind you, no matter how fast life seems to fly by, we all did a heck of a lot of stuff, it just doesn't seem like it at the time...

Too sad. It looks beautiful. Maybe it's just my age, but too sad. My husband and I sold our first home when we were in our early 60s. I walked through the house one last time trying to hide my tears. So much had happened! Now, he's gone and I'm living in our second home, and sometimes, the tears fall. I expect to hear his voice summoning me to see something on his computer, or ask me why I'm not up yet, or asking me what is for dinner... life passes by so very fast. A home without love is just a house. Time is the cruelest master of all.
That's beautiful in a painful way... I still remember when my wife convinced me to paint over all the scratches in the door frame that marked over 10 years of our 4 kids growing... I did it because I love her and it was time to tidy things up. I still secretly cried into my pillow that night... This movie looks good, Tom Hanks and Robin Wright are back working together again and the magic is back. The technology slowly scares you but the premise of letting the film run from this chosen perspective at a certain point is brilliant. Sitcom moderately brilliant.
pure gimick, nothing brilliant about it! BS Hype, most will fall asleep expecting motion, in this Film - stage play! is all they are going to get, stay awake!
I haven't watched a movie in the theaters since 2021, I'm definitely going to have to see this when it comes out. Being someone who has seen many Robert Zemeckis-directed films, this seems like a must-watch for me. Also, huge credit to the person who used Yes' 'I've Seen All Good People' in this trailer, hearing it while watching this trailer made me tear up and I don't think I've ever gotten emotional over a trailer in my life before. Loving Prog-Rock, I used to listen to Yes for years and I can say their music makes me emotional sometimes. It's awesome to see their music getting recognition again. Great stuff!
Gotta love how Hollywood spent decades "smashing" the family structure because it was deemed patriarchal and now all of a sudden they're acting like it's magically important again.
I'm a 39 years old from South Africa. I was browsing for a movie watch and the Bio was an interesting read. I did not understand what the concept was at first album when I understood I was engaged.something different to what I usually watch. I watched it with the idea this is my family. I love how history is portrayed and real life incidents and issues is captured. I won't take negative comments about this movie serious as I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. CGI did an awesome job and we looking at the future of production. This movie has to be watched with an open mind. Not for everyone but definitely has an amazing story of family
At age 63 I have seen children grow up and become parents, seen loved ones lose vitality and memory, lost much myself. And I have loved my life and others lives. This is similar to the movie Bicenntennial Man. Heart wrenching in it's utter normality and reality.
The older we get, the more we become aware of our own mortality, as well as those we care about most. Time is a strange thing. This movie looks to capture that feeling.
Forrest Gump came out in 1994, the same year I was born. This is how we’re celebrating our 30th birthday! Mr. Forrest Gump, you’re always my favorite person ❤️
I was a huge Yes fan for much of my life and have seen them in concert more than any other band, and I just spent 30 minutes trying to prove you wrong. My apologies. The absence of the "I've seen all good people" refrain threw me off. It's been too long since I've listened to the albums.
The first time I saw this trailer, the de-aging on Tom and Robin's face was so good... I thought Robert Zemekis made this the same way "Boyhood" was made.
A friend recommended this movie because of the focus on a place called home. I just published a book, "Home Again - A Restoration Story." Watching this movie helped me to process why I bought an old house that has been in my family for 60 years restoring it and now creating new memories inside the walls. The movie also helped me to process the grief of knowing some days have long passed but we can hold on to the best parts creating new memories. Home is a sacred place. I loved this movie.
LOL...I was thinking about the credits for cinematographer. I'm sure it will say something other than "Bob Smith": instead, it will read "Canon - EOS C70 4K Video Mirrorless Cinema Camera with RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens" 😁

As someone who watches and have all the episodes of Robin Wright on soap opera Santa Barbara (1984-1988), I think her de-aging in this movie is really good.
One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Not a kids movie. About life, love, family, change, history, challenges, etc. Just excellent. Bring your hankies and tissue
Everyone keeps talking about the de-aging process, but I’m more compelled by the framing device. Just as I was compelled by the graphic novel it’s based on. To have a static shot in that format is one thing - it can be expected. To have it in a wide release, over 90 minute, big budget studio film is daring. I’m really looking forward to this.
@@traydaniel0403 Obviously Forrest Gump is great. But Zemeckis hasnt matured as a filmmaker since Cast Away. He's playing with CGI without trying to learn any new storytelling techniques. Zemeckis was a real innovator, next to Cameron, Spielberg and Scorsese back in the day. Now, he's more of a has-been than any of them

