Watching the movie again after 2 decades and still able to simultaneously say some lines in the movie amazed my daughter and me! My heart never forgot! It was nostalgic, my heart swelled on the memory of how much i loved LOTR, so much so that back in 2002, i started a website dedicated to LOTR photos, just pages and pages of photos (especially of course of Legolas). Now in 2024, at age 40, my youtube recommendations are still filled with LOTR, its characters, genealogy (yes, haha) and anything abt the elves). For me, nothing will beat LOTR, the greatest trilogy ever!
Oh god. The lotr RUclips loop gets me every other year. Listening to the lore over and over again, even when I read all the books and know 90% of the trivia.
Aww that's cute that you were crushing on Legolas, I am 25 and I just discovered the movies. I love Legolas too, not only is he easy on the eyes but he is a very skilled and wise elf too! I am going to start reading the books too very soon.
I clicked on this and I immediately thought He looked just like Chester from Linkin Park in this video. It almost brought me to tears, I loved Chester so much, he was such a core part of my life growing up ❤
When I was a teenager I wanted to be Legolas and my hero was Chester cause he worded the depression I still have today. It's so weird to see them look alike so much now, I hope he will be here for many more year
Orlando was such a huge star in the 2000s, I remember girls had posters of him in their bedrooms , crazy how we faded away but when you Pirates and LOTR money who could blame him

The Pirates trilogy (yes trilogy we don’t talk about 4 and 5…) have always been my favourite movies ever. My best friend Regina and I became best friends because of Captain Jack and Will Turner. ❤ She passed away two years ago so it’s a bittersweet feeling now about the movies and how much I love them and her.
While I like 2 best, 4 and 5 is a mid favorite for me cause idea of finding fountain of youth, angelica impersonating Jack Sparrow, Barbossa has a daughter, reference of witch trials, fighting mermaids/zombies/ghosts are interesting What's more: The night before I watched Pirates 5 for first time, I dreamt that Barbossa died from people shooting him, Jack sparrow, and Gibbs☹️ My dream spoil the movie
I think 4 is still pretty good, it definitely has the true heart of a Pirates of the Carribbean. While 5 is like a high budget fan fiction by someone who's never seen the prior movies.
@@JRod1973uh yeah. Without the extended cut, there are HUGE plot points just completely missing from the film. So weird to put so many key points to the story exclusively in the directors cut
I met him when he was in a play, In Celebration in London, having a huge crush on him at the time (and still now!), he was so lovely and happy to sign the hundreds of autographs outside the theatre.
The fact that my childhood was basically watching LOTR and Pirates interchangeably and I didn't realise he was both Legolas and Will until years after when my mum mentioned it spontaneously like I knew and I just shouted NO
Coincidentally just finished At World's End tonight, the trilogy definitely holds up like LOTR. Davy Jones is without a doubt one of the best motion capture characters ever.
YES! Pirates 3 is soooooooo good. It bothers me when people say it’s the worst one of the main three. I’m like-IT IS THE BEST ONE WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! 😂 I saw the midnight showing of it with my best friend and her twin sister, we even dressed up! It was the best
Obviously our man's a legend. I chuckled when he said "I was in two trilogies and it overshadowed anything else I've tried to do." I could see him in like, a classic Jason Statham-type roll in Transporter, or Liam Neeson in Taken. You know? Gut-wrenching martial arts scenes where you almost feel bad for the henchmen. Rough, cold, but a heart of gold and all that. I believe he still has lots of good movies in him.
I know everything is overshadowed by LOTR and POTC but Troy and Kingdom of Heaven are SUCH good movies! The cast of each of them is incredible in itself! Shoutout to Elizabethtown I freaking love that movie! I actually spoke to someone recently who loves it and i so rarely find people who have seen it! I was hoping when he said he'd blanked out a movie in the opening montage it was going to be The Calcium Kid 😂😂 we won't mention that one eh babes 😂. I was so happy when he came back for The Hobbit. I still need to watch the 5th Pirates some time. Aww. He's such a sweet dude I wish nothing but goodness for him. Always lovely to see him.
“I had the sense of like, you know, wanting a deep desire to land the character correctly”. That’s what every fan wants. Really trying to dig in, and do it passionately.
He was and still is the only guy who had a character that made my jaw drop and be mesmerized by a Tolkien elf when he appeared in Imladris the first time. Truly amazing hahaha
LOTR still not only holds up today, but it holds up better than a lot of movies out today. The cgi, story telling, writing, acting is all top tier. Just amazing movies
Him saying he hated playing Paris in Troy makes his performance in it make a lot more sense. You could see the unenthusiasm in it and I could never remember why after watching the pirates franchise.
