I am new to using an embroidery machine. I bought one on an impulse buy one year ago. I am still learning how to use it. I purchased Sew What Pro because I thought it would help me with my designs. I am not tech savvy so I was having a hard time figuring it out. I found your tutorials on RUclips and I am learning so much. Thanks to you, I now know how to do nap tack stitches. Let's face it, thanks to you, I now know Sew What Pro basics!! I like the way you explain things. I will continue to watch and learn! Thanks again :)
I know this is an old video but still learning from you. I laughed when you had something stuck to you reminded me of my oldest son in middle school I washed his coat with other clothes and his sisters panties was clung to the inside, when he took it off at school it stuck to his back. Poor kid was embarrassed! Oh the horrible memories I have that my kids in their 40s wish their mother would forget. Hahaha!
thank you for answering my question on what is a knock down stitch and how do you use it on SWP/ I really appreciate your soft voice and easy clarification. thanks Eve.
OMG! I have just spent 3 days trying to find info on this! Should have known to come to your videos. Thank you so much for all you do. I love the way you teach.
I love how you take your time teaching. Your the one I turn to for all my videos needs lol I have embrilliance essentials and wanna know everything I can get from this software
Don't have SWP but learned a few things that I could use. I have PE Designs and can't seem to find anything pertaining to any of the knockdown stitches but I can take what I learned from you and make it work.Thank you,Betty
So all I hear about is the software Embrillance, now I gotta look into the SEWWHAT PRO software also.>>You did a Great Job explaining the Knock Down Stitch ! TY, Sheila
You always answer questions on every project I need to work on. Thank you for all your time and patience it takes to give you viewers the information we need. You are the best!
Hi, I am new to embroidering, I watch your videos to learn many things. Thanks to you, I feel like I know what I am doing. I will continue to watch. You are a very good teacher, and I thank you. Have a great holiday.
Thank you for your great videos. I always check your videos if I'm having any trouble because I know you can walk me through the issue with one of your videos. You are so easy to understand and explain things so well that a newbie like me can understand them. Can't thank you enough!
Thankyou so so much for this video! I have been using Sew What Pro for just over a year now and its one thing ive always struggled with when embroidering onto towels and fleeces. This has helped me so much and how thorough you explain it is fab. Big 👍 from me Thanks again xx
Thank you so much! I could not find this information anywhere.. and here you are with a GREAT and in-depth tutorial. As a newbie machine embroiderer, I really enjoy all of your videos and have learned so much. Thank you again!
You explained the technique quite well. I was able to understand the principle and apply it to the software program that I use -- this was something I couldn't do before. Please keep doing the tuts for us. Great job!
Good day Ms. Booty! Wonderful Tutorial! Excellent delivery! Thank you so much, my first time ever hearing about the tack down stitch! Thank you for sharing your time and talent! So helpful and your tutorial help remove anxiety. I am a newbie. Just invested in machine in September! Peace and Blessing!
Eve! I am so thankful I found your video's, as I recently purchased a brother SE625 and am new to machine embroidery! You are an amazing teacher and I have already learned so much!! One question relating to this video, do you change your needle when stitching the letters onto the knockdown surface, or do you use the same needle for both? Is that needle size 75/11? Thank you for your answer!
Hi Eve and viewers, what an adorable happy little baby. God bless thank you so much for the technique demonstration. If you don’t mind saying. How much does the sew it pro software cost. Thank you