We built our own home and on the back doorstep myself and my husband and our 3 children put our feet prints. Just to let people know in the future we lived here and loved this place ❤ The rafters were bare over a summer and a swallow built a nest there ... When they left we sealed up the roof and I didn't get rid of the nest, instead I placed a note in a little bottle in it 'first family raised in this house'.
There are no words. This takes the cake. Thank you, Robert Zemeckis, for understanding American history and presenting it in such an emotional way. 😭❤️
There is something within having a house as the stabel factor within this story that represents the way we think about our houses now. And yet many struggel to find such a beautiful house to make memories in.
Nice -- Zemekis pushing the envelope of tech and story....and Robin Wright not playing a hardened woman for a change. Plus Forrest and Jenny back together.....hope this is movie magic
What a wonderful use of Yes music, Jon Anderson recorded this in 1970, & imo he remains the only active vocalist from that era who's voice is almost completely intact. He's on tour right now on the cusp of 80 performing this & other Yes classics. Blowing minds every show & worth every penny. If he comes near you don't miss him 👍🏻👍🏻
Not every Zemeckis film is golden, but you can't deny that he gave us all-time classics (like Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?), and he tries to make something outside the box.

Thanks. Your review makes me want to watch it. It seems like we're getting a storyline, not a display of celebrities playing themselves.
I' very rarely cry at film but this really took me by surprise.
This preview has me crying . The passing of time is hard to accept face, and inevitable
I never thought I'd be so happy to see de-aged Tom Hanks and Robin Wright. Showing them through the years like this is going to be a rollercoaster of emotions. This is Cinema at it's best!

@@meme4lyfe277I mean it’s showing one location through a great period of time. It’s an interesting concept
But using deepfake and AI technology has completely crossed the line, so I'm out.
After two years since his live-action remake on Disney's Pinocchio failed us audiences. I see nothing wrong with Tom Hanks' portrayal on Geppeto but the rest of the film left me desired.

My grandparents lived in the same house from 1941 to 2012 when my grandma passed. What an amazing journey. Gonna definitely see this one in the theater
The prehistoric scenes transitioning into the modern era was very well done.
Here is what we all study for, what we all work for, and what we all fight for. Many people spend their whole lives thinking that "here" is in the future, but the truth is, "here" is already here.
So true and I'm one of those people.
And at the end, he flies away in the house attached to thousands of balloons

The movie brings me sadness because 😮😢it's jus sad when you think about the meaning of the balloons and how the old man was
haha yeah that would be cool
And his dog says “Squirrel”
No one can pull this off except Robert Zemeckis! Hats off to you, sir!
Jon Anderson is still an amazing vocalist and after all these years YES manages to sound fresh, insightful, sometimes and magnificent.
Forever they will be discovered by new generations, that makes me content.
Me as well. YES through the ages of man. I see it happening.
Can’t wait to watch the movie with Jon Anderson vocals
Great new single from Jon and The Band Geeks just released.
I hope they are using YES music for more than a cinematic trailer remix! Fingers are crossed!❤
Very sadly, there were no Yes songs or even snippets in the entire movie. Got me to buy the ticket though.😔
Oh guys, you made a movie where Forrest and Jenny are finally together as a happily married couple. You made me cry. Thank you so much. You don’t know what it means to a Forrest Gump fan like me to finally see that. It’s so beautiful 😭

Fortunately, people like Zemeckis, Hanks, Wright still exist. Thank you.
Because new generation film maker never stands out. Bret they can do is working for super heroes. (Some early ones are great but right now, no thanks)

