Or why gods are called immortal, even though other powerful beings can kill them too. For example, you can kill Thor just by beating him until he dies. This was one of my absolute favorite movies as a kid. It's kind of dated now, especially the cgi, but it's still very entertaining and holds a special place in my heart.
It didn't overdo it I find with the CGI and I think they used some pretty good practical effects in this film. E.g. the vines from Layla's powers entangling the Pennys.
The issue with Royal Pain is that when she was a student back in the 70's technology wasn't advanced nor available enough for technopathy to be considered a practical superpower, so she was always underappreciated and shunned as a sidekick. Despite her genius intellect, people only judged her by her apparently useless power. I liked this movie as well, I've always thought it had potential to become a full Harry-Potter-like saga.

What they need to do is introduce Big Hero 6 into the MCU. Because they actually are from Marvel comics. In fact, the first time I saw them was when Spider-Man needed help to save the world from Doc Ock.
Only one problem, since Kelly Preston is now gone, what would we do about Jetstream? Still, I have been wanting Sky High to return in some way, either sequel movie or tv series. But given how Disney and Disney+ has been doing follow-ups, what with Marvel or Lucasfilms, maybe that may not be the best move.
This movie was so good at the time! I can't really watch it again without cringing at so many parts... but I am so happy to see people reacting to this movie!
Sky High to me is definitely the most underrated superhero movies ever. Bruce Campbell is also hilarious and awesome in anything I've seen him in, and I love the powers being so random, simple, weird, or all three. Edit: and looking back, some of the cgi still holds up pretty well (it doesn't look real, but it looks fun). And Tom Kenny being in the movie for about a minute is just hilarious.

"What powers would I want?" same answer to "what three wishes [from the Genie] I'd want": simply Omniscence, Omnipotence, and Omnisophence; But, the key is, they have to be acquired AT THE EXACT SAME TIME. So often people wish for those three [or similar] but ask for it piecemeal, and thusly overbalance and fail. Too much power or too much knowledge (ok, I honestly can't think of someone "Too Wise"...)

The principal saying she's not wonder woman at the end. Was Linda Carter who played the 1st live action Wonder Woman in the 70s TV show. Love that line at end, even though I disagree. She will always be Wonder Woman to me.

I can't believe that the bus driver is from the movie super troopers. First, he doesn't movie for Disney and then he goes to broken lizard and does movies like super troopers the dukes of Hazzard beer wars films like that. I just can't believe that's him
I have a love hate relationship with Disney regarding this movie. When I was in high school, long before this movie was made, me and some friends of mine worked on a comic. This comic involved a normal teenaged kid with Superhero Parents being sent off to summer camp with other superhero children and shenanigans ensues. As a result, we got signed to Image Comics and my best friend later worked for Marvel. When we initially got signed, we were given an option to turn our independent book into an officially licensed and turned into an actual series. Then suddenly that option was smashed by Disney's cease & desist. Turns out a very similar (almost identical) story being pitched into a movie. A year or two later this film shows up at the cinemas and needless to say I was fairly upset at what I saw. Even though it feels great so many people really loved this movie, I never went back to comics. I've seen people that love this movie wonder why this never became a franchise. Well, it's probably because it's not an original story.
And no one talks about how she literally remembers everything from before she returned to a child, and somehow expected that she could turn everyone else into kids and they would remember nothing.....
I just thought I'd let you know. The Sky High Principal played the part of Wonder Woman in the original Wonder Woman TV show. So it was cool to see her play as a superhero in another superhero movie.😁
Such a fun, underrated superhero movie, wish it became a franchise. If i could have a superpower, it would have to turning into animals, because I love animals, and it gives so many opportunities for different skills.
When you were talking about the power of time manipulation it reminded me of another early 2000s family movie by Nickelodeon that played with that idea. Give “Clockstoppers” a watch.

With the lamp post that's not flight just a strength enhanced jump as he later admits he's surprised he can fly
Edit: "did it before Hulk" Hulk has been in the comics for longer
Flash & Speed are like Bulk & Skull of this movie
You know those two bullies have always reminded me of bulk and skull from Power Rangers
That bus driver is famous for playing Farva in Super Troopers which was huge back in the early 2000’s. It’s a hilarious movie
40:53 When Lynda Carter (Principal Powers) says " Im not wonder woman, you know" ...mean while shes actual plays Wonder woman in the 1975 TV series :)
I remember this film with nostalgia The kind that made me interested in superheroes 41:49 I wish they continued the franchise in the form of an animated series with these designs
Warren Peace got the best upgrade in this whole movie ending up with the Freeze Girl.
I love all the characters in this movie. But my personal favourite has to be the coach. Bruce Campbell is brilliant as usual
This movie influenced me more than I like to admit 😂
Fun fact: Michael Angarano(Will Stronghold) was optioned to play Spiderman in the 2012 reboot.
The principal saying she's not wonder woman at the end. Was Linda Carter who played the 1st live action Wonder Woman in the 70s TV show. Love that line at end, even though I disagree. She will always be Wonder Woman to me.
This was written by the co-creators of Kim Possible, and it really shows in the dialogue and self-awareness
Sky High is one of the greatest underrated Super Hero movies ever. Sure some of the action is cheesy due to the graphics of the day, but the writing and foreshadows are epic.
I can't believe that the bus driver is from the movie super troopers. First, he doesn't movie for Disney and then he goes to broken lizard and does movies like super troopers the dukes of Hazzard beer wars films like that. I just can't believe that's him
It’s kind of like “Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters” from X-Men movies
This movie deserves more attention. I saw it when it came out and it was awesome in the theater!
My Dad, brother, and I saw this in theaters in Jerusalem, Israel when it came out. We laughed so hard with the Xbox scene!
this movie is slept on with reaction channels 😂 glad y’all watched it
my favorite super hero movie ever ❤ iconic
Watch Up, Up, and Away it has a similar premise with the main character not having superpowers but only he's family has superpowers not his friends.
I love this movie. I really wish this had a sequel.
I loved this movie when I was younger! A pleasant surprise to see a reaction to it
Bien fait Tim!
I just realized the guy who plays Zach in Sky High plays Greg in Succession.
Please watch "The Rocketeer" (1991). I think You would love this film.
Warren Peace=War and Peace. Get it? Because he has a hero mom and a villain dad.
And no one talks about how she literally remembers everything from before she returned to a child, and somehow expected that she could turn everyone else into kids and they would remember nothing.....
When the character is a cheerleader cartwheels are absolutely necessary
33:26 i thought my battery died 😂😂
This is a great movie, loved watching it when younger. Another pretty funny one is Zoom with Tim Allen.
I love this movie! I think it doesn't get enough recognition for how good it is.
If John Hughes made a super hero movie...it would look like this!
I just thought I'd let you know. The Sky High Principal played the part of Wonder Woman in the original Wonder Woman TV show. So it was cool to see her play as a superhero in another superhero movie.😁
39:16 OMG I just realized it's Kenny! How did I not realize this in my nostalgia?! xD
36:52 - 36:57 I love this reaction in this scene of movie 😂😂😂😂😂
The principal actually did play wonder woman, so when she says I'm not wonder woman at the end😂
"I'm not Wonder Woman..."
YES, YOU ARE, LYNDA CARTER!
For superpowers I’d go with, energy abilities: shooting energy and forming it into weapons, but also flight and some form of strength 💜
