In this video, I'm working on making a special dagger with a stone handle called "Serenity." The Serenity Dagger is almost done, but before I finish it, I decide to dip the blade in a special acid called ferric chloride. This acid will make a cool pattern called a mosaic on the blade. First, I clean the blade really well, and then I put it in the acid. I'm super excited to see how it turns out!
Next, I use coffee to make the blade darker and bring out the pattern even more. It takes a few tries to get it just right, but in the end, I get the look I want. Then, I put a shiny wax finish on it to protect it and make it look even better.
Now that the blade is etched, darkened, and shiny, I work on the fittings. I sand them until they are super smooth and shiny too. Then, I use a special process called gun bluing to create my black mirror finish.
Finally, I sharpen the dagger so that it's super sharp and ready to use. I put all the pieces together, including the stone handle, dark blade, and black fittings with gold inlays.
I'm so happy with how the Serenity Dagger turned out, especially with the stone handle that I've been wanting to try for a long time. I want to tell all of you not to be afraid to try new things and take on challenges in your own projects. It's so much fun to see what you can create! May the Forge Be With YOU!

how much would you sell this knife for? is 25k enough?
What Caranuba wax do you use?
Stunning knife, for the fittings have you ever tried micro mesh sandpaper?
That is so beautiful Kyle!!!!
I enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Beautiful work
This is the type of ceremonial blade you could have handed to a king as a gift. There is so much to look at with this piece.
I agree, its that worthy.
Yes Louie the 14th king of France would have approved of this dagger
And be named chief smith shortly afterwards.
Every time I see a new blade from you, I can't believe you could make a better one. Then you go ahead and make an even better one. Fantastic work!
Way to make fun of people that died on the titanic dude
@@lolwut6666absolutely mortifiying how they used a movie clip!! this is devastating
In 1000 years, these knives will be in the museum.
Kyle, you're hands down one of the greatest bladesmiths of all time. Your attention to detail, creative vision and level of meticulousness is unmatched as far as I'm concerned.
They really need higher work benches. His spine is a 90 degree bend for hours a day!
@@tbrowniscool I can agree with that.
Yes you correct sir.
The Craftsmanship is just on another level.
The dagger looks enchanted for Christ sakes.
I see a Kyle Royer video, I click. This man is not making knives. This is pure artwork. When you have reached this level of time and knowledge in any craft you are making pure fine art in my opinion. Amazing work, can't get enough!
This is what's called functional art.
First of all, why can a knife not be a art? Secondly, this is much more of a knife than a piece of art. I can smear a pound of butter into a corner of a museum and call it art and I need 0 skills at anything for that.
My favourite part about all your builds, is how much of your soul you poor into them. This dagger is incredibly beautiful. Well done!
The Dagger is something I would see a King wear in throne room. Something to never be used but always admired, until the day someone attempts to kill him and he stab's them with it, showing it was a functional beauty all along.
Great short story!😊
This it the man I can believe is a modern bladesmith.
I didn't think I would like an S guard on a dagger... It's actually pretty cool, I love the entire build from tip to sheath!
And thank you for everything you do for us beginning knife builders out here trying to piece together information!
God Bless ✝️
Your work is just so next level!
Clover pattern? I think that's a fitting name
Just a awesome piece brother. That’s the coolest dagger I have ever seen in my lifetime. You rock dude
This blade deserves awards.
I dont understand how you dont have millions of followers. Your work is mind blowing.
The shots with the LED strip around the etch tube were amazing. Great idea. Amazing dagger fellas.
Creating national treasures, one knife at a time. On every level - unbelievable.
Another amazing piece of art! I want one of your pieces so bad...
Every time I watch you make a blade I realize I still have a long way to go!
Oh wow. The finish and pattern on this blade is absolutley next level. Holy crap was not excpecting that
When you put this in the serenity playlist, you can officially move it into the completed projects group, congratulations
As a craftsman, you stand alone at the very top in your attention to detail. You rarely see perfection in art. But damn you've done it again.
The day i saw one of your blades,i was hooked. What an amazing art of blacksmithing.
Absolutely beautiful knife 🔪 buddy nice job!.blessings 👍 👌
You are setting the standard, Kyle.
That is honestly the most beautiful knife I've ever seen. I love the Damascus design. It looks almost like leaves or petals up close, but it looks like scales from a distance.
that's a masterpiece. the royal purple in the handle mixed with the gold and crazy damascus layout. looks like something designed for royalty.
I have never seen better Damascus than Kyle's stuff. Just amazing.
This is hands down my favorite piece I've seen you make!
You are an artist mate! I am a mere mortal in the presence of a more beautiful and everlasting object. Even being able to see it is breathtaking, I can't imagine how it would feel to hold it. Watching this legitimately made me feel small. Like peering into a piece of fantasy....
You keep outdoing yourself with your knives and daggers. The mosaic is phenomenal and that stone handle is great. I can’t believe that you could find a stone that great quality and size that you could make a handle.
By far You are The King's Favorite Knife Maker in all of His Royer Land and are ours also, cheers Mate..
Stir the coffee with a spoon you lunatic! Beautiful knife. You sir are a legend
Idk how this channel doesnt have a million subs at least
Very beautiful dagger and insane craftsmanship! Good job! Btw this guy gives me Doug DeMuro vibes lol.
For a few years now I have been watching you content I would say undoubtedly no question you have to be the best knife maker in the world I have no idea what you do with your knives after they are finished but I do hope they go to some of the best knife collectors in the world like myself just something about in a few have the absolutely love keep up the great work I hope you make 100 more
i got grey hair waiting for this...well worth the wait, as always
This is by far the most beautiful blade I've seen made, well done!
