I'm 75 and you remind me of my younger self. I was wild and crazy and nothing bothered me. Every problem had an easy and simple solution. Every day was an adventure. Life appeared to be infinite in all ways. It was a wonderful time. And that's where you are now on your journey through life. You are a fine and talented young man. I wish you well in all you may do.
Sir, Warm regards I wish i can be like you both, i just watch such videos & admire the amount of work , time , energy & $$$ needed to get the pleasure of it. Wish all the best to him & you. thank you
I am 69 years old 36 years heavy equipment mechanic, worked on boats in Ft. Lauderdale I live in Lake City, Florida now if you ever get a project and need a hand I would share my experience, and knowledge. Do not expect any pay, just the fun of doing what I enjoy also enjoy doing... getting Dirty!! Great Videos you rock youngster!!!
All I can say is WOW. You got it going on Gus. I just turned 65 overweight with a bum knee and you just took me back to my younger days. I so wish I could go back but I can't so I'm living my days thru your videos. Keep having fun and never look back.
I'm 65 too but fortunately fairly healthy. My boat is a Prarie 36 that I've been fixing up so wife and I can do the Great Loop. Ya do what ya can to make a life.
My 85 yr old Dad is AMAZED at your knowledge and how hard working you are at your age!! CONGRATULATIONS!! He loves watching u!!! Thank u. Waiting for new updates!!
I have no clue what kind of price you paid for that beautiful Hatteras, but as handy as you seem to be with everything, you picked a winner. The fact that it has been repowered with those 2 awesome engines makes is very valuable and then add in all the other neat things they added to it and that may be the buy of a life time. A 50' Hatteras puts you in some nice company and a step up in the boating community. They are well built with nice features and beautiful wood. I wish you the best of luck with it and safe boating!!!
Should be quite easy to break up for scrap. Sell the engines and other components for profit. Fibreglass can be cut to pieces with grinder or metal reciprocating saw.
You're the most amazing young man I have ever found. Wow!! You deserve that beauty of a boat. I'm a 66 year old lady in Cape Town who has been following you on your travels and daily life for a while now and I am still loving your video's and looking forward to see what you do in future. I have a vision of you being very successful. With your personality and skills the sky is your limit!!! I just LOVE what you do. Tx for sharing your life with us. Lots of love and blessings from South Africa.♥️🇿🇦🥂
After seeing the hurricane damage on the boat, most people would run, and run fast. You, “this isn’t that bad, I can fix this” You’re a beacon of hope for the Young and Intrepid go-getters. Nice job!
I don't know how you do it, Gus... but your optimizum and enthusiasm can't be beat! 👏 Good luck with your new-2-u boat! 🛥 Casey's a KEEPER. 😘🙈 Old guy approves! 👍⚓️🛟
It does my heart good to see a young man who has his sh*t together. Man, you don’t even know what lady, or can’t mean. Apparently, there are a lot who agree with me. You’re down to earth and haven’t a pretentious bone in your body. I look forward to your next video. I don’t have much but set up a Patreon page and I’ll support you.
I was on the edge of my seat, saying to the tv, yes gonna say it's been repowered, i just know it cause he's so excited. And 💥 you won the lottery! Kick ass boat! Been watch you since the beginning, you keep me planted. Keep em coming. 👊👊👍👍🤘🤘
Thanks for the update! Looks like the hurricane was a blessing in disguise. Easy on the Albin and enough to make the Hatteras affordable. Best of luck - looking forward to the journey!
So happy for you! These are the dreams I had at your age but you are actually living them. A classic Hatteras!!!, She couldn't have fallen into better hands...
Dude you are amazing. A very rare breed in this day and age. You work hard for everything you have and deserve the best. With such a positive attitude and mindset you will go places and live the dream. I hope your channel blows up. There are a lot of people that loves this content and live through you. Good luck
Dude, just found your channel. Love that you are not afraid to just do it. I also love the water and have had boats since I was young. Your having more enjoyment than most people with 15M boats.
Congrats! Your "tank" description is absolutely spot on, there was no shortage of "fiberglass trees" when they built her and Jack Hargrave was a genius designer.
@@ralphholiman7401 Jack Hargrave used to test laminate samples by putting a square of the laminate on a couple of pieces of wood driving his car over them. Willis Slane (founder of Hatteras) used to shoot at them with a handgun!
Awesome Gus, can't go wrong with a Hatteras especially with a pair of 12 valves. You gotta hit me up when you're in Stuart. I want to show you all about additive manufacturing on a boat. You could be a floating custom parts store wherever you go !!
Thanks for the fun videos. This old NH boy (Keene) is happy to see you NH youngsters still know how to work hard and party hard. Best wishes for success on this new project.
If I was your age again, I would be doing exactly what you are doing right now. Very inspiring. I have a 1973 Bertram 42 flush deck that's my pride and joy. But, I got into that kind of boating later in life. I shouldn't have waited. But, one of the things that sold us on our boat seven years ago, was the fact that it had just been repowered with brand new Yanmar 370 hp diesels. New engines is huge.
So good to see and hear from you Brother. Lots of changes and I LOVE the NEW BOAT!! Life gets us all crazy busy dude and I am just glad to see the new video my Man!! Look forward to seeing more!! Take care, be safe, and keep on keeping on Dude!!
You really know how to tell a story and keep us interested. When I saw an hour video, I said no way I’m watching this whole thing. Here I am at midnight watching the last of it. Great job and best of luck. Happy Ours comes out of the water end of month for some much needed Hurricane repairs also. Thanks for catching us up on your escapades. Where you at now?
You two will probably pass each other on the ICW one day, or maybe stay in the same marina and have docktails? Or maybe meet in Coinjock for prime rib??

It’s amazing to me how someone so old can know so little about anything.
