Hope you don't mind that I reminded Freddie to get you some samples for the show when he came to my shop in London 6 weeks ago. I may have also told the good people at the English Distillery last week too. They've got some interesting bottlings these days and they don't mind at all during visits if you try the new make.

Hi JR. I don't mind at all. Thanks for mentioning me and the show, it's very much appreciated.

Great review. I always like these non-whisky diversions and I do like my Cognac and Armagnac too. Shame about the abv. I'm afraid it has to be said. It's a game changer for me, especially considering the prices.

Hi. WT. Thanks for watching and commenting! It needs Indie bottlers like Hermitage Cognac to bottle at 46% and then hope it has a trickle down effect.

I'm a new subscriber and I hope you take this as a compliment, but you remind me of Ralfy.

What is the significance of 46%?

Without typing an essay, it is generally believed that is the lowest abv you can bottle at to avoid chill filtering and thus stripping out some of the stuff that adds to the character of a spirit. Some distillers have bottled at around 43% without filtering however.
