He will win the Oscar. I loved him in Oppenheimer. The film was confusing & felt rushed the first hour, but he held it together & shined until it all came together halfway through. What a powerful film that couldn’t have been made without him.
@@Oklahoma534 haha, yep. Good insight. I don't think the movie itself was rushed. I think they did well at creating a sense of it being a time of significant time pressure.
Anyone who has seen Nolan's work over the years are used to this style of storytelling and structure. Some people may find it confusing because he doesn't follow the usual linear structure but I think that's what makes his movies unique.
It's definitely one of those movies you need to watch at least twice to connect the proverbial dots. What I had trouble with was trying to memorize who each character was and their role in the film, because there were just so many of them.
Just watched Red Eye again two days ago. Enjoyed the movie but was thinking all the way through how good Cillian Murphy was in that role. Rachel McAdams was fantastic as well.
Been saying it for years - he has the potential to be our generation's Daniel Day-Lewis. And I don't say that lightly, DDL is my favorite actor. I'm glad Murphy is getting more recognition and bigger roles.
I'm so glad this man is getting recognition he deserves. His talent is out of this world and he seems to have genuine, honest personality. Wish him a lot of great films/series in the future, good health and happiness.
Considering how crucial Ireland is to him I think more people should watch cillian's performance in The Wind that shakes the Barley where he gives incredible justice to his character set in the Ireland of 1920s. It's such an underrated part of his filmography
I am 51 years old and completely in love with this actor. I am watching Peaky Blinders after I've discovered him in Oppenheimer. Extraordinary and talented beautiful Cillian. I am sure that he won't get loose with fame and fortune!
I am a Cillian Murphy hipster. I’m mostly joking, I’m sure he had great work before it, but when 28 days later came out - I knew he was going to be a giant actor in our lifetimes. Thanks for the great work Mr Murphy!
What a man. Such a light soul. I've been really curious to see an interview just like that - with Cillian in his dwelling place, in Ireland. I feel like in this interview we get to see him at his most vulnerable, yet it doesn't feel like that at all, instead, it feels super welcoming and warm and homely. Him taking a walk on the beach where he used to rehearse his role for Oppenheimer in front feels particularly special - like a glimpse into his place of power. Such a great interview and it made me really connect with Cillian as if I was his private guest and a close friend, thank you very much!
I completely agree, "You should never plan on how you're going to play stuff." Always my approach. How profound to hear Cillian say this. Wow! He's such a great actor. I absolutely loved this interview.
I used to watch it every Sunday with my dad, in the 90s and early 2000s. It's definitely gone downhill now. It's more pop-journalism. Not as many offbeat stories .
I've heard what an intelligent man he is. This interview confirms it. And I'm with Cillian when he says he thinks the term "movie star" is a term for other people, because he doesn't really do the whole "movie star thing" and make lots of public appearances out shopping and dining in Hollywood. Instead, he's living a quiet, peaceful life, away from the tabloids and paparazzi. What a genuinely amazing person. I'd love for him to one day write an autobiography.
I've had a healthy obsession with Cillian ever since he played Scarecrow in Batman Begins. Dude's not just an exceptional actor, but has something that just demands attention in such an incredibly subtle way. He's magnetic. So happy he's finally getting some flowers.
His humble, relatable personality is so moving and attractive. I so admire his last comment - which is rooted in his truth - the term “movie star” is for others - not him. He is in a class of his own when it comes to his acting prowess.