Thank you, thank you!!!! This video is so helpful to me as I am still fairly a newbie to machine embroidery and Sew What Pro!! You do a wonderful job teaching us fellow embroiders!!!!
I have been wanting to ask you about tack down stitches on SWP! Thank you thank you! I have a couple projects on minky that I put on hold until I could figure something out! So excited! I love your tutorials!
I have a different digitizing program that has nice bells and whistles but ... you sure make me consider Sew What Pro. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Sew What Pro is a lot of fun! It's quite simple to use, and easy on the pocketbook!!! However, I am a firm believer in what my PawPaw always said... "Use what you got!" LOL!
I just found you while searching for information on using the Brother SE400, which i purchased while watching your informative video on the machine! Thank you so much for the information!! I have watched and saved SEVERAL of your videos now. I have to tell you that you are such an awesome instructor/educator/teacher/mentor!! Thank you so very much for your service to us! I plan to continue watching your videos, with your humor and great personality making them even more enjoyable to watch!! Now, I wanted to share with you that I clicked on the link to join your e-newsletter; however, it is no longer working. Do you happen to have another link, or another option for me to join your e-newsletter mailing list? Thank you in advance!!
Great tutorial! You are a wonderful teacher. You speak so clearly that is easy for me to understand everything, as you know English is my second language and I've being learning a lot of new vocabulary related to sewing and embroidery 😊 Thank you for all the time you spend making this lessons for us 🙏🏼
Just learning how to do this...so after you have maybe stitched a rectangle in knockdown stitches, do you then center your name, monogram, etc in the rectangle? How do you do that? Will you have to rehoop?
Thankyou so much. You have saved me money. I was going to buy new software until I saw your video. I have subscribed and can't wait to see what else you have to show me. Thanks again. Leah from Aus.
Hello Eve, I learn quite a bit from your videos ; thanks. I am however having a hard time on adding a knockdown stitch while working on a repetitional hoop. I can’t figure out how to be able to save both the monogram and the knock down stitch at the same time. Please help me with this issue. Thank you.
Well, you will have to cut the knockdown stitch where the repositional splits are, and for the monogram, you can not keep the letters joined into one color stop. 👍🏽
I stumbled on your channel and am so glad I did. My Brother PE770 just arrived yesterday and I am excited about starting. You are definitely going to be my first resource for anything I need to know/learn. This video is fantastic! Would this work for a plush baby blanket? Would you still need to use the wash away stabilizer on the front when using this knockdown stitch technique? Any help Eve would be much appreciated.
I’m so impressed with you and this video, I’m subscribing! You are a cutie pie, and I feel like we could be friends if we lived next door! I’m very new to embroidery. I have a Bernina 780 and have to get out all the manuals and notes each time to re-remember what I’m doing. I’m scared. (I had a Viking Rose, but gave it away to my worthy daughter-in-law who was hand stitching monograms for her children’s Christmas gifts.)So I’m hoping to learn all I can from you on digitizing, transferring, hooping, stabilizers, and all there is to know. Thanks for your RUclips channel. Looking forward to wondering around your channel and learning to all there is to know. You’re a RUclips natural and just darling! ❤️♥️❤️ you! ~a
You should have been a teacher, you explain everything in great details. I like that, Faith, lol 😊. This was a great video, SWP needs to give you 10% on every sale because you always advertise them, which I will purchase 😀. Yep Mrs. Eve, you are during a great job 😃😆 love your videos . Thank you
+Lorraine Cotton Thank you! Yes, faith was stuck in my head so I went with it. Sew What Pro allows me to sell the software on my website now 😊! When you are ready, the link is in the description. 👍🏽

