I could tell some people in the audience were not happy about his win, much less the movie sweeping the night, and all I could think of was "they wish they were this pure." These are the types of celebrities that us normal folk cheer on and support no matter what, we can smell the fakeness and snobbery, and this guy embodies the innocence of old Hollywood when we were all mesmerized by it. All the compliments about his personality and acting aside, he's also really good-looking and photogenic, for a 50 years old Asian man! (I'm Chinese) And his face is expressive. He really belongs to the screen
he's sooooo happy that i cant help but be infected with his happiness. in fact, all the winners this year seems so grateful and humbled to be where they are, because i can tell they have waited decades for this. this moment feels earned for them and thus, u cant help but be happy for them.

Ke Huy Quan's win for Best Actor made me as happy as Roberto Benigni's win for Best Foreign Language Film in 1999, where he jumped up on the seats & received the trophy from Italian acting legend Sophia Loren. Ke similarly had a brief reunion w/ his childhood film co-star, Harrison Ford, for his 2nd trip up for Best Film w/ all the EEAAO folks. Less tears on that round. Roberto also won Best Actor & had a fun speech for his 2nd Oscar win that night, but a dash less of a wild reaction. Both spoke of/exuded kindness & love. We need more of this in cinema!

I rooted for all EEAAO SO HARD. I'm so happy Ke won, he deserves it! His may be a supporting character but his character was the heart of the movie. And his unfiltered joy is so freaking infectious. For once, I'm just happy to see someone winning and actually are that grateful and happy.