You are an absolute Jedi when it comes to bladesmithing, my friend. 👌🏼
Wow, just wow! Your knives are incredible!!
This is why I like to watch you work, you treat every piece like it's your first-born.
THIS is an awesome piece Kyle. The way the handle plays in the light with almost silver flecks in it. I wonder what this would look like with a turquoise or chrysocolla handle. In any case, I think the purple is absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations!!
You and black dragon forge... Incredible
The reason it called serenity is your enemies will become distracted by how beautiful the knife is before they meet their demise… bringing you sweet serenity and satisfaction.
Kyle.... This is art on a multiple angle... Beautiful result!
Nothing less than perfect. Say hello to the family. Love you guys…
No.
You are not a Master Bladesmith....You are a god!
If they ever made a museum of blacksmithing I sincerely hope they add your work in an exhibit.
Wow I am in awe of your ability. Artwork doesn't say it at all. Its something more that there is no word for.
i love that pattern, looks like dried leaf during autumn . very pleasing look
KyleRoverKnives - God Tier Smithing, the finest blades ever conceived and created and simply the best in the world.
Absolutely stunning craftsmanship.
This dagger is gorgeous.
Kyle's passion and enthusiasm is top notch
I think that's most gorgeous dagger I've ever seen 🗡🔥
No words could properly describe that beauty...
It's breathtaking. I hope history remembers you as one of the greats.
I keep thinking......the previous project has to be his magnum opus and then, Serenity is finished and i have to rethink what this man is capable of creating! Its just stunning!
This is by far the nicest thing I’ve ever seen anyone make. I’m not really a materialistic person and have no need for things I don’t or can’t use but I would love to own this
sir! you are a rrreal master! it's an honor just to see you work!
I appreciate that!
I watch a lot of makers, and that is perhaps the most beautiful knife I have ever seen.
Truly beautiful.
You do great works. But, this... this... this is on a completely new level. From material selection, to creating the sheath, to creating the knife, itself, this has been an odyssey. Brilliant work!
This will be the first channel on RUclips to melt down the Gold Play Button and Silver Play button into a Damascus Play Button.
Brings new meaning to the phrase from the movies...." That's not a knife..........THIS is a knife"
Would love to see a video on how much your work sells for. Would be a treat for everyone im sure. I'm sure this would sell for over 50K considering the time and effort you put into it and the craftsmanship.
Waited for weeks to see this, thanks for the content😂
"We have one more thing to do before we can do the final assembly"... I could have sworn that was gonna be a coffee break. Lol! Gorgeous work as usual!🍻
thats the kind of blade you build an entire building around just to showcase that one blade. amazing work and craft on this build sir!
This never stops until he satisfied with his work
It's so perfect it almost doesn't look real. Absolutely masterful piece.
That sheath is beautiful, Kyle.
Best knife maker on YT. I love how u don't settle for anything less than perfection.
I imagine blades like this were the type of thing kings would carry. So beautiful and such master craftsmanship.
O Ferreiro dos Deuses! Maratonei o canal!🌟
I've been watching for years and yet have not lost that sense of awe when you complete a project. 😮 truly amazing
Trabajo impecable...una verdadera obra de arte.Felicitaciones Kyle.
What a truly beautiful knife, the handle is amazing! Now it needs a stand worthy of holding it
This dude would have made a killing back in Medieval times, but it had been 10x's harder to forge without modern machinery/tools, but so worth it. 👍
Some day , on a planet far away in a distant Galixy. Maybe I will develop the ability to make ultra high art like you make, but man!
You are the best I have ever seen!
Nicely done!
Geez you make some of the absolute best looking knives ever you have an amazing talent sir
It is genuinely inspiring watching you work, Kyle. You are the epitome of a perfectionist, and it always shows in the details of the finished piece. Truly entertaining and educational content…keep up the amazing work!
Sir,your knife making skills are Jedi level. Truly amazing.
Beautiful dagger.
That is the most beautiful dagger I have ever seen 🤠
KING of elf master
You did it again Kyle! Your work is always so amazing, crafter of truly legendary items!
Would love to see this level of utter artistry in axes... Often see people making very nice axes, but never to this level of pure art
Executed in absolute perfection. Can't imagine anything could be improved. Very impressive craftsmanship!
Funny thing to think about. There's not a single king who ever lived who had anything made for them this nice.
I LOVE THAT BLADE!!!
- Breathtakingly beautiful.
- Very unique.
- What I imagine a 16th century king might have on his hip for formal occasions. (But likely far better)
Beautiful piece, as always! My favourite part is definitely the handle, and I'm looking forward to seeing you use stone again in the future.
Kyle makes some of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever seen. I’d love to have 1 of his pieces
that is beautiful, color, shape, gloss... love the hard work you have put into this amazing dagger, the flower shapes and contrasts of color all just look phenomenal. ty for the opportunity to see it.
You are just a spectacular master of your craft. As someone else said, you have easily cemented yourself as one of the greatest blade-smiths in human history. Thank you for sharing your work.
There is no words to define the high quality of your craftsmanship. Brilliant
*a full set of ceremonial armor made from this pattern would be stunning...as well as insanely labor intensive and reflectively expensive to produce but at the same time a master class in exquisite beauty*
Wow, the damascus is amazing and the combo Purple+Black+Silver+Gold is a must !
That’s the most spectacular dagger I’ve ever seen. Truly amazing!
Another masterpiece from a master Craftsman
