Pleased you enjoyed the 2023 Festival release - a fortuitous double dram for you in the end!
Thanks for the overall review - honest and forthright as ever 👍

😁 Chris releases one of his annual, guaranteed, big viewing review bombs. It's Springbank time. Well, the peaty version anyhow. Unfortunately, fancy Longrow is a dim and distant memory unless I visit the distillery. I used to love the old Longrow 14, enjoyed the odd 18 and managed to get the Red Malbec. Today, like many, I'm reduced to buying a bottle of NAS. Fortunately, I seem to like it more than most because it's the only Springbank that is vaguely purchasable. However, it's great to get a tasting like this. That Tokaji barrel was a scream. Cheers Chris. Great review as always. WT

Where else can we go for good honest comments like “that’s a car crash of a whisky “!!
    Keep it up Chris!

Great review Chris. I am a big fan of Longrow, and have many expressions - though only 2 of those you presented today. Some that I have had are really amazing, but all are at least interesting and enjoyable. As always - thanks for your work!

Chris, great range of bottlings. Ive only had the Longrow Red 15 year Pinot Noir from a couple of years ago. Absolutely love those red berry and fruit notes with the peat. Nice and thick texture.

Don't mind me, just one of those uncivilized colonials across the pond being more than a bit jealous of the sheer amount of whisky you have available to you in the UK that we never even hear of. Great review and thanks for putting this out there.

We don't have this stuff on our side of the pond either. We used to before Springbank became an official religion but that's a few years back. The only Longrow your average whisky nutcase can buy is the NAS.

Somethings gone wrong with the sherrywood! It was nowhere near that colour from memory!!! must have labeled it up wrong - i reckon from those notes its a 25 year old speyside from bartels

Hey Ian. Thanks for providing so many samples for Chris’s outstanding reviews. I think you may have recommended him to me some years ago during a pandemic vPub and I’ve been hooked ever since! He’s really one of the best palates available with this level of precise and informative tasting that I can’t understand why his channel doesn’t blow up, at least for the more serious nerds. Maybe it’s the need to avoid the FOMO of not living near Scotland? He makes me desperately want to retire there!

@@marclambert8596 if @Chris recommends a whisky i'll buy as i trust his palate. A great independent voice who speaks as he finds. What I like about the wee shop is he tastes most of the stuff he sells - although that is become more difficult. Its a great visit if ever in Nottingham :)