I'm irish and have followed Ciliians work since the days of "28 days later, Sunshine and the Wind that shakes the Barley". Delighted, he's getting the recognition he deserves, incredible actor.
So happy for him .. im irish born spent my early years living in Limerick City but moved to California where i reside . I hooe he wins the oscars
Intermission? Great indie Irish Flick with a great cast.
@imanawfulprick seen intermission great film, but the movies mentioned is where i became familiar with him.
@@gridone769 👍 oh I understood man, just wanted to make sure you didn't miss that one!
The wind that shakes the barley is so good and so sad
Such a smart, humble, down to earth person. It is so refreshing seeing these kind of people getting the awards they deserve.
Thank you ❤
Hello beautiful, I have seen a quite handful of your comment on my post uploaded on my business page, so I decided to create a more private page to appreciate those people whose comments and good wishes encourages me and I hope to bring you guys more... thanks a lot, I feel so honored and blessed to have an amazing fan like you.
Hi, there , i know this is like a dream to you but thank you for supporting and being part of my community
Cillian is such a modest person and such an amazing actor to boot we are so proud of him here in Ireland.
Love the interviewer. I've never seen Cillian more relaxed with the press.
Can't stand the interviewer. Love the interviewed.
@@zeebop3812 Out of curiosity, I must ask: what can't you stand? The calm disposition? The lovely speaking voice? The earnestly interested questions? The welcome exposition of Cillian's past? I mean, have you heard some of the insufferable interviewers out there? This gentleman is excellent.
It’s nice too see Cillian smile and be chatty. He always seems so soft spoken and quiet in most of his interviews. It’s nice to see HIM for once.
Cillian Murphy has been one of our times greatest actor for such a long time. He's finally getting the official recognition!
My favourite part about 60 minutes is realising the interviews are never 60 minutes.
Here in Oz one of our comedy shows used to call it "48 Minutes" (as in the actual length of the show without ads - these days more like 40!)
Wow, HOW MANY YEARS LATER???????
Last century, when I watched 60 minutes, it was three segments, each close to 20 minutes, with a few minutes at the end for Andy Rooney.
They really do stretch that name out.
The broadcast lasts 60 minutes I assume
I'm from Kerry!!!!! Whoooooooop! Love it!!! Corcaigh Abu!!! Ireland is immensely proud of Cillian and the way he conducts himself, x
Wonderful interview, what a great 13 minutes listening to the calm, the humility, the curiosity and the simplicity of a clearly complex human being. In these times of divisiveness and lies, how great it is to appreciate that integrity still exists and can still matter. Thank you Scott Pelley and Cillian Murphy for sharing, will sleep well tonight! 🤗😇
My man is getting his due recognition as an excellent actor. ❤
Tbf he never really had a goal of being award winning. Just loves doing his job
@@SmcdMcd-d2kyeah, I know but isn't it a hidden desire for all humans to be recognised for our works, to be appreciated, to be loved??? He has had a quiet life for years, he enjoyed his privacy and now he can enjoy his fame and popularity.
@@marjanp4784 no he doesn’t want to enjoy fame: he absolutely hates it. He also doesn’t crave recognition. He is only doing all this press as he is obliged to
@@marjanp4784respectfully we like to project on what we think people need to feel what we feel and want for them. Don't know what he feels but as an introvert. It secretly grind me when people wish me things I don't want but what they want for me. Don't know if that makes sense. lol
I believe he is one of the best actors of my time.
Hi, there , i know this is like a dream to you but thank you for supporting and being part of my community
Oppemheimer was great for lots of reasons. Casting, sound, practical effects. But Cillian is at the top of the list 100%
For me the movie is over-rated but Cillian lived up to the marketing.
This show feels like from another time. No hectic cuts or unnecessary drama. Nice pacing and deep insights, well formulated narration. And Cilian is a great mate to have, I reckon.
The first time that I saw this man in a film was "Red Eye" and he scared the life out of me. He was menacing.
Red Eye and not 28 Days Later? Lame
@@WestCoastCultured Both are good roles and films IMO - just very different.
Great actor i love how 60 min is like still 80s style blast from the past if it aint broken dont fix IT.
I have a sincere respect for how humble and down to earth he is, and as others have commented about just being able to sit and have a pint with friends. It says alot about the mutual respect of Cillian and the people of the town. I look forward to seeing more of his work in the future.
Well done Cillian!
From Long Island NY fan.
You only need to see a single episode of Peaky Blinders to see Cillians Range! Love him, so glad the wider world if catching on!
I liked that they went to his hometown for this interview. This just feels a lot more genuine than the studio or some actors soulless mansion. I'm sure it wasn't their idea, he probably preferred to be somewhere he's comfortable but good on him.
Erm cilllians home is massive though.
@@Jackielong-sighted7890 the interview didn't take place there, unless the beach, bars and theatre club in the clip belong to him and I missed it.
@@gemelwalters2942 My point Is you're making it seem like because he isn't at home that he's somehow soulful and genuine and yet I'm just saying many interviews have been held at his giant regal looking mansion.
@@Jackielong-sighted7890 no, I'm fairly sure I said the location...not the man. I also said it was good it didn't take place at the studio. You seem to have jumped over that and quite a bit to get to your conclusion. Perhaps just a misunderstanding
@@gemelwalters2942 Actors soulless mansion is what you said which considering his mansion is massive means you contradicted your own point. The failure is yours not mine.
The wind that shakes the barley Is a must see. One of his best
There's so much humility in this man when he speaks, it's incredible to see! The interviewer Scott Pelley did a great job too with the good amount of sensitivity, observation and the right kind of questions asked.
It's great to see a actor with so much class and humility
Best Oscar Worthy Actor Ci Mur btw I just realized he is also in Batman
I love him so much. I've watched him for many years. Such an incredible human being. Hugs from Texas 🩷🤠🩷
If Cillian doesn’t win Best Actor, I swear, it will be an insult to not just the work he did for Oppenheimer, but for every movie that he’s ever done.
He is absolutely brilliant.
I did see The Holdovers so I am OK with paul Giamatti winning best actor.
Agree. He was incredible. Long overdue.
@@stephaniehendricks3537 Paul is brilliant as well! I just like Cillian a teensy bit more. They both deserve it though
Best Oscar Worthy Actor Cillian Murphy Robert Oppenheimerin
wow what a crazy time
Seems like a genuinely nice lad. Makes his success all the more inspiring.
Probably one of the most well-rounded and characteristically diverse actors, with incredible humility about him.

