I love you period! After using Sew Art demo from S & S Computing, I didn't bother going for SWP demo, I just bought it and I LOVE IT. It is so simple to understand and use. I love the integration of Sew Write in the software. Have used the Sew Write demo and I love it. Purchasing it soon. I believe it has like 91 fonts more now. I just love S & S Computing softwares. The creators/designers make them so user friendly that I don't bother looking elsewhere for other extra useful softwares for embroidery.
Im very new to embroidery. I figured out how to digitize a logo however it had TONSSSS of jump stitches. I followed another one of your videos regarding editing stitches and figured out how to remove what I needed to remove. It was a total of 30 stops. Then went to save.... and I couldnt. OMG!!!!! Im purchasing right now! Your videos are amazing. Thank you for sharing.

I was wondering if you could tell me what settings I should use if I have the Brother Dream machine XV8500D .I have not been able to find all the hoops sizes. You would load the design onto the machine, drop in your bobbin, and thread the machine. Then after you hoop your fabric and put the hoop on the machine you will press the green go button. To load the machine with the design, you will need check your manual because different machines load designs different ways. Some use thumb drives and some use direct cables.
The embroidery machine CAN be affordable, but you have to honestly review your budget to see if you can swing the payments. If not, the smaller machines will work as well!
Hi Eve, I love your tutorials . I just set up my brand new PE 800 today. I have one question about the Demo, it says it only saves the first 3 color changes. Once I edit and create my design and save it with the When I open my saved pattern it only shows the first 3 colors. Is that the way its going to stitch out?
Hello..I purchased the Sew What Pro program. When I bring my design in it only shows 4 colors and the design has 11 colors. Any idea why the program doesn't show all 11 colors?

Sorry for the delay in responding, Sherry! The full version is the Demo version. You would just unlock it with the registration code you will receive via email after your purchase. The program "Sew Iconz" is how you would be able to see the thumbnails of your embroidery files. It is available as a demo on my website as well.
Hello, I am just planning to buy an embroidery machine and don’t have any idea which program I will need. I will need embroidery to do customers logos ( every time different and only ones ) and embroidery or appliqué of name big size letters. This is for boxing shorts, they have their name on the front and back. Please can you suggest with programs I need to look for to digitise the logo and applique. Hi Victoria! I was on vacation so I apologize for the delay. My suggestion will depend on a few factors. You can get 30 day trials to both programs. The first is Sew Art. That is a small yet super affordable program that works great for beginner embroidery. Check out Clever Dog Designs for videos on how the program works. A more expensive option is Wilcom digitizer. Check out John Deer for information on that program and how it works!
Can I import finished svg logos and convert them with "sew what pro" to embordery files or only in "sew art" ? I don't want to buy 2 Programms. Thanks for any answers 👍

How do you center the letters of each word in Sew What Pro? For Instance, I have three words, one under the other. But I can't get the letters centered correctly so they don't look weird.

If I have PES files I have purchased but want to group multiple together (monogram letters) can I upload those files on this software to rearrange them?
I have alphabets that I purchased. I group them together to create a monogram & saved it on my USB. When I plugged my USB in my Brother PE 780D, I can't find it. Hi. I am a semi knowledgeable embroidery gal. I have had now 2 Babylock machines and was sold the Palette program. Everything was fine UNTIL my son bought me a new computer. When I went to reload the software to my new computer....no luck. Called the Palette folks and guess what....my version with all its upgrades was not good on a 64 bit computer. It would only work on a 32 bit. To get to my long winded point....in order to use the new computer - I had to buy a NEW Version of no less than $1000. That was my local dealer's cost. If I bought it straight fm palette - it would be over $1500. Needless to say - I had to find an old computer and it SUCKS. My husband got himself a new laptop that will become our traveling computer. I want to take my embroidery machine on the road in our camper but don't want to extra weight and room hogging old computer, monitor, etc., I want to get your trial version to see if I can run it thru hub's laptop b4 buying. Anybody else experience this problem?
Well, SWP works on 64bit just fine. That's the version I use. I have never heard of Palette, but it does suck when you can't use the program on newer computer equipment, especially after investing so much! Wowzers!
Do I need Microsoft word to use sew what pro? I purchased font to use! however, once I download the demo will I be able to use it.. I just purchased a new computer and haven't purchased Microsoft word yet.. thank you..
No. You do not need Word to use SWP. You can use an embroidery font (as long as it's not bx format) in SWP that you have purchased. The demo will only let you work with 3 color stops though... so keep that in mind as you use the program. Check out my "sew what Pro demo" video for help.
+linda sherman I do not. There is a link on the sew what pro page under the download SWP for Mac button. If you click where it says "Requires an emulator" than you will be taken to a page with emulator links.

