You got it! Though it's all getting torn down in the next week or two to give the Fanatec CSL Cockpit a go so if I don't do a tour now, it's gonna be weeks 'til it's all back to normal again!
I'm thinking of getting a similar setup. Not sure if I've thought this over enough but I would put the rig on a floor mat to prevent noise from the ButtKicker going to the rest of the house. And I would have the PC case in a Flexispot CPU holder to reduce dust getting into the case. I would also have the large monitor on a monitor arm on the desk so I would just need to roll the cockpit closer to the desk and adjust the monitor arm. Flexispot also have a cable snake to keep the desk cables tidy - but it won't hide the spaghetti on your floor 🙂
The only glaring issue I see here is your plan with the monitor arm. Monitor arms aren’t long enough to extend the center of the monitor beyond the desk. The only way to get that use case is to put the sim rig face to face with the desk chair, but on the opposite side of the desk, like you’re on a dinner date with it. With that configuration you turn the monitor around 180 degrees, so the arm length doesn’t matter.
HOWEVER, you’ll never be able to achieve an FoV above like 50 degrees and the viewport will be far above the dashboard.
My recommendation, if you’re on a budget, is to just go VR, it’s about the same price as a monitor and mounting hardware for the rig.

It's a bit of a pain to set up and move between shots, but nowt good comes easy!

I actually used 'standby socks' once which were kept strictly OFF the floor in order to film some shoe-less Logitech videos a while back. I brush and brush and brush but there's no escape....
@dannyleeracing yoooooo , I'm not the only one I thought about having some simracing only socks (my good socks lol) my gf immediately shut it down as bonkers, can't wait to show her this comment!

I have a 49inch ultra wide single screen and that works great for me. that and having Kapps's radar bars on tells me enough when im side by side
49 inch would be sweet but I'd be SO worried about breaking it. Too many eggs in one basket, y'know?

My setup 4 years ago was comical compared to this, but the beauty of it is that you don't realise it at the time - I had a great time on a desk setup!

Good to know! The wireless element was non-negotiable for me because I was constantly getting the cable snagged switching from rig to desk. These headphones just have EVERYTHING I was looking for, and trust me when I say I'm not shy returning headphones. My previous headset was Sennheiser HD595
@dannyleeracing your video pushed me over the line. I have some Nova Pros on the way.
One other thing I'd mention, is there is a small ANC nub in the ear cone, and as the pads break in the nub can press into some people's ears. There are alternate pads (wicked cushions are what I went with) that can fix this, and be cooler to wear for long periods of times

Cable management is just a crutch for people who are too lazy to untangle cables.