Bummer that’s how he feels about Troy but the honesty is refreshing. But still, Troy was a great film & he did such a great job at playing the pissy kid that it just makes the part
@@johnhenry4844 Not the point at all. Bloom had just completed the LOTR trilogy and Curse of the Black Peral....and then does the role of Paris. So yeah, no sh*t he didn't want to play this wimpy character that no one gave a crap about in the film.
To be in both of the greatest trilogies of this millennia must be such a gift. Lord of the Rings is such a gem, and Pirates of the Caribbean is such an amazing watch. I watch both of these in their entirety pretty often and love every second.
LOTR movies really holds up well. It has this timeless epic/literature charm to it. From cinematography to music. It's such an original, genuine movie. Made with love.
Holy shit, Orlando grew up! From having such youthful look to him for such a long time, and now seeing him after some time, so much more matured, physically! Also fun to hear him talk about his movies, and being so honest and blunt about them, Troy being a good example. Rare thing that.
It’s nice that he still comes off as genuine and humble. He may not be the most successful actor of all time, but he’s achieved a lot. And it’s nice to see that not go to his head, or at least appear to not go to his head.
I was obsessed with Orlando Bloom when I was 12 or 13 haha Had Legolas merch all over my room and also loved him in POTC. I also knew that line was from Troy hahaha
That moment in Troy DID make the movie. It is the line when Hector says “he is my brother” and makes a decision to be a brother first and prince second. So many emotions and later consequences from the one scene.
Christ this man looks GREAT for his age. When I was a teenager, I had a poster of him as a young man in a place of pride on my door to go with some of my LOTR posters. Not ashamed to admit it, I had such a crush, and I think I still do! Rooting for him and I wish him nothing but the best!
Oof me too I had so many posters of him until my mom start getting all judgmental about it, so I was forced to put all the other lotr actors/actresses all over my walls lmao 🙄
LOTR helped open up his career for some amazing movies. I've enjoyed watching so many of them. I've been a fan of his since fellowship of the ring. Wishing him continued success.
Damn . . . Time really flies fast. I was surpised by how he looks in here compared to the movies which feels like I just watched not too long ago. He really did age 😮
Memory about Orlando Bloom, I sat at DMV in West Hollywood doing my driving test, its a really small room and they gave us chairs along the corridor, and I literally doing my text on my lap and then someone just passed me by and stepped on my foot. And I just heard: "oh I am sorry", i was like ok, it happens. I looked up and it was Orlando Bloom. 10 minutes later he walked back and again stepped on my foot and again "Oh, I am sorry". Later officer told us that its very popular location for celebrities to do their DL. Later that year I saw Iron Man there)))
I was thinking about Orlando Blook the other day and his acting career. Literally in some of the greatest movies ever created. LoTR, Pirates of the Caribbean, Kindom of Heaven, Troy, Black Hawk Down. All top tier movies, wild to think about.
I think a friend of mine commented it's Paris's face that would launch a thousand ship instead of Helen's in the Troy movie. Diane Kruger is a fine looking lady, but Orlando was fresh of his pretty boy look as Legolas in LOTR.
I clearly remember going to see Pirates of the Caribbean in the theater and there wasn't really a lot of buzz surrounding it. It was really just another random summer adventure movie. You know that feeling in the air when you leave the theater and everyone excited cause they just saw a damn good movie who ended on a high note? It was definetly like that
The fact that he didn't even want to play Paris in Troy, and hated his own bits, but did them anyway JUST so the audience will loathe his character...makes me appreciate him even more lol what an actor 🙏
Kingdom Of Heaven is just my all time favorite and watch it every year. It holds a special place in my heart! Thanks to Orlando for playing the main character Balian!
I haven’t seen all of Orlando’s movies, but besides the mentioned ones I really liked Elizabethtown alongside Kirsten Dunst. Seemingly simple movie about a simple life, about a guy failing at work and then his father dies, but, I think, I liked to watch actors playing out the simple human life rather than Orlando being this superhero Legolas (which is cool, but after all gives variety to actor, when it comes to roles). The other movie I totally loved was The Good Doctor, where he portrayed a new doc that struggles with loneliness, therefore, at one moment he befriends a young female patient, but starts to poison her with wrong medicine, so, she doesn’t go away from him. The girl eventually dies, and then there’s the hard aftermath, and, I think, what I loved the most was how Orlando’s character gets back into daily life, smiles and everything and then the movie just abruptly ends. Loved that! Tbh, I thought that this movie was quite underrated as it triggers not the best parts of human and makes people question how far one can go in order to make themselves feel better. Peculiar and very interesting.