Can I use the patch features in the trial. Trying decide the best software to make a patch.
From what I recall, all features are available in the demo, the save feature is whats limited to 3 color stops.
Wish I had of watched this 2 weeks ago at the beginning of my trail! LOL I've been super frustrated with the max of 3 color stops in the demo version.

Yes and No. It is limited when it comes to creating designs. What you would do well with is Sew Art. That is the sister program to Sew What Pro.

Not in Sew What Pro. Sew Art converts logos but not sure if it digitizes from svg. I will have to look it up when I get to the studio.

You click on open for the first letter, then you choose ctrl+i on your keyboard

Yes, Sew What Pro is definitely limited to a Windows based environment.

Sew What Pro is for editing. Sew Art is if you want to make your own embroidery designs from pictures.

Would you ungroup them or do you need to do something else.

Be sure that the letters are not too big for the hoop size you're using. Also double check to ensure your file is saved as either PES or DST.
And you have been successful importing other designs from your usb?
Don't eliminate the 4th color....you need that shading so you just make 2 of the greens be the same thread color and join them. Much better result.
It wasn't for the design, just showing people how they can eliminate colors to stitch a pattern.
Is the 3 color stops the only limit with the demo version vs the full paid version?
No ma'am. It is still limited to the 30 days, and from what I understand there is a limit to the number of saves as well.

The software does show a computer generated preview of how the final stitchout will look. You select "show texture" in the menu options.

It would only work on a 32 bit. To get to my long winded point....in order to use the new computer - I had to buy a NEW Version of no less than $1000. That was my local dealer's cost. If I bought it straight fm palette - it would be over $1500. Needless to say - I had to find an old computer and it SUCKS. My husband got himself a new laptop that will become our traveling computer. I want to take my embroidery machine on the road in our camper but don't want to extra weight and room hogging old computer, monitor, etc., I want to get your trial version to see if I can run it thru hub's laptop b4 buying. Anybody else experience this problem?
Well, SWP works on 64bit just fine. That's the version I use. I have never heard of Palette, but it does suck when you can't use the program on newer computer equipment, especially after investing so much! Wowzers!

This program doesn't come with pre-loaded designs with the exception of borders.

I need to be able to reduce font sizes to approx. 1 or 1/2 inch. Is this software capable of doing this?
Yes it is. Up at the menu selection choose "tools" then Resize patern.
Do I need Microsoft word to use sew what pro? I purchased font to use! however, once I download the demo will I be able to use it.. I just purchased a new computer and haven't purchased Microsoft word yet.. thank you..
No. You do not need Word to use SWP. You can use an embroidery font (as long as it's not bx format) in SWP that you have purchased. The demo will only let you work with 3 color stops though... so keep that in mind as you use the program. Check out my "sew what Pro demo" video for help.

I use the program Sew Iconz. That program allows you to see thumbnails of your designs.

+linda sherman I do not. There is a link on the sew what pro page under the download SWP for Mac button. If you click where it says "Requires an emulator" than you will be taken to a page with emulator links.
