      I agree with you, I used to spend time in front of the computer 10-14 hours a day almost every day for almost 2 months. My back muscles are inflamed because I use a wooden chair and nothing supports my back. The inflammation was so severe that I could not sit down when I have meals. I told myself that I would never do that again and I won't go on a budget on chair because it was a very painful time.

    The reason that they make the edge banding larger than the width of the board is so that you can cut it down for a more professional finish... at least that's why I think they do it. Also, if you notice there is a slight chamfer on the edge of the board. You will need a router and a small chamfer bit (looks like 1/4") to get the same edging all the way around the board.

    1. The heat can affect the electronics of the monitor and its longevity.

      I got a Mac over an all-in-one desktop because i use my Mac in other places other than my desk. For example, I bring my mac to work and other areas in my house to work. A desktop is great if you game and if you see yourself only wanting to use your computer in one spot. So i would say it is up to you and what your preference is.

    Hey, clean ass setup, what legs did you use for the monitor shelf ?

    • @nickdesgn
      @nickdesgn  Год назад +1

      Appreciate it! I found a random piece of scrap wood in my garage that i cut to size and painted black lol. It's a 1'x4' that i cut in half. I knew i wanted the legs to look slim and not chunky so that was the best option for me, hope that helps

    Thanks for the video man! Really like the color choice and how clean the overall setup is, quite the vibe you got going. This will serve as inspiration for my own setup soon when I get the chance to do a makeover.

    Looks great. I just can't get my head around the idea of only 1 monitor. I currently have 3 with 1 being portrait as a dev and I still sometimes wouldn't mind a fourth. 2 would be the absolute minimum, even as a casual user

    Hi! I came across this video and I'm so glad I found it!! ❤️ I was wondering if the desk is sturdy enough for me to lean on when I'm standing. I heard from many reviewers that some affordable standing desks are wobbly when it's extended. Could you share your experiences with your desk? Thanks!!

    • @nickdesgn
      @nickdesgn  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think it depends on the height you have it at when leaning on it. Any desk will wobble, in my opinion, if it's extended past a certain point. I extend my to standing height where my arms are bent at a relaxed position and sometimes lean on it. I havent experienced any wobbles but again, maybe it could have if I had it higher. Hope that helps!

      No problem! I used a 6 and a half inch cordless Makita circular saw. Any brand will do the job@@maranatha824

    I definitely would've gone for a 1440p monitor over a 1080p, not much more expensive and significantly better resolution. Overall really good video though, music at the end was a bit loud while you were talking, but that would be my only complaint for the editing portion of things.

    Nice setup dude! However, for the work you're doing I'd try to get a better suited monitor. I don't know what type it is, but it's 1080p and for an m1 pro, I feel like you would do better with a 2-4k resolution instead. Enjoy your setup!

    What legs did you use for your monitor stand, and how did you build it? It came out really nice!

      Thanks! I found a piece of scrap wood at my house that luckily was an ideal size. Its 2 inches tall by 6 inches wide. You can easily find something like this at your local lumber store. I cut it to size and painted it black. I then wood glued it to attach it and thats it! Hopefully that helps!

    Just be careful with the Karlby top, it can damage really easily. As I found out during a PC build. Silly mistake, side panel slipped out of my fingers and the corner made a nice clean L shaped dent. Luckily it lives underneath a mouse pad.