I was pleasantly surprised to hear about his Peppa Pig lol that's hilarious and so cute. Also, as soon as he read the crew member line, I knew it was the second one ; Dead Man's Chest! My FAVORITE ONE. ❤ He is such an iconic actor and has been in so many films from many people's childhoods and stuff.
It's crazy how time flies. Orlando bloom was only 24 when the fellowship of the ring was filmed. My mom, my cousins, my aunt and my uncle rented fellowship of the ring to watch and the very next night we watched pirate sof the carribean. I was so excited to see legolas in another movie. I was only 10 then. I'm 31 now and Orlando bloom is 47. I feel like I grew up with him and his movies. Love your Orlando ❤️
Tbh i wouldn't count him among my favorite actors, i honestly don't know if i even have a top 5 because there are so many great actors and actresses, BUT he is undeniably a GOAT. My favorite movie ever is Kingdom of Heaven and my favorite trilogy is LoTR. Safe to say, Mr. Bloom has had a major impact on my life.
it makes me sad a bit to see him looking older. In my head he's still looking like he did in LOTR and Pirates... and seeing him older makes me realize how long it's been since the movies came out ---> and how old I am myself now :(
Hehe, I had a huge crush on Orlando Bloom when he played Legolas. I never read the books so I kept praying, "Don't let me die." His and Gimli's dynamic was one of my fav aspects. That's impressive how he wanted to do as much physical stuff as possible.
I’ve got two world records in archery. I met Sean Astin at a comic con this year, and he signed the folder my first record came in. He also drew some doodles of arrows, an archer and a target on it, and I have it framed and hung beneath the record plaque. My goal is to break more records, meet more of these guys and have an entire LOTR “art gallery” at home! Of course Legolas is an absolute must for this goal, so here’s hoping someday the opportunity arises!

An elf , a pirate, a prince , a knight etc.
And a US army ranger lol
and a Raccoon!👀
I clicked on this and I immediately thought He looked just like Chester from Linkin Park in this video. It almost brought me to tears, I loved Chester so much, he was such a core part of my life growing up ❤
I was actually thinking the same!
I thought about it too since long ago
When I was a teenager I wanted to be Legolas and my hero was Chester cause he worded the depression I still have today. It's so weird to see them look alike so much now, I hope he will be here for many more year
Was looking for this kinda comment :)))❤
The same😂😂
Orlando was such a huge star in the 2000s, I remember girls had posters of him in their bedrooms , crazy how we faded away but when you Pirates and LOTR money who could blame him
LOTR was also his first movie out of drama school then he went to super famous super fast it was probably overwhelming and felt good to do smaller projects for a while
Orlando only got paid 145k for all 3 Lotr movies which is insane but at the end of the day it was worth it as they ate the greatest movies ever
I have printed posters of Legolas just after The Fellowship of the Ring came out as i fell in love with him (he even enter3d my dreams with his bow and arrows haha)! I was 16 yrs old. I still have them in my room more than 20 years later ( and 3 houses lived later). I invited my 14yo daughter to watch it the trilogy with me now (2024) and she was hooked! She loves Legolas too that she asked me to draw him to which i answered, il pass onto you my framed posters of Legolas, they are all yours! Watching the movie again after 2 decades and still able to simultaneously say some lines in the movie amazed my daughter and me! It was nostalgic, my heart swelled on the memory of how much i loved LOTR, so much so that back in 2002, i started a website dedicated to LOTR photos, just pages and pages of photos (especially of course of Legolas).

I guess he had a similar problem to Mark Hamill after Star Wars. Too big and too recognisable for more leading roles.
@K.C-2049 Everyone forgets they were in a movie together literally right before they both blew up
The Pirates trilogy (yes trilogy we don’t talk about 4 and 5…) have always been my favourite movies ever. My best friend Regina and I became best friends because of Captain Jack and Will Turner. ❤ She passed away two years ago so it’s a bittersweet feeling now about the movies and how much I love them and her.
While I like 2 best, 4 and 5 is a mid favorite for me cause idea of finding fountain of youth, angelica impersonating Jack Sparrow, Barbossa has a daughter, reference of witch trials, fighting mermaids/zombies/ghosts are interesting
What's more: The night before I watched Pirates 5 for first time, I dreamt that Barbossa died from people shooting him, Jack sparrow, and Gibbs☹️ My dream spoil the movie
sorry to hear that man... I know it dont mean much coming from a stranger online😅 Hope you have someone to talk to about it.
