I am very new to anything sewing. My first project was to monogram some towels and I ran into all of the bobbin thread issues you thoroughly described. It has taken me three weeks to figure out what you have so clearly presented in your video. Thank you very much.
Very new to embroidery I have a new SE1900 that I had just sitting for over a year now and just recently did my very first stitch that I'm very proud of. This video was very informative in helping me learn more. Thank you 😊
I've always wondered if the bobbin thread should match the embroidery thread, so thank you for clearing that up! Your explanation of when to match the bobbin thread was really helpful.
Thank you for explaining bobbin thread. I am new to embroidery and was seeing a lot of information on using white and black bobbin thread. I was thinking I wanted to use colors that match as well to make sure the design looked good on both sides and also didn't show through. Definitely, will try colors now.
This video was super helpful to me since I’m a beginner and I simply love the idea of embroidery. I had no idea where that bottom bobbin thread was going but now I know and to also consider the color I use when I do start embroidering
This is the only video I could find on the topic! I'm making a quiet book and sewing together two pages that are two different colors. I didn't know if I could use a different color on the bobbin. But apparently I can! Thank you!
I've been working on a black coffin pouch with black details, and no matter how I adjust the tension or double up on stabalizers my bobbin shows..this is just an easier solution for that project. 🤣 thanks for sharing!
I would use the same color. It might a pain in the back, but I rather have the best apprentice and results. Thank you Miss Eve for taking time out to teach us.
Thank you so much! I know absolutely nothing about embroidery except that I love it and decided to purchase a Brother PE800 today, you just answered my first question.
You are very welcome! Congrats on your new machine! If you would like to, you can feel free to share your projects that you've worked on in the Hoop Group!
I bought my first embroidery machine and I love you and your channel. I plan on watching all of your videos. I really learn a lot and so far I understand your instructions which is key. Ty
This was a great video!! However, do I have to worry about the weight of the bobbin thread? I know you can't get all the colors in 60w, which is what I thought the bobbin weight should be??
I keep buying fabric and Am going for sewing class at jo-ann fabric . much to learn and an so gald to have you on line.to keep learning.thank you.get some sleep.
I have one more question please. Concerning embroidering terrycloth towels, can I use a tear away stabilizer instead of cutaway? Cutaway makes it ugly on the back in my opinion. I know to use water soluble on the front of course. Thanks for reading and hope someone will answer. I just did my first bird today on a tshirt and I am hooked. Towels, here I come!!
I use white bobbins (or black) depending upon the project IF it's a regular project. I only use the same thread as the top when I am doing free standing lace.
Just getting into machine embroidery and wonder what is the best brand of thread to use and what type--rayon or polyester? Thank you for the video. It helped me with some questions.
This video was so helpful! I am new to embroidering and need to learn as much as I can, and you do an awesome job with explaining and taking your time through the tutorial. I would love just to sit under your knowledge and learn
I just really love your videos ! You seem down to earth ! I’d give anything to have a business and a channel but I don’t know I ever truly will but it would be so nice !
Girl, I am having all kinds of trouble. I use white bobbin thread, red on the top and I have changed and went from 1 all the way up and it is still pulling the white and no red.. if that makes sence. I got this used but the lady coulsnt figure it out and gave up. I cant figure it out. I am using everything that came with the machine If I do a project with different colors , it will take too much time and headache to change out bobbin colors.. hope you canhelp
what kind of stabilizer should you use. I always use cut a way due to the wash and wear emb. rule.Let me know your choice and why. I do towels quite often.
Can you please tell me if I would need to buy a walking foot if I want to make a soup/bowl cozy? I have an SE600 Embroidery Sewing machine. From what I have read if I want to hold layers (top, bottom, and interfacing, etc) or bulky fabrics together, I should have a walking foot. Thank you!
Hi Eve! Thanks for the great video! My question is if using a 40 wt embroidery thread, do you need a 60 weight bobbin thread? That can get pricey if you have to buy 2 threads to have them match! What do you suggest for type of thread to use in the bobbin. Currently I'm using prewound Janome bobbins.
Hello thanks for your videos. I am new to sewing and embroidering. One of the issues I am having is every time I go to embroidering my thread and bobbin gets jammed in to machine. Do you have any idea what can cause this. I have a Brothers PE 1900. Thank you
Thank You for your video. I am having a problem embroidery free standing lace I need to use bobbin to match top thread it is not embroidery very well It is puckering when I wash The stabilizer away, and do u know why the thread always is darker when done?
I am curious about how far does the embroider thread last on a spool? It looks as if each designs takes a lot of thread. I am not an embroider, yet. Just doing research.
Under normal circumstances I use 60wt pre-wound bobbins. However, 40wt can be used in a pinch and is required for certain projects, like freestanding lace.
Nesting generally indicates threading issues up top. Rethread with a completely different spool, change your needle to a new one, and try again. Be sure to clean out all stray threads in the bobbin area first
+Restorednhighlyfavored777 I use mainly Madeira thread. I haven't had issues from using other thread brands. Try adjusting your tension when you use another brand... Just do the tension test before sewing your actual design. 👍🏽
Hi Eve, is the bobbin thread different from the top thread, meaning winding your bobbin with the top thread? Or is it different color bobbin thread? I only seen black and white that is actually bobbin thread. I tried to us the top thread in my Brother pe500 and my singer quintet for the bobbin, and I had problems. if you know where I can get multiple colors for actually bobbin thread, it would be awesome.
+Dorothy Brown Hi! In most instances the top embroidery thread is a 40wt thread. When you want to match the bobbin thread, yes, you can use the 40wt top thread to fill your bobbin. You could try lowering the top tension a smidge to see if that eliminates your problem. A side note, the bobbin thread I use is always 60wt when white or black. But when color, it's 40wt top thread

Thanks Eve for explaining this to me! God Bless!
Hi I been looking all over RUclips for that answer and it seem like you have this video only. Thanks
That was a great video thank you, i did wonder if i should use black or white bobbins only and now i know .
It is only a matter of preference. 👍🏽 Enjoy!
I just started embroidering. Thank you so much for making these helpful videos!

I would use the same color. It might a pain in the back, but I rather have the best apprentice and results. Thank you Miss Eve for taking time out to teach us.
You're welcome! I enjoy having matching thread in my bobbin quite often!
@@TheBabysBooty I had that problem. 1. The tension isn't right or too loose and or 2. The threads are tangled in the exchange sewing.
Can I use the same embroidery thread on the top and then wind in the bobbin? They are not the same weight so I wasn’t sure.
Thanks
Idk why I'm up at 3am watching this but glad I did. Thanks!!

Where do you get colors of bobbin weight for embroidery?
I load the bobbins myself with the threads. You can check out allstitch.com for bobbin threads.