He will win the Oscar. I loved him in Oppenheimer. The film was confusing & felt rushed the first hour, but he held it together & shined until it all came together halfway through. What a powerful film that couldn’t have been made without him.
It felt rushed because they were in a rush to build the bomb
@@Oklahoma534 haha, yep. Good insight. I don't think the movie itself was rushed. I think they did well at creating a sense of it being a time of significant time pressure.
Anyone who has seen Nolan's work over the years are used to this style of storytelling and structure. Some people may find it confusing because he doesn't follow the usual linear structure but I think that's what makes his movies unique.
It's definitely one of those movies you need to watch at least twice to connect the proverbial dots. What I had trouble with was trying to memorize who each character was and their role in the film, because there were just so many of them.
He doesnt want one
One of the most open, relaxed interviews Cillian has ever done. Well done 60 Minutes
Breathtakingly beautiful human, inside and out. A man with great depth. Brilliant.
Thank you ❤
Cillian Murphy has always been fascinating actor to me. He plays villain really well like in Batman and Red Eye. Hope he wins the Oscar.
Just watched Red Eye again two days ago. Enjoyed the movie but was thinking all the way through how good Cillian Murphy was in that role. Rachel McAdams was fantastic as well.
The fact Cillian could put on an oppie accent *and* speak Dutch at the same time is wild. What a talented man.
Being Dutch myself, I can't make anything of his "Dutch" though
@@tubbalcain I see. Complete blibberish? Or just broken?
@@Laminar-Flow maybe 2 a 3 words are kind of recognisable, though still spoken with a German tongue :)

i like how he stayed true to his irish identity.tells a lot about his character in a way
Huge fan of Cillian and the interviewer did a great job asking great questions and actively listening.
What a lovely person....inside as well as outside. Will watch his career with great interest
Love listening to Cillian being interviewed. He's so intelligent and down to earth.
Been saying it for years - he has the potential to be our generation's Daniel Day-Lewis. And I don't say that lightly, DDL is my favorite actor. I'm glad Murphy is getting more recognition and bigger roles.
I was thinking the same. They’re in a league of their own.
Brilliant, powerful movie.
That, and "Breakfast on Pluto" are my favorites of his performances.

I am 51 years old and completely in love with this actor. I am watching Peaky Blinders after I've discovered him in Oppenheimer. Extraordinary and talented beautiful Cillian. I am sure that he won't get loose with fame and fortune!
He's been famous for 20 years 😅
Dude I’ve literally watched Peaky over 7 times. Truly an underrated show. He’s so talented and genuine.
The show is absolutely brilliant!!! You're going to love it. He killed it as Tommy Shelby
@@tear728he is now reaching the peek of the fame!
he's the best kind of movie star....humble
60 minutes is one of those few shows that still has class.
You're apparently a card carrying Mensa member 😂
I used to watch it every Sunday with my dad, in the 90s and early 2000s. It's definitely gone downhill now. It's more pop-journalism. Not as many offbeat stories .
@@gutsfinky Oh yeah. Ed Bradley was great. I go back and watch the old stuff. The interview with Jackie Gleason is the best.
I love 60 minutes.
So humble & kind. I hope he gets everything he wants.
Great interview. I can’t get enough of this elusive actor.
I am so happy he was given an interview where he is able to express himself through his soul.
Normally he is in his brain.
Such a fine, humble amazing actor.. He deserved everything he accomplished and all the long overdue awards..❤❤❤
What an impressive, intimate and very reserved human being, Cillian is!
I've had a healthy obsession with Cillian ever since he played Scarecrow in Batman Begins. Dude's not just an exceptional actor, but has something that just demands attention in such an incredibly subtle way. He's magnetic. So happy he's finally getting some flowers.
Have always enjoyed Cillian as an actor and the brief glimpses into the man. Great interview.
Cillian is so heartwarming person 💚
He has a perfectly authentic Irish accent too with no American influence there. What a joy he is!

What a likable personality - and a unique actor by the way 😊
His humble, relatable personality is so moving and attractive. I so admire his last comment - which is rooted in his truth - the term “movie star” is for others - not him. He is in a class of his own when it comes to his acting prowess.

So glad for him to be recognized by the main stream audience. He has been amazing for awhile now…glad Christopher Nolan exposed him into stardom
SO HUMBLE, GENTLE AND CENTERED. YOU COULD BE A FRIEND WITH HIM FOR A LIFE.
Humble human, brilliant actor & Ireland looks beautiful. Wow.
Gorgeous
Love Cillian and his body of work. I really hope he takes home that well deserved Oscar
Cilian's humbleness can drive you to tears, can it not? His gentle friendliness shows his good upbringing as well, so kudos to his parents here, but also to Cilian's lifetime effort of having become and still striving to be both a good actor and a good man. He is a gentleman in the truest sense, a rare specimen these days, not only among actors or so-called stars!
Dude has been in so many amazing hits! I first saw him in 28 Days Later and loved it. Same with Sunshine.