I think 4 is still pretty good, it definitely has the true heart of a Pirates of the Carribbean.
While 5 is like a high budget fan fiction by someone who's never seen the prior movies.
Love how honest he is
Orlando bloom has been in so many epic movies. I think he’s underrated as an actor
Kingdom of Heaven just got so overlooked in its time. It’s such a great movie.
It’s one of my fav movies ever
It’s totally great. Such a work of art
The Extended cut makes it better imo
@@JRod1973uh yeah. Without the extended cut, there are HUGE plot points just completely missing from the film. So weird to put so many key points to the story exclusively in the directors cut
"Jerusalem has come" such a powerful line.
I met him when he was in a play, In Celebration in London, having a huge crush on him at the time (and still now!), he was so lovely and happy to sign the hundreds of autographs outside the theatre.
Anyone else here just to hear him talk about Lord of the Rings? :)
I’m here for POTC🎉😂
Me lmao
Obviously
Nah peppa pig 🤝
Just wrapped up LOTR with my 8 year old yesterday - they hold up perfectly and such a legacy
I had no idea he is such a happy, jovial guy. So forthcoming in his honest answers, great interview!
It's crazy to me that if I ever have to think of an elf, the first character that comes to mind is Orlando's Legolas. So iconic.
Fine I’ll watch LOTR and POTC again 😒
You can add kingdom of heaven and Carneval Row to your list. But skip elizabethtown:)
Is it already that time of the year?
It is, I just finished lotr like a week ago and im at dead mans chest right now.
@@therealKraktime flies when you’re busy watching the LOTR trilogy
F*ck you guys, here goes my free time for the next two weeks
The fact that my childhood was basically watching LOTR and Pirates interchangeably and I didn't realise he was both Legolas and Will until years after when my mum mentioned it spontaneously like I knew and I just shouted NO
Same
Just like how one of my sons failed to notice that Rambo and Rocky were played by the same man long ago when he was little.
@@PrincessMeggala0913it is DEF not the worst, at worlds end is my favorite out of the three!!
At world's end was like avengers endgame but with better writing
The only good pirate movie was the first one. The others were super weird, gross, and had terribly obnoxious absurd storyline
I watch Elizabethtown every year, one of my favorites 🥹
What about Elizabethtown?
Are you kidding? Calcium Kid is definitely an A tier movie. Better than Rocky.
i came to the comments hoping to find somebody else who has seen elizabethtown
Ive seen Elizabethtown its a good movie
“I had the sense of like, you know, wanting a deep desire to land the character correctly”. That’s what every fan wants. Really trying to dig in, and do it passionately.
He was and still is the only guy who had a character that made my jaw drop and be mesmerized by a Tolkien elf when he appeared in Imladris the first time. Truly amazing hahaha
Dude same here! Halfway into Fellowship and the first hot dude shows up 😍😍 I literally gasped
LOTR still not only holds up today, but it holds up better than a lot of movies out today. The cgi, story telling, writing, acting is all top tier. Just amazing movies
“A red sun rises, blood has been spilled this night” is literally my “goto phrase” whenever I see a red sun abroad.
One of my favorite actors ever. Legolas and Will Turner were such great and memorable characters!
Still think that Kingdom of heaven is still one of his best
That's such a great film. 💖
True of the director's cut, not the theatrical release.
It’s one of my favorite films of all time.
Great soundtrack as well.
@@goyasolidar Yes, a complete different movie, much better
Him saying he hated playing Paris in Troy makes his performance in it make a lot more sense. You could see the unenthusiasm in it and I could never remember why after watching the pirates franchise.
Bummer that’s how he feels about Troy but the honesty is refreshing.
But still, Troy was a great film & he did such a great job at playing the pissy kid that it just makes the part
Not surprised. From a career perspective, the role of Paris felt like a bad move.
@@janerubybell why?
@@hiiamhi.23just a really unlikeable character but not in even a good way like joffery from GoT for example, just genuinely unlikeable
@@D.Records
That’s the point dude
It’s okay, we all hated Paris in Troy too, but you are a legend for so many legendary roles.
My favourite Legolas dialogue
'This is no mere ranger, this is Aragon, son of 😐😐😐'
Holy shit, Orlando grew up!
Orlando Bloom should do a film on the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. It would be awesome
Great call!
Yeah he almost look like him
Was thinking the same and i've found your comment... Agree a 100% !
he looks exactly like chester bennington now
They do look alike a bit
That moment in Troy DID make the movie. It is the line when Hector says “he is my brother” and makes a decision to be a brother first and prince second. So many emotions and later consequences from the one scene.