When you see Hanks, Wright, and Zemeckis and the directorial credits hover on Forrest Gump, it was the alternate timeline we always wanted...
Tom Hanks and Robert Zemeckis were together since Forrest Gump, Castaway, Polar Express Pinocchio in real life 2022, Then this.
I saw this trailer in the movie theaters a few weeks ago and I'm thinking to myself "I can't wait to see this movie on November 15th!" This movie looks good, Tom Hanks and Robin Wright are back working together again and the magic is back. Robert Zemeckis is an amazing director and it is great to see him working with Tom Hanks again. Thanks and have a good day!
November 15? I really did time travel like that movie, because I just saw it four hours ago…..
The technology slowly scares you but the premise of letting the film run from this chosen perspective at a certain point is brilliant. Sitcom moderately brilliant.
It's a comic book adaptation! Comic runs with the same concept. It's actually pretty long for a one-off (304 pages).
@@guywholivesforartmainly because it came from a magazine that spun off into its own project!
pure gimick, nothing brilliant about it! BS Hype, most will fall asleep expecting motion, in this Film - stage play! is all they are going to get, stay awake!
Welcome back Robert Zemeckis. This looks absolutely beautiful.
0:47 why did the camera disappear.
I’m getting “a ghost story”meets “the tree of life” vibe from this trailer.
Good shout. I don't even remember loving A Ghost Story but it's really stayed with me. I think about it frequently.
Yeah feels a lot like A Ghost Story.
It doesn't look nearly as depressing as those two movies.

Gotta love how Hollywood spent decades "smashing" the family structure because it was deemed patriarchal and now all of a sudden they're acting like it's magically important again.
This is in top 3 anticipated comic book movies of this year.
Underrated comment
😂😂😂
One I actually might not disparage.
I can't explain how emotional I've got with this 1:49-minute trailer. I'm crying. I'm expecting so much from this movie.
Joy, Hope, Loss, Love. i'm in tears because many of us only experience loss and pain and suffering. i will never know the meaning of the other words.
"You're my girl"
"I'll always be your girl, Forrest."
That’s funny, I was thinking this was the first time they had worked together, but duh… I forgot about Jenny :)
Ooof... heart wrenching call-back. Nice.

This is classic Zemeckis. I love it when he experiments with special effects.

Song is ”I’ve Seen All Good People” by Yes
I was a huge Yes fan for much of my life and have seen them in concert more than any other band, and I just spent 30 minutes trying to prove you wrong. My apologies. The absence of the "I've seen all good people" refrain threw me off. It's been too long since I've listened to the albums.
@@JG-vq6rd I suppose it could be argued that this is “Your Move” since that’s the only part of the larger piece here. 🤷♀️

Thank you! Now that I know the name of the song, I can better avoid ever hearing it again. Way too dumb and happy for me.
I suppose it's ironic, using the song "Your Move" to advertise a movie about a couple not doing so.

Okay okay. Hookers to the left and blow to the right!
Cinematographer: How you wanna setup this shot?
Zemeckis: Just set the camera down. Thanks!

The first a major movie studio mentioned, “Contact”. A hidden gem of science fiction movies.
Contact made nearly 200 million dollars back in 97, and I and many film lovers I know never forgot about the movie since… it’s not hidden at all. Well, maybe to very young people who were going crazy about Interstellar and Arrival , when Contact explored the same themes better
This might be the ultimate Zemeckis movie. Filled with heart and a big emphasis on experimental special effects. Curious as always
As someone who watches and have all the episodes of Robin Wright on soap opera Santa Barbara (1984-1988), I think her de-aging in this movie is really good.
I know soaps get a bad rap, but "Santa Barbara" *killed* it with the casting. There were so many incredible actors on that show!
I watch santa barbara episodes in your channels and you're right. In this movie Robin Wright looks exactly the same way she looked in the 80s and 90s.
robin wright is a great actress. I'm happy she's doing this great movies now and she's not stuck in some soap opera.

Did anyone else that owns the graphic novel immediately grab it off their shelf and compare the shots? It's brilliant. Can't wait!
People who don't know about the graphic novel: "wtf, it's A Ghost Story"
People who do: I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DID IT
I don't own it but I immediately went to the library to get it 😂
Everyone keeps talking about the de-aging process, but I’m more compelled by the framing device. Just as I was compelled by the graphic novel it’s based on. To have a static shot in that format is one thing - it can be expected. To have it in a wide release, over 90 minute, big budget studio film is daring. I’m really looking forward to this.
I'm not happy with Zemeckis making this movie. He's a has-been. He was great when he made Cast Away. But that was 24 years ago

@@traydaniel0403 Obviously Forrest Gump is great. But Zemeckis hasnt matured as a filmmaker since Cast Away. He's playing with CGI without trying to learn any new storytelling techniques. All he has to do is study other filmmakers. But hes being arrogant and stubborn, and his movies seem to be stuck in the past technologically because of it.

That's sweet. ❤

Not every Zemeckis film is golden, but you can't deny that he gave us all-time classics (like Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?), and he tries to make something outside the box.