I have a big question so I did a simple knock down stitch and I saved it to my pes 4x4 file which was perfect til i put it to the test and again it started digging a whole in my material?? I did every thing that was stated on the The Baby Booty video? also note i am still using the trial of sew what pro? for some reason the program is not telling my machine to move?? this is the second time this has happened to me. ( the second time i tried to use the program) the first was a word but I was told that sew what pros fronts are not set up to work I get that but I am suppose to be able to do a knockdown Help
Question please...i would put tear away stabilizer on the back of towel and use the water soluble stabilizer on top before the knock down and actual embroidery design correct? Or do I only use the water soluble stabilizer on the embroidery design?
If you are referring to hoop group items, they are on my website TheBabysBooty. Com. If you are asking about having custom items made, those are never listed because everything is made to customer specifications. You would have to email me TheBabysBooty@gmail.com.
You should not be able to see any wrinkles in your stabilizer nor fabric. And your fabric (in most instances) should be stabilized with cutaway stabilizer for maximum stability

thank you for answering my question on what is a knock down stitch and how do you use it on SWP/ I really appreciate your soft voice and easy clarification. thanks Eve.

Great video! I just wanted to add that SewWhat Pro has since added shapes to their nap tack stitches.
Yes they have! Woot! Thanks for the update!
Thank you Eve. I have not tried that yet in SWP yet, but I will now.
Love this video Eve! Did you use the water soluble after the knock down, but before the design stitch out?
Hi Wanda! You don't use Water soluble with this method. This is supposed to eliminate the need for WSS. 🙂
You're welcome! Let me know what design you make with this!

Another great one, Eve! Thank you so much!
Another great video. Have never heard of this before. Thanks for sharing!!!

It will certainly work with a plush blanket! Anytime you use the knockdown stitches, you do not need the WSS on the top. 🙂

Awesome!!! I loved it! Thank you so much 😊
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it. 👍 Thanks for letting me know.
when you knock down do you use wss and or tearaway
Thank you!
You're welcome!
You crack me up! Love the hard hat. 👷
Hi Eve, is it necessary to use a particular thread weight? I've seen 80 weight is best for knockdown stitches 🤔
Good video thanks
This is amazing! Is this similar to a design called 'Embossing'? Thank you so much for all the tutorials you do on SWP!
Peggy Bowe embossing does knock down stitches in a specific pattern to create the embossing effect.
I'm curious what type of thread you suggest for knock down stitches? Thanks
I use the same color as the background fabric, and 40 wt. embroidery thread.
Can you update your video for sew what pro which offers other borders in the program. Found this out after I watched your video and purchased knockdown designs elsewhere as I didn't know I already had it.
I will look into doing that.
Where do you make or get the patches?
I don't have SWP. Can you possible tell me the density and stitch length so I can make TD stitches manually? Thank you for this. I think it's a great idea and wish I had known about it when I made a few minky blankets!
The tack down stitches are automatically done, so I don't have the density nor stitch length. If I come across information on how to set those for tack down purposes, I will let you know! 👍
I second what Lorraine Cotton had to say, word for word.
Thank you for your great video!!!
You are welcome!!! Thank you for taking the time to watch our video!
Credit where credit is do, keep on going you are doing great!!
Question please...i would put tear away stabilizer on the back of towel and use the water soluble stabilizer on top before the knock down and actual embroidery design correct? Or do I only use the water soluble stabilizer on the embroidery design?
+Bonnie Edmundson only the tearaway stabilizer. No need for the water soluble with the knock down stitches method! 👍🏽
AWEEESOME!!!
Where do you list/sell your items?
If you are referring to hoop group items, they are on my website TheBabysBooty. Com. If you are asking about having custom items made, those are never listed because everything is made to customer specifications. You would have to email me TheBabysBooty@gmail.com.
Thanks
You're welcome! 🤗 Thanks for watching our videos!
So helpful Eve , thank you so much ****Marian****
Could you help me with when I add my nap stitches there is a small blank area in the middle of my nap stitches and designs?
I don't find this option on the free version - is that not the DEMO version you mention?
+G wenna Doty It is indeed available on the demo. Under "tools" in the menu bar.
I got it to work - not sure what I had done wrong at first !! Thanks for the video!!
+G wenna Doty Woot! Happy Embroidering!
Does Sew What Pro work with a MAC?
Yes, but you have to use a windows emulator to run it.
I do not see this option in my software???
Hello I have a question how can I make sure that the fabric is stable it looks like my stitch is off
You should not be able to see any wrinkles in your stabilizer nor fabric. And your fabric (in most instances) should be stabilized with cutaway stabilizer for maximum stability
@@TheBabysBooty ok I’m using minky blanket and it had no wrinkles 😫also I used wash away water soluble stabilizer should I use it?
You need to put a mesh cutaway underneath and water solvable on top.