I really liked his honesty at the end of the video when he spoke of being young and present - It felt real genuine to me.
He nailed all the LOTR lines. Shows how epic those movies were.
Would have loved to have seen, “Did I miss 60B?” 🤣
Elizabethtown. One of my all-time favorites!
I was going to comment "Failure is simply the non-presence of success. But a fiasco is a disaster of mythic proportions," but you're right.
me toooo!!!!
Iconic actor. So many good films. Kingdom, LOTR, Pirates. He was king of the cinema when I was teenager.
Ironically, I found his performance as Paris in Troy (2004) to be amongst his best. Courage and love at the end, cowardice and love at the start.
I’m not surprised he remembers LOTR so well. The trilogy is a massive masterpiece that was ridiculously well received!
I was here to hear " they taking the hobbits to isengard gard gard gard gard..."
I think a friend of mine commented it's Paris's face that would launch a thousand ship instead of Helen's in the Troy movie.
Diane Kruger is a fine looking lady, but Orlando was fresh of his pretty boy look as Legolas in LOTR.
maybe why I loved that movie so much
I clearly remember going to see Pirates of the Caribbean in the theater and there wasn't really a lot of buzz surrounding it. It was really just another random summer adventure movie. You know that feeling in the air when you leave the theater and everyone excited cause they just saw a damn good movie who ended on a high note? It was definetly like that
Guy did LOTR & POTC back to back. Can't think of a more epic start to an actor's career
LOTR, POTC, Troy, KOH. Some of my fav films as a kid
When you have done all those movies and you're talking the most euphoric about Peppa Pig... 😅 You need to love this guy.
Great interview! Such iconic performances he has given us throughout his career 🙌🏻
They could have chose the quote " No cause is lost if there's but one fool left to fight for it" for him to guess.
💔
Agreed. One of the best underrated lines from potc3.
That 1st movie is so quotable
I love that line too! I wish they'd picked "The son was still shining when your wife left you" for Troy.
The fact that he didn't even want to play Paris in Troy, and hated his own bits, but did them anyway JUST so the audience will loathe his character...makes me appreciate him even more lol what an actor 🙏
Actually Carnival Row was quite fun! Wonder why they didn’t include it
Yeah
We need more movies from Orlando Bloom! 😢
Would love to see him in the Monsterverse, if not in DC or Marvel. Or possibly another epic scifi/fantasyfilm franchise 😊❤
Kingdom Of Heaven is just my all time favorite and watch it every year. It holds a special place in my heart! Thanks to Orlando for playing the main character Balian!
Really is an amazing film! 🎉
Nothing makes me feel so mortal as seeing celebrities from my childhood become older.
Soo cool to see Bloom talking about my favorite Film "Kingdome of haven"
Bro is in kingdom of heaven, LOTR, POTC, troy.
He is really underrated man
I was pleasantly surprised to hear about his Peppa Pig lol that's hilarious and so cute. Also, as soon as he read the crew member line, I knew it was the second one ; Dead Man's Chest! My FAVORITE ONE. ❤ He is such an iconic actor and has been in so many films from many people's childhoods and stuff.
I'll just leave this here "3:15 - 3:28" and give it a standing ovation👏
It's crazy how time flies. Orlando bloom was only 24 when the fellowship of the ring was filmed. My mom, my cousins, my aunt and my uncle rented fellowship of the ring to watch and the very next night we watched pirate sof the carribean. I was so excited to see legolas in another movie. I was only 10 then.
I'm 31 now and Orlando bloom is 47. I feel like I grew up with him and his movies.
Love your Orlando ❤️
Matured Bloom looks and sounds fantastic! 😍 I wish he'd be cast more often these days.
Probably too busy supporting Katy Perry
I could see him playing Chester from Linkin Park on a biography type thing. Thatd be dope
Love Kingdom of Heaven, Orlando’s so good in that❤
3:02
😂😂 you can tell he enjoyed that role hahahahah. Immediately in character 😂
3:55 is that his stomach? 😂
0:58 I can't believe I know this but Orlando Bloom does not. 😂😂😂
I just knew there was going to be "What about side by side with a friend?" Because it's such a wholesome line from the last movie!
I can almost recite Troy I've seen it so many times. Love that movie.
One of my favourite war movies
"Immortality! Take it... It's yours!!"
*I can't imagine anybody else as Legolas. He was born for that role.* ❤❤🧝♀️
"Peppa Pig has been in my life for as long as I can remember--well at least 13 years." Hah
